Hi guys! Welcome back to the basement makeover series. What color should I paint this space?

Good evening Chelsea! Great job on prepping and sanding the walls! But, when you began priming the walls, the heaviness I felt for you was lifted. To me, that always means the light at the end of the tunnel is starting to shine! To keep it in line with your neutrals, would a creamy white work and then use moodier contrasting furniture colors? It’s a decision to think about for sure! I know you will make it beautiful! 💕

Hi Kathy! That’s so sweet that you felt that relief for me- I certainly felt it too! That’s a great idea to use the furniture and accents to create the moodier space instead of the walls ☺️

I’d put up shiplap on the ceiling, I think it’d look great ❤️ a moody green color on the walls or just do a accent wall in your favorite color ❤️❤️

Thank you! The ceiling will be tricky because there are pipes that come down.

Hey Chelsea, I learnt something valuable from you today. "Taking the time to thin my lines" thank you for that share because I'll be working on my walls in maybe mid year, so I'll learn from your regret for sure. I quite like the paint colour😊

How exciting! I think once you decide on the purpose of the room, the colour will become obvious. Or, do a neutral and live with it for a while. So good to see you back. 😊

That’s very true. I think figuring out exactly what I will do with the room will be a big help! Thank you!

There’s so much light, so anything that would compliment the rest of your space! Slate Gray, any shade of brown, taupe, or even if you’re feeling daring, an olive green or even forest green would be beautiful. ❤

Nice job! I say go light on the walls. Maybe an off-white or a light sagey green color?

All the hard work and dust is paying off. Looks great !.
My 2 cents says light and bright on the finish paint.

Your walls turned out great. My next house will be all white. But that’s me. You paint whatever color you feel comfortable with living with it. It’s your house. I like color. But I’ve never had an all white house. So that’s what I want. I may hate it and paint the walls different colors. Who knows?

Hi Chelsea! Hope you had A blessed Christmas & new year! I pray 2025 brings you Lots of love, joy, prosperity & many blessings!🙏🏻😊 Oooh i felt so bad for you when you were sanding.. it looks like it would be a tough job! Personally i love color & if you get lots of light, moody! But it all depends what the room is being used for & what's going in there, what color furniture or wood. All those things should be considered! A chill space with light colored or neutral furniture def needs moody walls for relaxation. If its A space for crafting, probably light walls for the most light to see well, especially if the wood furniture is dark. Just my thoughts or opinion!🤷‍♀️ I'd probably put the wall up to separate the laundry area too! Whatever you choose is going to be beautiful, you have great taste! It'll all come together great I'm sure!😊 Can't wait to see what your choices are! Have S blessed week!😊

Oh I was feeling for you watching you sand. I don't think that would be fun either, but you did an amazing job, and loved your dedication as you had to clean up so many times. Yes, hats off to folks that do this for a living! :) I would wall off the area where your water heater and laundry are, with a door for easy access. If you have a habitat for humanity near you, they may have doors at discounted prices. Maybe a double door for less drywall and sanding lol. I may have missed you talking about the ceiling in another episode, but maybe drywall that too if possible? I think the color you choose may depend on how you've decided to utilize the space. If you just want a cozy living/reading area maybe something moody? I know that seems to be trending for 2025 and may be fun to try. Maybe a moody brown or green? That would look lovely with your existing color palette. Or if you are choosing to use it as a craft space or office, maybe a light neutral? Can't wait to see what you decide. You have beautiful taste, so whatever you choose will be perfect. You got this Chelsea! :)

I am definitely leaning towards putting up that wall, especially because that back area would require a lot more work to finish and I don’t want to hold up this space getting done. Thank you!

Looks good, lots of work. How about a soft neutral, with each wall a pinch deeper.

You could go either way with the color, light n bright or alittle moody. Beige may be alittle boring. What about a green😊
