      it wasn't about breaking up, Lennon was the one and only that wanted out, which pissed off and frustrated maccartney and became an asshole and start acting as if he was the owner of the band and wanted things to go his way that's how the argument with George happened and that's when he left and went to write that song and of course the whole wah-wah included all the fussing and fighting at that time mostly between Lennon and maccartney but, the song is directed mainly to maccartney..... maccartney: we can work it out, we can work it out....Lennon (the genious) life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend.....Cheers !

      I just read the description under the video for McCartney's "Too Many People" -- that song was said to be his response to Lennon bringing Yoko into everything they did; Lennon later wrote, "How Do You Sleep?" aimed at McCartney (over that and/or some contract issue). The description also mentioned this song, "Wah Wah," as George's own take on the Beatles' break-up. After listening to this song again after many decades -- and now knowing that background about the timing and nature of the song -- I'm going to assume George meant something along the lines of drama or arguments among his former bandmates and maybe their input on his own earlier music. Drama between Lennon and McCartney, and probably arguments by either of them about how they wanted George to play certain songs or Lennon's heavy criticism of the songs George tried to contribute over the years. If you listen to the lyrics again, he seemed to be thoroughly enjoying his newfound artistic freedom. ;) We miss you, George!

    • @catbird7007
      @catbird7007 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Or maybe he was referring to someone's (the public's? McCartney's?) whining about the Beatles' breakup. After all, McC's "Too Many People" could be a slam on both George and John for leaving. So, basically, George may be saying here that the fun and fame that he had being one of the Beatles was great, but that it's not all there is to his or anyone else's life.

      That's 100% because Phil Spector produced it. That's his hallmark - all of his producing sounds muddy and tinny. Aaaaaaand ADDITIONALLY ¤¤☆¤¤
      GEORGE wrote it during the breakdown-which subsequently became the break-up of The Beatles-during their rife-and tension fueled sessions of GET BACK which ultimately resulted in the LET IT BE album and film.
      Wah-wah was Harrison's way of saying "headache" as he had definitively decided to leave the Beatles mainly and most notably because of Paul's tyrannical behaviour within the group.
      Helping to aid in his decision were John & Yoko's heroin fueled histrionics.
