- Miami International Airport is one of three major airports in South Florida. In this video, I show how you can get to Downtown Miami for only $2.25. By no means is this the fastest option or the only option. It can get quite confusing where to go. In total it took me about an hour to get to Downtown. However, most of the time was spent waiting for the train to arrive.

ActionKid, you have no idea how much good you're doing for the Miami community. Public transit is a HOT issue right now in Miami. And your videos are shedding lots of light to this issue. We need more people talking about this!

That is super weird that both trains come, and they’re out of service on either side of platform. That’s not how it should be. No train should ever be out of service. They should be able to make a loop around and go south towards downtown.
Yes, very weird the same train was out of service on both sides of the platform.
That really doesn’t make any sense that both trains on both platforms would be out of service.
Maybe it had something to do with Train Operators hours? not sure what FL labor laws our by i know some state say you not work more then 8 hours/day (40/week). And Not all Trains services can do a lop. BART (SF Bay Area) when it gets to end of line, train normally turns around however it departs from the same platform it arrives on. There must be a track switch over though. Just not a loop.

You can take the Metrobus (7, 20 eastbound) at the Airport Station to Downtown because the MetroRail Orange Line go every 30 minutes. I usually use the GO app to know which one is coming early.

What’s funny is that you can take a really long train ride in New York City from like Brooklyn to The Bronx and pass through queens and Manhattan for just 2.75 as long as you don’t exit the station. With omny, you have a weekly cap of 33 dollars.
I live in Sydney, so we have good public transport. However, we have a daily cap of 17 AUD (less than 12 USD), so the longest ride will come to this amount depending on where you depart and arrive into. Of course, you have to tap on and tap off both, or else you get charged the daily cap. However, the airport has an entrance and exit fee, so it costs more if you try to take the train to and from the airport.
I once spent 26 days in Barcelona. I would say they had the best public transport system, cause it costed only 20 euros (less than 25 usd) for an entire month, and a variety of transport options exist, and you can go wherever you wanted.
Tokyo and Seoul have good public transport options, but they only take cash payments. I don’t know if they have daily or weekly caps though.

Seems when the tram was leaving MIA the Spanish instructions about the doors closing come after the door starts closing already. Again as the warn you to grab a handle before the move. The Spanish warning comes after the train starts to move. Almost useless, imagine if those were the English warnings the doors were closing in on you the the warning comes on?
Miami and key west almost feel like they are part of some Spanish-speaking country and not the USA. I mean almost everyone in both cities spoke Spanish, and all the signs are translated to Spanish.

Every Metrorail station have the train schedule in a scrolling neon sign on the platform telling you how many minutes until the next train is coming for you to catch. So I don't understand why you were confused about when the trains would be ready to transport you to your destination.

Great video so I "thumbed UP" and subscribed! I'll check out your other videos soon. As for this video, thanks for sharing and making your comments. I like your comment about the Miami Downtown train needing a 'light mopping'. I do find the train and metro mover to be very convenient for Downtown Miami; especially for $2.25. I find it still takes a lot of walking at the airport but not much to do there. I am hopeful they will extend the Metro Mover downtown not only because it's convenient but QUIET, you don't hear it like you do a big city subway.
One last comment about the service at the airport. There should be a sign saying which train is NEXT and a TIME. The fact that 2 trains came and went OUT OF SERVICE is very confusing, international travelers must be very confused so a little signage goes a LONG WAY. They could have used the welcome sigh you cited on the way down the escalator. European trains always have these, American train stations need to up their game! But again, great video and keep traveling.

Wondered that too and looked it up. Per Wikipedia, the Miami Budd cars are retired. I believe Baltimore's Budd cars from the joint procurement are still running though replacements are due to arrive this year.

A gimbal is not a tripod. I would investigate that further. I understand a tripod can be a safety hazard for other people, but you are holding the gimbal in your hand. They may need to be educated.
