Well Aaron, you are all about showcasing the technical side of fire alarm systems aren't you? First I find your video on using an MP3 board to give your panel the ability of voice evacuation, and now I find this one, showing that it's ACTUALLY POSSIBLE to run Genesises as 4-wire! I genuinely thought that Edwards was the one brand that didn't have ANY kind of "selective silence" option, given the apparent lack of an "Edwards Sync" option on panels and no sync module either, but I guess I was wrong! Just like with all other selective silence-capable 2-wire devices, it's impossible to code the horn to a specific code (like marchtime) other than code 3 or continuous, but it's still better than nothing I suppose. Thanks for showcasing this, I'll be sure to buy a Signal Master if I ever buy a 2-wire Edwards/EST horn/strobe (or chime/strobe).
Actually you can code the genesis series to March time with the sync module. Not sure you can do that with any other 2 wire devices, but if you look up the specs, you can code genesis horn strobes with the module
I have a 10UD, the 10ud-7 has a switch mode power supply aka filtered DC; so i’m not sure how to compare them, especially since the 10 is good for use with mechanical horns as opposed to the 5. but overall that series is great and has amazing program flexibility, i’d say they’re the most advanced modern conventional system
@@Aaronproductions thanks! I’ll do with the notifier because I only have common alarms that are everywhere, and it’s really all I need to start off my first system. Also yeah I agree. They have an SFP-10UD at my school and it’s pretty nice. I’m okay with the fact that it’s not the easiest panel to use because I found a good deal.

Do you have your MS-5UD still? I am getting a Notifier SFP-5UD and I know a lot about it but my main question is, “Is it good panel?”
