btw, which one would you say it is better in terms of reverse engineering purposes: Kvaser or PCan ? I happen to have already a Kvaser usbcan 2xHS.... It is just because Ive heard PeakCAN is much easier and better.... your opinion?
So how is the free PCAN-view different from PCAN-Explorer? For example, I'm interested in created a dbc files.. one for a canopen device, the other that is not canopen!
as always, master class!!

@@joseviyeira either one works in my opinion. both tools get the job done.
Hi. Are you using vcan for communication mode like loopback ??. Or you have a hard loopback ??
Is it possible to have some kind of gateway with PCAN, to split which message came from which side?
id recommend socketcan if you're using multiple interfaces. it's simply a more viable approach honestly

pcan explorer is 600 to 700 usd, is able to encode and decode messages into signals, and has feature add ons like gauges.
my recommendation is use kvaser dbedit3 or vector candb++ for dbc creation.
I may need to get out the CLi. Just kidding
lol, i prefer socketcan, but when I need log files from customers or clients, this is the easiest option I can present them
