Awesome build. Love the Ranger as an overland rig. So many people doing the Gladiators. This is way more affordable. And that's coming from a Jeep guy.
That’s a freaking good looking truck. The cup holders were a really nice custom add-on. In my experience the stock Ranger cup holders are completely useless. I could never keep anything in them in my 2000 or it would fall out when I was turning, and the cup holders in my new 2005 manual are useless with my CB mounted up. They have an insert that pulls up but you can’t fit a regular pop bottle in there with them up. I’ve got some ideas for my Ranger and your walk around helped me get more ideas. Thanks for the walk around, I always like to watch your videos!
The cup holders in my 2003 Ranger Edge are sloppy with a Tim Hortons cup , but a McDonald's cup fits in there like it was meant to be . The two that are down on the floor are completely useless even if they did actually hold something properly they're too far away to reach .
What all is involved with that? I’ve never heard of people swapping coils in. Pros, cons, cost? I’m not building my truck for overland, but it will see camping trips occasionally. Im putting a 5.0 into it and I figured I would have to beef up the front a hair anyway for the added weight, plus I wanted to lift it a little more as well, say 2 inches over the factory 2.5 lift 4x4 package. Thanks
I got my 06 with the same gray only 52k. Just add bfgs 265/75r16 k02 next is 2 inch wheel spacer with the fox 2.5 shocks. I love what you did to yours.

I have a 2011 sport 4x4 same colour as yours. Awfully tempted to spend the cash and try and recreate your suspension and tire setup. Don't want to drop an unreal amount of cash though. You setup looks pretty much ideal.
The best advice I've ever heard regarding overlanding is, "Drive what ya got." No need to do all kinds of expensive upgrades. A stock 4x4 Ford Ranger is plenty to get out there and have fun. I have the same one you have (but it's an XLT trim with skid plates) and will probably take it overlanding with zero upgrades. It's high enough off the ground as is, and it has the stock all-terrains. Will be just fine.

Building an 04 Ranger, got the engine remanufactured at 137k miles because of a head gasket leak, and a bunch of other small problems I didn't want to deal with. How does this thing feel at highway speeds? I've got 30.5"tiresX10.5"R15 BFG all terrains, put on new upper and lower Precision control arms (bushings were bad and on the 04 I couldn't find the tools to easily do it myself, and it wasn't cost effective to have somebody do it instead of just replacing the entire arms). I have 1.5" aftermarket Torsion key and extended length 3500 Pro-Comp shocks. Roughly 2500 RPM to stay at 104 kph, feels high for that low of speed, rides kind of rough as well. how does yours feel on the highway, and what is your top speed without the truck feeling like it's dying? Any issues with balljoints wearing overly quickly with the lift? Also how have your CV axles been holding up to the increased angle from lift and stress from all of the additional weight you carry?
At 100kmh with the 33s and 4.10s I'm sitting at 2050 rpm and its very happy to just cruise along, I'd say 120 is the limit i feel its comfortable but it'll still hit the 160 limiter if i try For suspension I haven't had much premature wear on ball joints and cvs etc but my uppers are the btf fab ones so much stronger
