You guys are absolutely right!!! I used to work in a Hyundai dealership in Kerala some years back!! The amount of customers getting dissatisfied about the service was sky high!!! Every day in the morning and evening the employees had to hear the brunt of service manager for not reaching insane targets demanded from each of us. The advisers and technicians in effect used to do whatever possible to drain out the maximum amount of money from customers. I hardly worked for a year and the amount of harassment transferred from top to bottom which indirectly went to customer made me quit and run from there. Individual issues that you highlighted also happend while I was there. One I10 customers engine had an issue which was tossed around between dealership and the company because of which his new vehicle was there at dealership for around a year atleast and not sorted out till i was there at dealership. He used to come once in a while and literally cry looking at his vehicel
I was also a Service Advisor at Hyundai Vyttila, and I can read your emotions brother... Most customers are from Honda, who used the city, brio... Can't find the reliability here. Mostly, I felt sad for them..🥲 Haven't forgotten about the clutch issues for Elite i20 petrol & venue... Creta Power Window issues.. And so on ....

I too worked in a dealership in kerala.Management was only focussing on target and not bothered about improving basic things in the service centre. As a result there was no skilled technicians, A/c gas machine and alignment machine didnt work,No proper special tools etc.A/c gas was charged at a nearby local shop and alignment was billed to the customer whether it was done at a nearby shop or not.But finally everything was billed to the customer at dealership rates. While road testing the vehicles after service,I have experienced loose wheels, loose lower arms and tie rod ends and also loose mountings. Finally i too got fed up and left that place. The management there will never change their ways but they want us to work and obey whatever cheating they want us to do.

Hats off to you guys 💪💪💪♥️♥️. വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുമ്പ് തന്നെ team-bhp മാത്രമായി may be more than 10 years. ഇപ്പൊ കാണുന്ന & subscribe ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള ഏക channel talking cars aanu. You are great guys. From the bottom of my heart, really hope you can lead the 'GOOD' change that everyone will follow.
Haha, I have a perfect story for this occasion. My uncle bought a Tata Nexon couple years back. It's the facelifted version and not the older model. His daughter (my cousin) did not like the look of the front without the fog lamps (XM), and so they had them installed later. Couple months later, when she travelled to a neighboring district, and was gonna start the car to come back home, it simply won't start. Fortunately, since it was a long journey, and the reason was medical and that she'd be in pain after the treatment, she didn't go alone and had a driver. What followed was the usual painstakingly slow process of talking with the RSA and eventually after couple hours, a dude from the nearest service center turned up. She said he took some petrol from his Activa and poured it into something inside the bonnet of the Nexon (It's a diesel by the way). I don't remember if they got it started that day or they took a taxi home, but the car did it couple times after as well. Usually at crucial and important times. So they lost faith in the car to take it anywhere distant from the home. "Kadikkana patti" indeed. The service center was rude as usual and blamed the fog lamps for draining the batteries. But the funny part is, now you might have assumed they got the fog lamps installed from an aftermarket shop right? I sure did when she told me the story, but NO, they got it installed from the same service center🤣. AND, their solution to the problem, they unplugged the fog lamps and said it should be fine now. And gave a warning not to plug it back in. So to summarize, they installed brand new fog lamps after taking money from my uncle, which made the car unusable, then they unplugged the fog lamps and said not to plug it back in, if they want their car to function properly🤣. But wanna know what's funnier, since my cousin only wanted fog lamps to get rid of the ugly fog lamp covers, they are fine with it as well🤦. Now they want to install a music system, but is afraid of it making the car unusable. Some extra points worth noting, - The car doesn't even crank when the fault happens. So its probably not the batteries. -The car auto-fixes after couple hours. As in, it doesn't start now but might after couple hours or next day. So definitely not the batteries. P.S. Also that Nexon has something wrong with its clutch (sometimes vibrates like ABS) and the hill hold only works when it wants to. The response from the SC was that the XM does not have hill hold🤣🤣🤣.
There is no point in having just safety if the car doesn't function properly like a car. That's why if I'm spending 15 lakhs or above, I won't go for an Indian manufactured car. Tata and Mahindra have so many defected vehicles. If when other companies' 1 in 100 is defected, Indian companies' 20 cars are defected in 100. The overall quality is not reliable.
Its a 10,000rs accessory right ? I wanted to install it on my nexon ev, but they said NO electrical caccessories are approved by TATA for EVs. I mean, the fog lights are made by TATA and they are still not confident enough to allow sc people to install it (probably afraid of short circuit fires) . Its a sad thing.
It could be the engine immobilizer connected to the security system which does not recognise the chip in your keys , it's a common problem with new gen Tata cars . Check it and if it works let me know for courtesy sake.
The most loved thing about this channel is they have a very comical/sarcastic way of communicating things even for some serious matters which the consumers wouldn’t have thought about. For me watching them talk about stuffs is like watching a comedy. Relaxing feel. Kudos.

These two deserve a lot of praise but they don't get enough attention in this society where some people have taught us that a car is a thing with four tires and two lights. Anyway, all the best keep going😍😍😍😍
Do a video on car insurance and the claims on each category. I found there is a wide misunderstanding, according to most of the people the B2B insurance is a fluke and 3rd party is better because it's pay less and B2B doesn't cover any cosmetic parts and electronic parts at all.
Insurance companies do a lot of fraud. I have a case going on where the accident happened almost 14 yrs ago. I got the compensation, but case is still not done because court ordered that the compensation amount be recovered from the driver. Driver has now counter sued asking why he should pay since he has an active insurance policy. My leaning is that even if you have an insurance policy don't believe the insurance company blindly thinking they will handle the case.
Excellent and bold post. This will help lot of viewers. Consumer courts have long delays and presiding officers are often appointed based on political allegiance and sometimes corruption and not merit. Being a lawyer, I have not found exceptions anywhere in Kerala in the past 15-20 years. Yet, manufacturers have lost cases! Likewise, some manufacturers, Volvo in particular, (I own one), do not sell parts to customers, even though that’s against competition law. As a customer, one is forced to get your vehicle repaired at the ASS even if the service is poor or sometimes shady and rip off pricing. And, mass customer mindset that prefer to buy a car with only one airbag instead of what is required for safety if the price is low also doesn’t help. Thank you for the post, that shines light on manufacturer malpractices, often cheered by retail agencies. 👍🏿
I remember back in the day when #safercarsforindia campaign was started by automobile magazines after raising the issue regarding Datsun Go seatbelt and nissan ceo's careless reply. The same media firms now talk nothing regarding such issues. A major hindi channnel posted a one year review of OLA S1 pro, yet they mentioned nothing about the front fork. Big hat's off to talking cars presenters for making this video.
Please start same English conversations or provide subtitles..njan malayali anu but your contents should be seen all over india for sure it’s true content ❤
Ownership groups can help this to push to higher level. Am part of Jeep Bangalore club we had seen some issue with few models and with help of admins of the group it pushed to very higher level and found resolution. So if we raise one voice nobody will listen we need a group of people to raise. But it’s a shame when manufacturers and dealers pushing the lemons to market..
If the OLA issue (Almost 20 vehicles) happened in other countries, the authorities must have suspend the sales of this product until they have a corrective measure since it is a serious safety incident. Manufacturer should have been taken this incidents as high priority to find a solution and an aftersales safety recall must have been announced for existing products running on the road.
I'm glad you guys talk about such topics. We as consumers are spending a fortune of our earned money to buy cars these days. We as a consumer must be a sound audience to the unfair practices. We must be more aware of our rights and protect and help one among the other in such situations.
One thing is for sure- if you keep up with this honesty and quality information, everybody will respect you no matter how much less monetary benefits you make
I own a S1 pro which was bought back 2 months ago in November 2nd week, within the first month i had a motor sensor fail on me which the service people took more than a week to fix, they said it was just a sensor replacement so no idea why it took then a week to do it, on top of that a week after i got the scooter i started to hear rattling noise from the rear and front handler/suspension. I looked it up online and there was few people trying to fix it DIY style which it turned out was just a lack of grease for the suspension joins and unevenly tightened screws for the plastic cover over the handle which meant some area of the edges where both panels meet was lose and it was rubbing or hitting together. I told the service people about this when they took my scooter in for the motor sensor fix but i got the scooter back all dusty and still the sound issues not fixed (motor issue was fixed) since then i tried to call on the machine number from ola but no response then recently i got in contact with a different showroom in edappally kochi and they’ve asked me to bring the scooter in even tho i live 50km away and i was promised free home service/ pick up n drop off. Ive made my mind up because I’m only 22 years old and this is my first vehicle I’ve bought with my own hard earned money and bought it my name, during the purchase period it was more of a headache because at first i went into a ola showroom to test ride it (i booked for a test ride through their website but just kept getting fake promises on which day they will provide the test scooter n all) when i went into the scooter i was ready to buy it but i asked them for the cheapest emi available they can offer me so they introduced me to their bank sales reps which there was 5 or so and each representing different banks but ive never even heard of any of those bank names and i got quoted a emi for 30months with 9.9 interest rate and a down payment of ₹15k which i was ready to proceed with because I thought tat was the cheapest available but for some lucky reason the bank sales reps app wasnt loading for hours nd i left the showroom in the evening empty handed and empty stomach because i was there for nearly 5 hours and they didnt even provide a glass of water, i had to ask for some and they offered me a water bottle which belonged to one of the workers. After i got home i did more googling only to find out through the ola app i was eligible for a loan for 36 months with interest rate of 8.9. I called the showroom guys nd asked about this and to my surprise they told me its my fault that I wasn’t aware of the fact u will get a better deal though the ola app than visiting a showroom and it says it on the brochure apparently, i got so heated and asked them straight up its their job as a sales rep to inform the customer about all of this and who even reads a brochure before visiting a showroom… so if a old person came in to buy one and he was so access to internet or anything then how will he know? I ended that phone call quite aggressively hoping it would be the last time ill have to deal with a ola post purchase issue like this but unfortunately its not been the case and since the first day of me owning its just been worries and rattling sounds and software bugs and malfunctions. Every time i see someone else on the road with an ola i just ask myself or sometimes the other rider too if they’re facing any issues nd u guessed it, im not the only one. Im going to take the scooter into the different showroom tomorrow and if my problems aint fixed then its gonna be war from now on, any other ola customers reading this can join me if they have the dignity and self respect because we bought it with our own money and the scooter the company promised wasn’t this scooter so they falsely advertised the scooter to get sales and now they think they can just ignore it? Ola needs to answer in some ways.
Excellent topic, in my experience the authorised service centers are the main problem. Had terrible issues with Tata till warranty was there as service was done by TASS. Now, since the car is serviced by an independent garage in Coimbatore, absolutely no issues. Not single outing TATA, have heard such issues with other manufacturers too.
This is exactly what i am facing and fighting now with Tata Motors and their SC in Trivandrum. Reported an uneven engine noise in my Nexon and later on SC finds out that a broken bolt was observed in oil sump. Vehicle is in extended warranty but after 20 days of to and fro communications between SC and Tata, they informed me that I have to pay a minimum of 6k for a single part as part of engine opening and fixing. As Tata refused to reimburse the cost for certain parts to the dealer. There was no proper response even from the CRM of the dealer till then. I refused to pay any money because the issues arose due manufacturing defects as this reported within 4 years of purchase and the vehicle is under extended warranty. And told to report the same to Tata motors. I have again complained about these to Tata customer care that i will not be paying any money for this issue. Also I have raised a grievance in National consumer helpline portal (which is a very useful official portal for any product or service related grievances). Later on Tata motors assigned the compliant to the regional office and dealer. NCH also forwarded the complaint to the dealer. After 24 days SC contacted me and informed that the Tata motors has now agreed for a 'good will warranty' to fix the issues without charging the customer!! This is the system we are having. Those who don't counter have to pay charges for an issue in the engine happened due to the quality issue in manufacturing. This has to change and customers need to be united and raise their voice collectively. You guys show the guts to voice it. Kudos 👌
Boneless social media chit chat journalists hide many things for their bread and butter needs. But, you people are awesome❤️ You are the special... Thanks, Vivek &JD... 🥰💐
The issue with the world is "fans" and "believers". The companies have created such a feeling in the minds of the people. If someone bashed at something, there'll always be "fans" of the brand who defends it. People need to realize these are corporate companies and they're not there to be your best friend.
Kudos to you guys for bringing up something like this when other mainstream media don't even speak a word. And that's genuinity which has always defined talking cars😃😃 Hats off👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Talking cars a channel that not just reviews and talks random things but very relevant things that needs to be addressed and that the so called mainstream channels fail to highlight for their selfish benefits ..Great job guys..
Thank you for doing this video. This was very informative and necessary. Kudos to your bravery and commitment to speak about these issues. Let's keep talking!

I own a S1 pro and was one of the first 40 to get it from Ola campus on Dec 2021 and mine was the one and only scooter to be replaced with entirely new one in India. Yes there are several issues and luckily mine still surviving. I check the suspension everyday before taking out. I shifted from Bangalore to Chennai and found Chennai service center is better than Bangalore in terms of hearing the customer.
Brothers, opinion about tata harrier please? Pani kittumo.. from Service center or with the car itself?. The way the car drives is what attracted me towards Harrier (still little over priced for me, somehow managing the budget). Kindly comment. Ta N about this video- outstanding 👏 👌. Keep up the good work.
The same thing with Toyota and the BS6 vehicles. There are severe complaints with the injectors and Adblue. There were several cases where even TKM had no clue what was wrong.
Thank you and great respect for you. Can you guys make a video on how to minimise manipulation by the manufactors while buying new poroduct and also how to follow up if we end up owning a faulty product.

This is why I wait for your content. Spot on. I had similar experience for my Polo, when I was asked to change ABS sensor 8 times…2 times on 4 wheels .. but the dealer n VW acknowledged finally and did do it for free .. but the experience was irritating.. As you said , first thing , most of the time , if you face such issue , you are on your own..
@@cyrilelanjithara6284 actually prefer Toyota's service over Suzuki's but urban cruiser wasn't launched when I bought vitara brezza in 2020. They told me it would take a minimum of 3 months to deliver an urban cruiser and the vitara was available the next week. Also why would I buy a Suzuki car from Toyota when I can buy it cheaper and faster from Suzuki.
This is what I call the real auto generalism I think this is what the main stream auto journalist should be doing and here you guys are doing it for us. Please don't get me wrong. I think you guys have a more loyal fan following then any other TH-cam or printed media on Indian automobiles has. These are the burning issues that our motorists are facing. And thank you for bringing it up. Hope this paves a clear path for others to follow and educate our general public.
Thank you so much guys for doing this episode, I really appreciate it. But as you said there is a limitation or risk factors for a common man to deal with the manufacturers or the dealership. So being a great influencer in this field can you guys take an initiative to help/guide these people to deal with it. I believe all of your viewers are ready to stand together if you guys can take an initiative and lead us . Even I too had such bad experience from my car dealership but i don't really have an idea where to take the next step. Being a great fan of your channel hopefully waiting for your response on this.
The auto manufacturers are a powerful lobby who would have greased the politicians to keep the lemon laws from coming. Also the case with contractors and builders who design and make our roads and highways. The revised road safety bill had provisions to penalise and even sue builders of highways and roads if accidents can be attributed to poor design or quality of work. But did not materialise into law as the lobbies and protestations watered it down to nothing. As you guys have rightly said human life does not have any value in this country
Lemons are something which isn't discussed at all in India. Not just automobile, so many such cases with mobile phones which customer ends up adjusting with it. Really appreciate bringing up this topic. On a side note I remember my friend who had a sports version of a previously popular entry level sedan (which was actually a nice car). Got front strut (or whatever the McPherson stuff is called) replaced free of cost by company at least 3 time (if not more) as the company didn't had any solution for the issue. Such companies also existed (clue)
Very much relevant topic today and you guys ignited the discussion.. We as consumers should promote/share such videos so that there is more discussion on this topic and it gets the necessary attention, which hopefully will lead to proper laws for the consumer protection.
This has happened to me with my Vespa scooter. Firstly, why I choose the vehicle thinking about its quality. Under 3000 km, I was unable to start the engine. It took a long time for me to find RSA, and that too I had to pay money for it. The scooter stayed in their workshop for about 1.5 months, saying some unreasonable excuses. At last, I had to contact the National Consumer Helpline and the service centre manager contacted me within 24 hours, and the vehicle was ready within the next 12 working hours.
No wonder, because you guys always give us the best content and honest reviews... Kudos 👌 for this episode especially when every media is not mentioned in this type of serious matters. Thank you ❤️☺️
Exactly this is what is relevant for the current scenario ... 🔥🔥 No customers are cared after sales ... No companies have awareness on what they built and brought to the market... Not only for the automobile industries but also for all the products in the market... I'm also facing the same issue on my Xiaomi mobile phone. I Sincerely wish for a liberal and transparent legal system that could understand the problems of consumers and find the solution.
Bang on point!! Just a feel, Mahindra and Tata are better at proactively trying to sort out issues compared to other manufacturers. I have seen cases where Mahindra goes all out to replace things, their CCM and RCCM connects to customers directly and give assurances about the product and that the issue would be taken care of.
2012 when the renault duster was launched, I persuaded my father to switch from innova to buy the duster. We got the car delivered by September Last. Few weeks after the purchase, the drive shaft broke, which they replaced for free. On December 12 2012, we took the car to the showroom for first service. The showroom staff crashed it on the way to the service station. We demanded a new car. Since my father was handicapped, he had a road tax exemption. The showroom demanded road tax to be paid by my father. We made a mistake and refused, imagining that filing a case against the showroom, we'll get justice, which was exactly what the showroom wanted. It's been 10+ years. No new car, no compensation.
I too have similar experience with my KIA Seltos GTx Plus and my issue is still not resolved.. The reverse camera won’t turn ON if I start my car in a particular sequence😮

You guys are the only ray of hope for consumers among many youtubers
Indeed we needed an episode on this subject. Can you people do an episode on Pre delivery inspection and a checklist also
Haha, I have a perfect story for this occasion.
Some extra points worth noting,
- The car doesn't even crank when the fault happens.
😂 😂, i too have a bs6 nexon n agree with you. A very safe vehicle but not a quality vehicle 👌🏽

Yes please
This one please
Insurance companies do a lot of fraud. I have a case going on where the accident happened almost 14 yrs ago. I got the compensation, but case is still not done because court ordered that the compensation amount be recovered from the driver. Driver has now counter sued asking why he should pay since he has an active insurance policy. My leaning is that even if you have an insurance policy don't believe the insurance company blindly thinking they will handle the case.

Great respect to Talking Cars for presenting this topic... ❤
Yes this team knowledge should reach wide across India.
Knowledge liberates from bondage!
You educate our consumers..Great effort team. 💪💪
Thanks for standing up against this catastrophe 💯
Thank you for notifying issues related to buying an automobile. Although it was disturbing to hear keep doing videos like this. ✌️
Yet again, something that not many have talked about. Great topic!
One thing is for sure- if you keep up with this honesty and quality information, everybody will respect you no matter how much less monetary benefits you make
This is what a customer want. Someone who talk for them. Really appreciate you guys👏👏
Thank you for talking about this.
Only Automobile Journalist in kerala who talk the fact...

Ta
N about this video- outstanding 👏 👌. Keep up the good work.
Appreciate the courage, thank you!❤
The same thing with Toyota and the BS6 vehicles.

Well Said. Even for new cars its a difficult task to issues sorted even for the 1st 3 services. Sale person will convience the maximum to sale a car.

Ahem.. Aspire sports?
This was in 2006
Very much relevant topic today and you guys ignited the discussion..

The issue about EV which they are talking about is none other than tata nexon ev 😊
