No Muslim ever claimed that prophets are sinless this video is hilarious, if you read the quran itself, there is a huge clear verse that states that prophet Muhammed sinned when he ignored a blind man, they're just humans who were sent by god to inform people, not some pure creatures. Unlike ur imaginary 1+1+1 = 1 that used to pee and poo and feel hunger as well as committing genocide on the enemies of Christ, yet somehow you guys believe he is a god

The best version of the Bible is the one you actually read. Outside of a few false translations (like the Passion or the New World) created only to push a specific agenda, you can't go too far wrong with any mainstream version.
But the Douay-Rheims is, at best, obsolete. It's from the 16th century! It is an English re-translation of the 4th century Latin translation, in order to help Catholics transition away from worship in Latin. There is no real reason for a modern reader to use it.
Even Catholics don't use it any more, as they have switched to the NABRE (New American Bible Revised) or the NRSV (New Revised Standard Version), both of which are available free on Bible Gateway. If you're considering becoming Catholic, you should use one of those. The NRSV is more widely used outside of Catholicism, especially in scholarly circles. (If you're not specifically looking for a Catholic Bible, I think the ESV is the best all around version - it's fairly easy to read, and much more accurate than anything easier).

Jesus included. It was Muslims that spoke out against what happened with at the Olympics with the recreation of the last supper representing Jesus as an overweight woman. The use of these comics by the poster is for nothing more than to stir the pot since he knows Muslims get highly offended by these and those simple minded Christians who won't give any of his arguments or evidences a second thought or research will walk away with an imprinted image of Islam being inferior. It's a low blow in my opinion, because if he really believed these videos to be beneficial and worth what they say they are, he wouldn't feel the need to add an extra layer of ''Aha Gotcha because I used the Chad face and Muslims are the chuds''.

If that wasn't bad enough, she remains, apparently, completely unaware or unconcerned with the double standard there. They can insult our God, which is not a man, but we can't insult a man, who is a man? Some of us Christians get killed over this even if it's just a criticism not meant to be offensive (and they kinda defended such executions too, which is kinda hurtful).
I don't think offending each other is the way forward, but if that hadn't happened, I assure you I would have tried to be patient with her. I understand where you're coming from, but there's a key difference when it comes to these 'low blows' and poking fun at the other side when it comes to this discourse. You can watch as many Muslim apologist videos as you like and you'd be hard pressed to find any that directly insult Jesus, or Mary, or draw weird caricatures about them or try to paint the stories about them in a bad light, but just 1 or 2 videos into Christian apologist content and all you will find is hate filled propaganda. Muslims don't hate Christians. If they do make jokes or poke fun, it's at the Christian Apoligist themselves. Whereas Christians (not all, just most who are involved in this apologetics scene) seems to have this internal hatred inside them for all Muslims, Islam is a horrible way of life and the Prophet Muhammed is the devil incarnate.
When Muslims make videos discussing problems with the doctrine of trinity or the corruption of the previous texts or original sin, they discuss actual reasons and give good arguments. All the comments from Christians are no arguments back but just insults to Islam, Muslims and Prophet Muhsmmed.
When Christians make videos discussing problems with Islam's doctrines, they go all over the place trying to prove a point or paint a picture that fits their narrative, and when Muslims make arguments in their comments they're just overshadowed by 'extremist' Christians who seem to know everything that islam is about just from watching 1 or 2 testify videos.
One last thing i'd like to point out is that there's a difference between offending someone by mistake and personally intentionally offending them just because you know you can.
Once again I apologise on behalf of your friend for what seems like a lack of consideration and education, if you'd like to discuss or debate I'd be ready to engage in a civil discussion.

2:30 Literally the next verse says that Allah guided them and they repented
2:38 It was true that he lied about destroying the idols and he made it seem like it was the biggest idol that did it, but it was in order to prove a point to not worship these idols because they can’t protect themselves when they’re considered a god.
2:41 in 20:40, if you read the tasfir (i.e explanation) of the verse, it was that he killed the man by mistake. In 28:15, the context was that the man that he killed was a kafir (non-believer, polytheist, etc.) and he was attacking a muslim brother in defense for him.
2:43 3 answers, 1. Our prophets (A.S) don’t have nafs (i.e the desire to do anything sexually or romantically with a woman that isn’t his wife) so it’s not possible for Yusuf (A.S) to want to do that. 2. It was actually the opposite way around which the woman wanted to intercourse with him if you read the verse before with context. 3. It says in the exact verse that he WOULD’VE done it if he had not seen the evidence of his lord. (Which he has.)
2:50 They’re also humans like me, you, and who else. The only difference they make between them and us is that they were revealed revelations. The only sin they never do (Or type of sin) is major sins.
3:16 again, if you read the tafsir, the blind man was saying loudly and repeatedly to the prophet (A.S) to teach him the Quran, which the prophet (A.S) immediately responded. As well, the blind man interrupted the prophet (A.S) while he was teaching other people of the Quran.
3:33 Yes Isa (A.S) is sinless, but thats because every son of Adam (A.S) will be sinful. (i.e every human that came originally from Adam (A.S), which is everyone.) Except, Isa (A.S) isn’t exactly the son of adam, since he was literally spoken into existence by god. Not a part of god, or is god, or anything like that, just spoken existence into. Thats why he’s sinless, and as well how he didn’t die by crucifixion and went back to heaven to god never dead.
If you want the discuss more about Islam, I’m completely free to do so. If it turns into a debate though, then I’d rather not go back and fourth trying to disapprove each other and just keep it civilized without any personal insults, inshallah may allah guide you into islam amen, masalamma.

You give some interesting comments, but the main point is that we can look at Jesus the Messiah - agreed to be unique in many ways, and sinless in every way - and struggle to understand why Jesus would be Allah's penultimate prophet, when he would send someone so much more normal, and a sinner, for his final revelation to us. It seems that Jesus is greater than Muhammad in every way.
Why would Allah allow the revelation given to this unique man get so corrupted, to the point of allowing a whole religion to commit Shirk over him?
Especially when he has shown that he is fully capable of preserving a message with fairly low levels of loss or corruption. Even if we discount the New Testament, the Torah and the Qur'an have both survived fairly well, with minimal variations.
Why did Allah send the greatest man who ever lived to be his second-to-last prophet - and then how did he fail to preserve this man's revelation?

    • @hersh3445
      @hersh3445 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@MatthewFearnley 1. Salam, I wouldn’t say that Muhammed (A.S) is just a normal human and a sinner. Yes, he is a sinner but he’s made many miracles happened like Jesus (A.S) and Musa (A.S) (examples like: Splitting the moon in half, rode a flying horse to heaven, healed an eye of one of his companions, etc.) and when he does a minor sin by accident (which is the only type of sin that he can do,) he repents afterwards.
      2. The reasons why books like the Torah and the bible have been corrupted, is because they weren’t guaranteed to not be changed and distorted unlike the Quran. Another reason why those books got corrupted except the Quran is to put a test for the Jews and Christians to preserve them.
      3. As well, why we have the Prophet Muhammed (A.S) as the last prophet is because the Torah and the Bible were failed to be preserved. If the Bible did succeed in being preserved and showed the teachings of true monotheism, then Jesus (A.S) would be our last prophet instead of Muhammed (A.S) But, because the Bible and the Torah weren’t successfully preserved properly, we had been given the Quran with Prophet Muhammed (A.S) being revealed the Quran, lectured people of the Quran, and given us the Sunnah (ie: how to pray, acts the Prophet (A.S) did, etc.)

      @@hersh3445 Hi.
It's contested whether Muhammad did any miracles. But more concerning is that he sinned against a holy God. Even if he later repented. Miraculous powers are one thing, but what really sets God apart is his holiness and his moral perfection.
Any amount of sin reveals corruption in the heart, and noone with a corrupt heart can stand in God's presence. We all need mercy from a holy God - and Muhammad is just like us in that regard. Only Jesus can stand before him in his own righteousness.
The "testing for preservation" idea seems very ad hoc. And why the deescalation?
Jesus is greater than Muhammad - so much so, that even if he wasn't divine, the New Testament authors thought he was.
The final revelation should have been the most impressive. But Muhammad was an anticlimax. A sinner, born to two ordinary parents, who just like us, cannot stand before a truly holy God by trusting in his own goodness.

@@MatthewFearnley Where was it contested that the Prophet's (A.S) miracles didn't happen? And the same thing about Jesus's (A.S) Miracles could be said the same thing. Show proof of text saying that his miracles are fake.
And again about Muhammed (A.S) sinning, he's sinful because he's a son of Adam and again, because Adam (A.S) ate from the tree which god told him not to, him and including everyone related to him will be sinful. So, because Muhammed (A.S) is a son of Adam, he'll will be sinful but only to do minor sins.
It's true consistently sinning will lead corruption to the heart, but repenting for your sins in a genuine matter removes the corruption. As well, Allah loves who repents.
Yes, Muhammed (A.S) is human like us, but he's a messenger of god that's been revealed the Quran by two angels in a cave, can speak with god directly, gave us the sunnah, and has done a lot of miracles to show proof of god. The only thing you can compare to Muhammed (A.S) to anyone, is of him being human.
The only reason you believe Jesus (A.S) is greater than Muhammed (A.S) is because you believe Jesus (A.S) is god. I believe Muhammed (A.S) is greater than Jesus (A.S), because he spread the idea of monotheism, gave us the word of god to study, have as a moral compass and learn about all the prophets before him, and gave us the sunnah so we know how to be a muslim.
And saying the final revelation should've been the most impressive is true, because no human being dead or alive can make such a book like the quran. Even scholars who are muslim and non muslim all agree that the Quran is nothing like any other book and no book will be like it. It has absolutely 0 flaws and 0 contradictions.
I'm ending this argument now, I'm completely fine with you being christian. I don't want to continue in an argument where you insult the prophet Muhammed (A.S). May allah guide you to islam amen, salam.

@@hersh3445 I'm not an expert on the life of Muhammad, but Wikipedia's article on "Miracles of Muhammad" gives many times that he refused to perform a miracle, claiming to be only a warner.
But we can grant that he did some miracles if you want.
I'm not insulting Muhammad. He was just an ordinary guy like the rest of us. Anything beyond that was just the grace of Allah. Maybe Muslims believe he didn't commit the same level of sins as most of us, but he was still a sinner.
You explain he was a sinner because he was a son of Adam, and we agree there. But this doesn't make him "not a sinner".
Sinning at all shows corruption in the heart. Repenting is good and right, but doesn't negate the sin. A just judge will rightly sentence a criminal, no matter how much he has changed his ways.
You should believe Jesus is greater than Muhammad because of his supernatural birth and his absolute sinlessness - he never even had anything to repent of. That's an amazing and unique thing.
Even if someone believes the Quran is the most impressive revelation, why did Allah send it through a sinner? He should and could have sent it through the most impressive man to have ever lived.

When we say the Bible is corrupted, it’s because we believe that Jesus (pbuh) was the one sent with the Bible, not his disciples. We don’t even know if it was actually written by them since it was written according to them, not by them. Let alone these names Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John (which weren’t even in Jesus’s time). You still take their words because they saw a dream. 🤦🏻 These are made-up names by the Church Fathers at the time. The oldest Bible you have now is from the 4th century-four centuries after Jesus’s death. The Bible you have now was written 30-80 years after Jesus, and many different Bibles were written by many different people. It’s said more than 50 Bibles were written at the time. Many verses and chapters were added, like the Hebrew, which is originally a quote by an unknown person. This shows how authentic your Bible really is.
There are also dietary laws of Jesus and the attribution of divinity to him, with many wrong translations that mislead people, like the Trinitarian translations and mistakes. The Holy Spirit being a part of God was taught by the Church 56 years after Jesus’s death. Tell me this is not corruption.
We Muslims believe that our prophets are sinless-unlike how your Bible describes them.
    - Adam and Hawwa (Eve) ate from the forbidden tree in Paradise, which is often viewed as a slip rather than a deliberate act of defiance. Allah forgave them when they repented (Qur'an 2:37). In Islam, actions are judged by their intentions (as per a famous hadith: “Actions are but by intentions.”).
    - Ibrahim’s intentions were pure: he sought to protect his wife, guide his people to the truth, and avoid participating in idol worship. His actions were not driven by selfishness, harm, or defiance of Allah. That’s why he lied, in the first, second, and third cases. In the first two cases (claiming illness and blaming the largest idol), Ibrahim used rhetorical or figurative language to make a point or avoid unnecessary conflict. In the third case (calling his wife his "sister"), the statement was technically true because Sarah was his "sister in faith." This was a precautionary measure in a dangerous situation.
    - Moses killing a man was unintentional. There was a fight between one of his people and a man. Moses was a very strong man; he was breaking the fight up but accidentally killed the guy.
The story of Yusuf (Joseph) and the seduction attempt by his master’s wife is another example. She, in whose house he was, sought to seduce him. She closed the doors and said, 'Come, you!' He said, 'I seek refuge in Allah! Indeed, He is my master who has made good my residence. Indeed, wrongdoers will not succeed.'" (Qur'an 12:23).
The story continues, showing Yusuf resisting her advances and fleeing from her:
"And she certainly determined [to seduce] him, and he would have inclined to her had he not seen the proof of his Lord. And thus [it was] that We should avert from him evil and immorality. Indeed, he was of Our chosen servants." (Qur'an 12:24).
Did Yusuf Desire His Master’s Wife?
The verse states, "he would have inclined to her had he not seen the proof of his Lord." Scholars interpret this in several ways:
    - **Human Nature and Prophetic Restraint**: Yusuf, as a human being, had natural desires. However, his prophetic character and the guidance from Allah ensured he did not act on any inclination.
    - **Seeing the "proof of his Lord"** refers to divine intervention that strengthened his resolve and reminded him of his duty to Allah.
Why This Is Not a Sin:
    - **No Action Was Taken**: Yusuf did not act on any desire. Instead, he resisted and sought refuge in Allah.
    - **Divine Protection**: Allah specifically protected Yusuf from falling into sin: "Thus [it was] that We should avert from him evil and immorality." (12:24).
    - **A Test, Not a Fault**: The incident was a test of Yusuf’s faith and integrity, which he passed with complete success. His refusal to engage with her advances highlights his moral strength and trust in Allah.
Prophets seek forgiveness not because they are sinful but to:
    - **Demonstrate humility and servitude**.
    - **Acknowledge their human nature and reliance on Allah**.
    - **Set an example for their followers**.
    - **Glorify Allah's mercy and forgiveness**.
    - **Strengthen their bond with Allah**.
Their consistent repentance is a profound lesson for humanity, teaching us the importance of turning to Allah in every circumstance, no matter how pious or elevated we may be. Seeking forgiveness is also a way of glorifying Allah’s attributes of mercy, forgiveness, and compassion. Prophets constantly turn to Allah to express their gratitude for His mercy and to affirm their reliance on Him.
    Example:
    Prophet Ibrahim (AS) prayed:
"Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established." (Qur'an 14:41).
Prophets have a heightened awareness of their responsibility as Allah’s chosen messengers. Even minor actions that might be acceptable for ordinary people are viewed by them as significant and requiring forgiveness due to their closeness to Allah.
    Example:
Prophet Yunus (AS) sought forgiveness after leaving his people prematurely:
"There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." (Qur'an 21:87).

Prophets have a heightened awareness of their responsibility as Allah’s chosen messengers. Even minor actions that might be acceptable for ordinary people are viewed by them as significant and requiring forgiveness due to their closeness to Allah.
      Example:
Prophet Nuh (AS) urged his people to seek forgiveness:
"And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.'" (Qur'an 71:10).
Prophets are role models for humanity, and their actions emphasize humility before Allah. By constantly seeking forgiveness, they demonstrate that no one, regardless of their spiritual status, is above turning to Allah in repentance. This serves as a lesson for their followers to adopt the same attitude of submission and reliance on Allah.
      Example:
      Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:
"By Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah and turn to Him in repentance more than seventy times a day." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 6307).
Even though the Prophet Muhammad is free from sin, his constant repentance reflects his deep awareness of Allah's majesty and mercy. Prophets are human beings and may make unintentional errors or minor lapses in judgment (known as "zallat"). These are not sins in the conventional sense but are corrected by Allah to maintain their perfection as role models. Seeking forgiveness reflects their acknowledgment of their human limitations and their absolute dependence on Allah.
      Example:
Prophet Adam (AS) and Hawwa (AS) sought forgiveness after eating from the forbidden tree:
"Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers." (Qur'an 7:23).
The Meaning of "Sin" for Prophets:
The Arabic word often translated as "sin" in these contexts is **ذنب (dhanb)** or **خطيئة (khatī'ah)**. However, the interpretation of these terms when applied to prophets requires a nuanced understanding.
      Minor Errors or Slips (Zallat):
Prophets may make minor human errors or judgments that are not sinful in the way ordinary humans commit sins. These are often referred to as **zallat** (slips). For example, Musa (AS) killing a man was not intentional but was still a mistake in judgment for which he sought forgiveness.
      Acts of Humility and Servitude:
Even when Allah commands prophets to seek forgiveness for their "sins," it can be understood as an act of humility, not because they committed actual sins but to maintain their closeness to Allah and set an example for others.
      Metaphorical Sins:
Some scholars argue that the "sins" mentioned in such verses could refer to:
      - Human limitations compared to Allah's perfection.
      - A prophet's feeling of inadequacy in fulfilling their divine mission perfectly, even though they are doing their best.
      Gratitude and Perfection:
Prophets, being aware of Allah's infinite greatness, continually seek forgiveness out of gratitude and acknowledgment of their dependence on Him. Their sense of accountability is so heightened that even what we might see as insignificant, they see as needing forgiveness.
Specific Case of Prophet Muhammad (SAW):
In Surah Al-Fath (48:2), Allah says:
"That Allah may forgive for you what preceded of your sin and what will follow and complete His favor upon you and guide you to a straight path."
Scholars explain this as Allah’s assurance to the Prophet that any minor human errors or potential shortcomings in his mission were forgiven in advance. It highlights his elevated status and Allah’s mercy, not that he committed sins like ordinary people.
The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) frequently sought forgiveness, despite being sinless:
"I ask Allah for forgiveness more than seventy times a day." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 6307).
This was an act of humility and worship, showing his complete reliance on Allah.
      Why Prophets Seek Forgiveness:
      - **Role Models for Humanity**: Prophets teach us the importance of repentance and humility, even if we are not aware of committing sins.
      - **Acknowledging Human Limitations**: Prophets acknowledge their humanity and the gap between their actions and Allah’s infinite greatness, even though they are free from major sins.
      - **Connection with Allah**: Seeking forgiveness strengthens their relationship with Allah and serves as a form of constant worship and gratitude.
The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was speaking to some influential leaders of Quraysh, hoping to persuade them to accept Islam. These leaders were seen as key figures whose conversion could have a significant impact on the wider acceptance of Islam. During this conversation, Abdullah ibn Umm Maktum, a blind Muslim who was seeking guidance, approached the Prophet and interrupted him, asking questions about faith. The Prophet, intent on convincing the Qurayshi leaders, frowned and turned away from Abdullah, as the interruption seemed untimely.
      Allah's Revelation in Surah Abasa:
Allah revealed verses to gently correct the Prophet’s action:
"He frowned and turned away because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified, or be reminded, and the remembrance would benefit him?" (Qur'an 80:1-4).
Allah reminded the Prophet that spiritual guidance and purification are more important than the status of the people he was speaking to. Abdullah ibn Umm Maktum, despite being blind and not influential, was sincere in his desire for knowledge and deserved the Prophet’s full attention.
