I was born & Bred in Castleton, I moved to Sheffield when I was 22 & married Karen, I worked at the cement works for 44 years until I took early retirement, I have lots of happy memories as a child exploring all those areas, Used to drive up Mam Tor before it collapsed for the last time, great video 👍
How interesting Andrew. We said you had a Derbyshire accent. A good reminisce for you. We’ve visited Castleton many times over the years but don’t recall being driven along the old road. What a beautiful area to grow up in. 👍 Thanks for tuning in. Cheers, Rob
Hello Colin, Hope our video brought some nice memories back for you. Really popular site, we loved it. Thanks for watching again and for the compliment. Have a good Christmas. Cheers, Rob & Gail
Hi Harry, We had a brilliant time exploring Castleton and really enjoyed the site. We’ll have to visit again as there is still lots to see and do in the area. Seasons greetings and happy touring for 2022. Best Regards, Rob & Gail
Great vlog mate We’re currently away for the weekend coddington at manor wood county park And love to stay for nee years eve Hope you and the good lady have a great Christmas and new year 👍👍
Hi Shaun, Just searched both sites you mention and both look good for us. Hope you had a great weekend and have a fab new year at Love to Stay. Sending best wishes from us both and thanks for watching, Rob & Gail 😀
Many thanks Mr G42 👍. Agree not the best route to take the caravan but a lovely walk through the pass. We really enjoyed our stay at the club site and had a great holiday. Festive wishes to you 🎅🏻 , Rob
Many thanks to you for watching and commenting 👍. You don’t realise how bad the subsidence is until you walk up there. A good area for drone footage. Cheers Rob & Gail
Good video Rob, thanks for sharing, love the site reviews you do, especially the CMC sites. Castleton isnt too far away so Ill add it onto my list. Look forward to seeing your next video in the new year.
Thanks for watching Brett, pleased you enjoy my site reviews. They’re not perfect but we do enjoy filming them. You won’t be disappointed with Castleton. Have a happy Christmas. Cheers, Rob
As usual an excellent vlog Robb - as one has come to expect from you !! Being a Manc, Peak District isn’t too far away from us yet have never been around the area although I remember Mam Tor road being closed in the 70’s. Sadly we had to cancel our last trip of the year due to snow but looking forward to next year . I was intrigued as to why you had to sit for an hour on arrival when there was loads of free pitches?. Thanks again for a raft of great vlogs, all very informative and well produced . Best wishes and have a Happy Christmas Howard
Hi Howard, Thank you for the huge compliment. Sorry to hear you had to cancel your last trip, very disappointing for you. I would highly recommend putting Castleton on your to do list being so close by. As for the arrival time, we’re so used to 12:00 we just turned up, as did lots of others. Shame they didn’t let us all on, some sites will. It’s a pity site staff don’t stagger lunch to let holiday makers on. Christmas wishes to you too. All the best, Rob
This is my local camp site.. only 12 miles from me or 18 miles when towing. Its really difficult to get on there at weekends...its always booked up well in advance.
It’s similar trying to get into Chatsworth club site too. Luckily we booked this one back in March. Great place the Peak District. Thanks for watching Peter and Maggie. All the best, Rob
Just re-watched this as we’re heading to Castletown CAMC next week. Which route did you take, we will be coming from the M1 from the Leeds / Wakefield area
We approached from the south east. For you it’s a bit difficult without avoiding the busy outskirts of Sheffield. Been looking at Google maps and my thoughts are, leave the M1 at junction 34 and take the A6109 to the A61. Then join the A57 towards Glossop. At Ladybower take the A6013 to the A6187 to Castleton. Not sure if this helps. Cheers Rob 👍
Fab review again Rob. Not been to Castleton with our van yet but it looks great. Thanks for sharing. Dave & Helen
Thanks very much for tuning in Dave & Helen. Would recommend adding this to your touring list for next time you’re in the area 👍. Cheers, Rob & Gail

Great video as usual. Last time we went there, the sat nav was determined to send up down Wynnets Pass. Not a good idea with a caravan.
Many thanks Mr G42 👍. Agree not the best route to take the caravan but a lovely walk through the pass. We really enjoyed our stay at the club site and had a great holiday. Festive wishes to you 🎅🏻 , Rob

Beautiful area Jon. Never tire of the Peak District. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers Rob
Off there later this month for a couple of nights 👍

@@robswiseways5697 Thanks. That the route I had planned, but noticed the CAMC directions direct you from Chesterfield.
Yawn.
Can’t win ‘em all. Thanks for watching 👍
