@@glennvanzandt3011 Yes - it impressive as hell, and this video showcases it brilliantly. AND, real, talented singers sound MUCH better without the autotune! Not hitting the exact note is precisely what makes human singers sound so cool.
Sarah, Mickey Thomas is from Valdosta, Georgia. He learned to sing in church. He went on to join Jefferson Starship a few years after this. You should do "Jane" from Jefferson Starship, he does a great job on that song. Then, do "Awakening" which is a hell of a song. Can't recommend them both enough. I heard an interview with Mickey recently. He and Elvin Bishop were reminiscing and laughing about the 2nd resurrection of this song. It was big when it came out the first time ('75 I think). Then it hit again after appearing in the movie "Guardians of the Galaxy".
The video got cut short at the end. Anyway Sarah, your little unborn treasure, according to science, can actually hear the sounds, the vibs, of the music you are listening to, so keep on listening to the optimistic good vibs of music in the 50s to the 70s, early eighties and sing along and that little being will have a good start on being a happy little treasure when he/she breaths it's first breath. Congrats also.
Another great choice from the 70's, that was my teenage years. I would love to hear your reaction to Todd Rundgren Hello it's me, for some reason it brings me to tears when I hear it. Thank you and congratulations. Best wishes to you and your family.
Mickey Thomas is one of the greatest singers ever and still performing in 2024 with Starship. To me this is one of the greatest songs ever recorded He did a magnificent job with Starship after this band with JANE.Elvin Bishop did a great guitar solo and kudos to him and everyone involved making this such a great song.
Oh yes - Mickey Thomas! No Auto-Tune back then, just pure TALENT. What a great song.🤩
His voice is perfection!
Isn't is amazing how singers back then could, actually sing.😊
@@glennvanzandt3011 yep! It's few and far between these days.

One of my all-time favorites from the '70's. Perfection.

Elvin Bishop was the Guitarist, you. should listen to Jefferson Starship and their song ‘Jane’ which features Micky Thomas on vocals!
I came here to suggest Jane. I would have been shocked and a little disappointed if no one had already done that. Great suggestion!
@@FrancesThompson-e3m I saw Elvin bishop in concert. Got to meet him after his set. He’s a jerk. Great song though.
@@dtw63 sorry to hear that but not surprised. High percentage of these rock stars , movie stars are terrible people
@ I agree. They seem to think they’re above the people that enjoy their art. They forget they’re people too.
One of my top favorite songs ever.

What amazing music and Mickey's vocals paired with his main backup singer were golden.

Dang darlin. You wanna get married. Hahaha. You're so sweet. God bless you.
Oh that brought back some nice teen memories. 😊
Everybody will see this thumbnail & think the guy singing is Elvin Bishop, Elvin is the guitar player-came from the Butterfield Blues Band
Great song and reaction
Winery Dogs version is amazing too! This is always the best!
Elvin Bishop on slide guitar.
♥
At the end of the song Mickey Thomas walks away. "Yep, I've got this". ( Mic drop.)
THIS WILL BE YOUR FAVORITE I THINK FROM NOW ON- JOHN DENVER SINGING A LOVE SONG TO YOU CALLED- "FOR YOU"
A suggestion: Alan Parsons project "Games People Play" is a great one.
That's the live version, it's not as good as the studio version, this version is awful...
