Except Emppu (the guitarist) - always messing around smiling and making it all seem like it was all just ordinary and easy daily stuff. (But sometimes there's The Look in his face, that only says: amazing, i know).
It's a bit like watching a high class balett - they make it look so easy and light (But still, don't even think about trying,it'll wreck your brain -not to mention your muscles & bones)
@@sateentuoksu Good comparison. Every Nightwish concert is sort of a metal musical - the theatrical performance is as important as the music, and they have to do both at the same time. Most of what's happening on the stage has been rehearsed and synchronized, but there must always be room for improvising, goofing around and occasionally screwing up. :) Otherwise it would've become boring and repetitive real fast.
Their shows still kick arse and they still enjoy what they do after all these years, which is part of what makes them so awesome - in addition to them being top class musicians who have mastered their craft to an extremely high level. Let's hope it stays that way for many more years to come.
One thing I will never be able to understand though is how Tuomas is still able to play the keyboards while headbanging like crazy. This man must possess some hidden superhuman powers. But then again, he doesn't seem to age either, so I'm becoming increasingly suspicious of what he's actually drinking during the shows. We all think it's wine, but... I mean, it's red.👀

This concert in front of 82,000 was Floor Jansen performing 15 songs all written for the previous two singers, Tarja (operatic) and Anette (poppy) and taking them to another limit. With the band only ten months, over 6ft tall, Dutch and has been singing metal in good bands since 16 years old. She has her own TH-cam channel with excellent covers, chats and vocal coaching.

Yes - there is an "easter egg" to be found. Best seen in Wembley 2015 or Mexico City - do not watch the Cruise Ship version - camera angles are all wrong - because you do need to see who is singing what!
Greeting from the home of Nightwish - Finland! As you clearly appreciate the show aspect of live music you should blow your mind by watching "dark chest of wonders" from the beginning of the Wacken show. But here is a thing most reactors miss out - watch it from the beginning of the full wacken show video, so you grasp the magnitude of this bands touring. This "unknown" band has had a huge army of fans behind it for decades. They have just stayed barely below the radar in most countries , as the genre "symphonic metal" is such a niche.
And dont be fooled its a one show wonder - they have tons of live shows, also in youtube. Wembley, Tampere, Sao Paulo, lately Hellfest and Deichbrant.. and they DELIVER - EVERY -TIME. 🤘

Great reaction guys, since you are new to Nightwish I think you should know that Floor was diagnosed with breast cancer in the month of November but she already had surgery and is recovering little by little mainly emotionally, but she has already returned to the shows on the European tour, in january she will undergo radiotherapy and God willing she will be 100%, hugs from Brazil.

Although the band is Finnish their 3rd female vocalist isn’t, she is Dutch. Floor was born on Februari 21st, 1981 in Goirle the Netherlands. At the age of 16 she started her career (initially) just as the background singer from the Dutch metal band ‘After Forever’ in 1997, but real soon she took over the lead until early 2009 and the band fell apart. Parallel she studied at the Dutch Rock Academy in Tilburg starting in 1999 where she graduated in 2003 and spent two years on classical training with the National Conservatory. She studied Musical Theatre and one year Opera. She plays guitar, piano and flute and has completed 12 years of music studies. She’s a Light Lyric Soprano and her vocalrange runs from E3 to D6. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons.
On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ‘ReVamp’, which was disbanded in September 2016. In August 2010 Jansen was a guest in the TV program De tiende van Tijl. In that program she sang an aria by Puccini. From October 1, 2012 (while she was within ReVamp, but recovering from a burnout) Floor replaced Anette Olzon as the singer of Nightwish halfway their Imaginaerum World Tour. After one year (shortly after the Wacken Open Air festival concert 2013) on October 9th 2013, it was announced that she was to become the group's regular new front singer.

Floor and her husband (Hannes van Dahl, drummer of Sabaton) met while his band was touring with her previous band, ReVamp. He was playing Pantera in the dressing room as she walked by. She popped in, offered him a cigar and they shared some whisky. They've been together ever since.

For something really weird react to "Epica(Ft Floor) - Sancta Terra (retrospect)". This singer and another one like it with a full orchestra. The bass player can also sing quite nicely (as he did in this song). Have a look at "Nightwish - High Hopes(end of era)" , a Pink Floyd cover, so also with decent guitars.

Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora.
Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy.
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F5).
She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉.
Floor Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. She studied musical theatre and a year of opera. There's over 20 years of music for you to check out, and no two songs are the same. There's been 3 female vocalists, Tarja - very operatic vocal style, Annette - pop rock style, then there's Floor - any bloody style she feels like! 😁 Floor has worked very hard to get her voice to where it is, which is just on another level. Marko the very talented bass playing singer has sadly left but there is plenty to hear from him over the years.
One of the many things I love about Nightwish is there are no egos, they just have a great time playing together, you will often see them smiling at each other. Check out the islander live at tempere where Floor becomes the backing vocalist and is genuinely happy doing it 😁

Been at two of their shows, latest on Wembley Arena in November. I could not recommend it more, easily the two best gigs I have been at. That is coming from someone normally leaning more to the Maiden, AC/DC and Manowar style.

You guys should check out "Master Passion Greed", maybe their heaviest song. There is no live version available and there won´t be any. Master Passion Greed was written while Tuomas was full of anger and despair and you really hear that in the song. A brilliant masterpiece and I would give my first born to hear that song live, but it won´t happen. Also Master Passion greed has no female voice in it, it´s only Marko the bassist.

Very nice reaction to one of their heavier songs. I absolutely love this song cause you can feel the energy of it through the video. But after seeing them live I can tell you not compares. If I can suggest your next song, it would be Song of Myself. The fun thing is Wacken Open Air is a festival, there were 82,000 people there and while they weren't all their fans, I' pretty sure nearly everyone became fan right there and then🤘🏽

I hope you guys appreciate that you have opened a large can of worms - Nightwish is the gateway band for European metal - symphonic, prog, etc. But strangely, lurking in this area is a fantastically talented Canadian artist, Devin Townsend, little known in North America but huge in Europe. Two suggestions to dip your toes: Kingdom, EMGtv and Deadhead, Royal Albert Hall. He has tons of other stuff but those are two good introductions to who he is. And you can link Devin back to Nightwish through Anneke van Giersbergen who collabs with him, and through Arjen Lucassen who are fellow Dutch and linked to Floor. Along that route are a huge rabbit hole of other metal artists.
Kingdom is one of my favorite songs. We love Devin! You're right. We should do his material! He's amazing 🤘
@@ALHSY I grew up about 15 kilometres away from Devin in the Vancouver area, and we are almost the same age, but I never heard of him until last year, linked through the European symphonic metal community.

When you’ve done an array of Nightwish songs to get a feel for their range, you guys might want to give a listen to a lesser known song of theirs - Master Passion Greed. Not as common to be reacted to as it has no music video and it’s never been played live. It is a song written about someone who pissed them off! It’s probably the heaviest song they’ve done!
