The Russians are typically a rush civilization. They can get out units very quickly because they have many unit shipments in the commerce age (age II), such as the 4 and 5 cossack card and 13 strelets. These units can be shipped to the blockhouse which you can place very forward. So, are you expecting a rush? Defend by quickly making units yourself too, use town center attack and time everything with militiaman. Good luck!
I like to go ff with them Mainly because most of players won't excpect it and i can mass a lot of strelet and turn them into rekruts while gathering resources to vet uprgrade for rekrut
