nah you still have to plug your phone in so u can’t really use the cable while using the stand in portrait mode

They put the USB port on the side so you can use stand and charge the battery pack. Another use case would be to have it next to your bed as a over night standing dock/clock. Then you just take it with you when you are going out in the morning.

Just upgraded from the XS to a 13 Mini, so bought the 622 for when I'm out and about, and to trigger standby mode when I'm home. I'd originally got a battery bank more like Apple's own, but returned it in favour of this much more useful one.

my problem with my original 622 is that at least for the white version, the soft touch material stains so easily! I just had it in my bag and it got stained somehow permanently
Honestly speaking I feel like anker realize it's impossible to charge the battery pack while using the magnetic stand. I have the original black and i love it.Also I wanted to mention the morphie magnetic rings are powerful grate modifications for android phones that doesn't have magsafe built-in. Another helpful tip make sure the alignment is correct because once you Please the magsafe ring it they do not come off.
I think by moving the port to the side, users can use it as a charging stand.
I just tested on my 1st gen, and it will also allow you to power off the charger and use it as a stand without charging the battery. I just held the power button until the LEDs went off.
They moved the charge port from the bottom to the side so you can charge the battery pack while using it as a stand.
Well they must have another version in between because my original doesn’t turn off. I’ve tried it over and over again.

Can I ask where do you live? I'm from Poland and I noticed that Anker advertises it as the MagGo in instead of 622 throughout Europe. There might be some differences because of that including the ability to turn it off. I'm not 100% sure though, just a theory.
I just had a thought! They probably put them on the sides so you can plug it in and still use the stand function while the MagSafe charger charges. Sort of like a dock 🤔🤯

Liked and followed. My Samsung S22 Ultra seems to be too heavy. What I mean is, with charger up as a stand, phone is keen to slide off, to the floor.
I assumed it would hold the phone in place.
NO CASE ON THE PHONE.

This anker battery pack is definitely attractive with it’s slim look and manageable price point, but I always worry about the potential damage one does to their phones battery when they use a charger like this
Well they aren't meant to be used everyday. Just when needed honestly.
Why so? It’s just a MagSafe charger with a battery. Charging your phone wirelessly is the same and if it somehow destroyed your battery, apple wouldn’t allow it.
It doesn’t damage the phones battery, unless you’re like keeping it on all the time and never letting your phone deplete… in which case just don’t do that lol

This is absolutely perfect.
They moved the USB over to the side so that you can have it plugged in while it's charging while you're watching something using the kickstand so that when the new magsafe update comes out you'll also be able to use that new clock feature thing that I guess it's coming with I'm assuming that that is a pass through USB that allows it to charge your phone at the same time it's charging the brick itself while it's plugged in that's why they moved it to the side and really couldn't plug it in and charge while you were watching something when it was at the bottom that was a major complaint that us anker users had was that we couldn't use the kickstand and keep it plugged in wirelessly charging at the same time while using its kickstand functionality
I would say the best update is to put the connector on the side now I can charge while on stand mode

I held down the power button on the ESR haloLock mini kickstand power bank while it was on my phone charging it, and it turned off also.

Just got the new version in the mail. Is your kickstand magnet super weak? When I have the phone on it if I barely tap the screen it falls. Wondering if this is normal or a defect?

The older version costs about $35 in my country and the newer version is for about $65, would it be worth the extra 30 bucks or should I just get the older version?

Yeah they don't announce anything. You just always have to be actively looking to even find it. Folks were telling me in my comments on a video about it.
I brought the new one in purple because my old 622 in black just cooking the phone like a egg now I can have my new 622 without cooking my iPhone asol ur videos are great

I got this anker 633 upgrade version. Idk if I should regret my purchase or not 😅 I don’t want to damage my battery life. But I honestly bought it to use it if it’s really needed, like when I don’t have my charger with me at all. And I guess I can still use it like a standerd and just turning off the power button 😄

It’s not going to fast charge. MagSafe coils only push minimal power through to the device.

On the original if you hold down the power button you can turn the charging off and just use it as a stand
I do like that the new one has the port on the side so you can use it at your desk to charge
I've tried everything and mine doesn't turn off when holding the button. I'm not sure if there was a version in between the two because mine doesn't turn off.

I've been searching for a magsafe battery pack that can charge on a wireless charger. Any recommendations?
I swear they release a new MagSafe Mobile Charger every 3 months… kinda aggravating to buy something for them to release a better one 3 ish months later. Yes I know this one came out last year but they had the original non flappy black one, the first 622, the big boy with the kick stand 633, and now this “new” 622 all in less than 2 years.
Anker has been doing the most when it comes to MagSafe chargers. And they just released a new one in the last day or so that just ordered lol.
