As the owner of a 1989 lesabre t-type coupe, and a 1998 buick regal gs, i must say this is one of the nicest cars buick has rolled out and it competes with anything from the imports, and the other domestics. nice job buick!!!
Randomly rn this car popped into my memory because like 14 years ago I road tripped out to the desert and remembered how nice the drive was. At the time for me it felt like I was driving a smooth spaceship. It was an unusual ride for me at the time because I was still in my mid twenties and had always thought of this brand as a more mature style, which it is, however I just felt like it was low key awesome and loved driving it around. It felt good. The interior lights were the vibe especially on those long dark highways. Random memory...this car. LoL
Bravo Buick! I bet this car is stunning in person. This is the kind of upscale Buick that only the Chinese have been able to buy for the past few years. Really nice that Buick is offering this new LaCrosse to both China and North America.
Im a Buick dealer in Michigan and was one of the very lucky dealers to drive an early production CXL and all I can say is send me truck loads!! This auto and the Enclave could be GMs home grown bailout! Very nice car. Drive it before you buy anything else!!
Aux input utilizes USB / Aux, and is located inside the center console. When using USB, you can control the audio using the touch screen / steering wheel.
what makes me love this car is definitely the interior of this car, its beautiful and the ambient lighting just makes it so much better. A lot of people have 1 main concern when it comes to small size car is the leg room in the back but not with this car. I saw over 6 feet or 183 cm sitting in the back and said he has no problem with leg room.
Come on people why the hate? I think this is a great departure for Buick. They gotta change someday to a younger market and besides it can't be perfect, nothing is, this is very very good though.
I saw it at the Chicago Auto Show. They had a red one like this and a silver one. It looked fantastic from what I saw, but they didn't let anyone see the interior up close. In person it looks very elegant because it's so big and sculpted. 100% better than the current Lacrosse. I believe it starts at $27K for the base model, by the way, but I don't know what a CXL would cost you.
actually, they are offering this in AWD. Im not sure as to whether they are offering it as an option for the 3.0l V6, but it is definitely an option for the 3.6l V6, which is a great move, i think. GM has not made any AWD sedans and to offer it in a great and well designed vehicle such as this, as well as the option for the fuel saving FWD, is a very thoughtful move. Great Job GM!! :))
I've owned japanese cars all my life, but after watching this video..I am in love with this buick. I think GM needs to push more cars like this. I think GM will do good in future. Time to buy their stock :)
although the mpg reason is good, I think it proboly has more to do with the AWD transfer not being able to handle the higher torque and/or horsepower of the larger engine. That's usually the case. Can't wait for the Lacrosse to come out, it will be an excellent vehicle and should help Buick improve there already growing image.Great job GM!
So true. I love the `87 Riviera, Skylark, Sommerset and LeSabre, the `88 Regal and the Reatta were wonderful designs, uniquely American. And the 88-96 Century is so mainstream classy, love the rear.
Hell yeah. Let me say that there's not too many 80s-90s Buicks that I didn't like. The Skyhawk was a really good design as well (especially the ultra rare T-Type). I agree with you on the 88-96 Century. Very classy and very dependable, the rear end tail light "strip" is an excellent styling cue!
@mista925 basically you're saying an individual car's performance is totally reliant on the name sake? So you could badge a Corvette a Buick and it would then be slow?
@hugoso99 its uses parts made in america and just put together in china but its only for chinese market so the ones driving in the us and canads etc is made in america
The exterior looks very normal it needs a more concepty look to make it exciting and compete with other modern brands, i like everything else here tho :) wish all the best for GM.
@xpakpimpx I think they are... You should check out the 2011 Buick Regal. What a beautiful machine that is! They have a GS version coming out as well. I really like these cars a lot :)
its not too late, and its not supposed to compete with the TL. The TL is almost a direct competitor with the CTS, and GM doesn't need that kind of overlap right now.
The best looking American interior ive seen! The car looks like a Bmw in the nose and a hint of Lexus in the over all shape. I think the wheels look to small. This would have been a better video if it was in HD!!!
really? wow, ur right that is the reverse of what i would expect lol. but when u think about it, in a way, it kinda makes since to put the AWD on the smaller engine simply to even out the MPG difference, but to not even offer it as a option for the 3.6l is a big upset....hopefully they change that, it would really up the sales of it more.
Buick always had a top rate performance car in its line up. The Century in the '50s, Wildcat and GS cars in the '60s and '70s and the Grand National in the '80s. In the '90s management proclaimed "no more boy racers" and proceeded to produce a boring line of automobiles. They nearly ruined the company. Cars like the Riviera, Wildcat and Grand National gave the brand a bit of cache. They need to get it back.
WOW!!! I am a young person and I really like this car....it looks like an upscale lexus more than a buick.. Buick is trying to make the cars they make to pull out of the senior citizen market and get into younger people....I have to say if they keep this up they wont have to worry about that....WOW!
this car would really catch on in europe ;) btw how can you buy lexus in the us? Apart from the IS they all look too boring, I'd buy one of these or a BMW, Volvo, Merc, in a heartbeat!
Exactly...is it me or did each person explain the details with terms & phrases that you wouldn't expect to hear from engineers..."tap up tap down", "silver lower area", "H-V-A-C"...
@lavakava Last time I checked all Lexus automobiles were imported. All but a handful of Toyotas have enough US content to even classify them as built in the US. This doesn`t even look like a Lexus. Lexus cars are devoid of style. This is an Opel re branded as a Buick built on the GM Episilon II platform.If you don`t know Opel=GM. Unfortunately your perception on reality clouds your judgment. GM made mistakes in the past, all car companies do. Just get rid of your BIAS!
i only hope this car can go down a bit in price in this chinese market, this car is priced as the same price as honda accord, toyota camery, and nissan altima-equivilent image if this car is priced at that in the US market (that somehow they can reduce cost to that too), then i can see how GM is gonna destroy the japanese cars and take back the market again with this
I often wonder why they complain about Granpa buying this car, when Granpa is the only that's got money to buy a car, as apposed to his son or grandson who has nothing but overextended credit?
LoL, ur facts are wrong. The genesis starts at $33,000, The buick will start at 26,000 7,000 in savins. also they get about the same gas mileage, with there bigger v6's. They don't even compete in the same segment the genesis is full-sized luxurious class, awhile this is in the mid-sized luxurious class. both r great cars though
I really like the looks of the interior and exterior. But i wouldnt buy it because its still a buick and when people think buick they think old people.... I will stick with my rx350
even Hyundai Genesis is RWD, cost less, it has more power, roomier, yet get a better mileage than this Buick. But i got to say despite the fact that it does poor on performance, it sure looks gorgeous!! can't wait to see it in person, especially the interior!! woot. But the Genesis can do something more than this Buick can't, upgrade with DUB's product with Genesis is so fking hot!!
I didn't say nobody could. If you'd learn to read, you'd see that I mentioned people in their 50s or better, "grandpa" people like you make fun of, are the ones who can afford cars like this in this price range, not people like you who live on credit. Why do I argue with teenagers who can't even live by themselves?
I agree, Buicks in the mid-late 90s were pretty boring, specifically the 97-05 Century/Regal. Pretty good cars but very bland. Buick has certainly produced some unique models (i.e. the Grand National, Lesabre T type, Reatta etc.)
@lcascio313g haha i think gm should do better now they released the 2010 buick lacrosse, cadillac srx new buick regal and they r soon gonna be releasing the 2011 chevy cruze and volt they should sell like hell
i still think that it can't be compete with the big boys(Japan, Germany, and England) It's still looks too much like American, which most of the luxury car buyers don't like.
and you're 20 yrs old? so..... you must have a long history of driving experience, huh? i mean, to make such a remark.. I'd at least expect a person to be driving for 10 yrs.
How dare you! That's an over $500 car payment, because nobody for damn sure has that kind of cash on hand for a depreciable asset. People have other things to spend their money on besides a car. If they don't then it's one of the reasons WHY they are in financial trouble. Don't you dare call 27k "nothing".
Actually believe it or not. Lexus copied Buick in their design strategy. Now don't get me wrong Lexus has overtaken Buick, but origonally it was modled after buick. As for Acura, please show me ONE trait that this Buick shares with an Acura, which BTW have the ugliest vehicles on the road today
German and Chinese designed....do we designe anythinig in this country anymore? Talk about copying Lexus, did you check out the exhausts and overal design. An updated Lexus ES350 to me. Credit where credit is do. The interior is just gorgeous to look at. I wish GM luck with this one. They could use a break right now.......so could the taxpayers since we now own a huge stake in the company.
Sorry, but the a to c pillars look like a Lexus GS and the rear lights look like a new Acura RL...made in Europe? I think not, copied in Japan, I would venture to say so... Yeah, give me a LeSabre or Park Avenue any day! Instead of bailing them out with funds, bail them out from those horrible designers....nothing like Cadillac...nothing...
@regisiam The myth reliability of American vehicles is laughable. My father still has the same Chevy he bought 20 years ago. To be honest, it runs better than my 99 Toyota Corolla. Do a bit more research before you believe anybody here on youtube.
@lavakava i know right! who buys crap because its partiotic. if my country(america) doesnt make a quality car then i dont buy it. who gives a crap he loves his country, he should just get a life.
Don't want a face to face, too bad then. My affairs are nobody's business, which is why I don't post them on what you call "public forums". You're the one telling more than anyone, including future employers, more than they need to know. I feel sorry for the sons and daughters of "blue-collar people" you may be in charge of trying to educate. Your upbringing will come back to haunt you someday, but you will find this out for yourself. Good luck.
Heaven help the people you will be charged with educating. You don't even have reading comprehension skills yourself! Go back and highlight were I called the Buick LaCrosse overpriced. Now any responses after that and I'm getting on your private account.
I've owned japanese cars all my life, but after watching this video..I am in love with this buick. I think GM needs to push more cars like this. I think GM will do good in future. Time to buy their stock :)

This is one amazing automobile. I would love to own the Buick LaCross, I have always liked Buick's style and ride.
LoL
I really want one of these, I think it looks amazing! Job well done Buick. This is way better then the 89 Century I had.
GM Don't let this best car be your last.
Bravo Buick! I bet this car is stunning in person. This is the kind of upscale Buick that only the Chinese have been able to buy for the past few years. Really nice that Buick is offering this new LaCrosse to both China and North America.

wow, hand stitched dash surface! I've never seen that on anything less then a high-end Merc. Bravo Buick, Bra-vo.
I bet this thing will be VERY comfortable and alot of people will want to travel in them during the holidays
Come on people why the hate? I think this is a great departure for Buick. They gotta change someday to a younger market and besides it can't be perfect, nothing is, this is very very good though.
the 3.6 is FWD only, but the 3.0 gets optional AWD, the same used on the 9-3. I'm not sure why the 3.6 isn't available with it though.
I saw it at the Chicago Auto Show. They had a red one like this and a silver one. It looked fantastic from what I saw, but they didn't let anyone see the interior up close. the 2010-present Buick LaCrosse is assembled in
Kansas City, Kansas, USA
Shanghai, China

Nice car, Ill be in the market pretty soon for a car, and I will for sure be checking this car out.
how much mpg is it
@hugoso99 its uses parts made in america and just put together in china but its only for chinese market so the ones driving in the us and canads etc is made in america
... umm i was takling about optioned Lacrosse and base Genesis... but I didn't said Lacrosse is a bad car. I like both. don't get me wrong.
BEAUTIFUL car!
The exterior looks very normal it needs a more concepty look to make it exciting and compete with other modern brands, i like everything else here tho :) wish all the best for GM.
I just bought one, love it
Say, does it have blue tooth audio? I just, inherited one from my mother, and was wondering. I wont have posession of it for another week.
one of the beautiful car...
@xpakpimpx
I think they are... You should check out the 2011 Buick Regal. What a beautiful machine that is! They have a GS version coming out as well. I really like these cars a lot :)
can you get a lexus or bmw for 30k?
It will be a hit! Go Buick!
Although the `89 Century with the wonderful full-width tail lights was very classy-looking!
if they have a GNX edition, I'll definitely buy it.
great looking car
good job america.. finally a decent sedan that is presentable to the world.
I went and saw one in person. LaCrosse is now as big as Lucerne. With LaCrosse being so huge, where does that leave Lucerne?
we just got one, love it!
hop you enjoy this buck lacrosse
a thing of beauty
its not too late, and its not supposed to compete with the TL. The TL is almost a direct competitor with the CTS, and GM doesn't need that kind of overlap right now.

I think the wheels look to small.
This would have been a better video if it was in HD!!!
looks awesome
how come cars these days dont bother with bumpers anymore. like REAL bumpers
I think you right the door handles is kinda low hmmm.
really? wow, ur right that is the reverse of what i would expect lol. but when u think about it, in a way, it kinda makes since to put the AWD on the smaller engine simply to even out the MPG difference, but to not even offer it as a option for the 3.6l is a big upset....hopefully they change that, it would really up the sales of it more.
lol yeah i definately know what u mean! Gm really scored big on this one....if they keep this up, they will be on the road to recovery in no time
Buick always had a top rate performance car in its line up. The Century in the '50s, Wildcat and GS cars in the '60s and '70s and the Grand National in the '80s. Sweet !! Keep it up GM !!
@lcascio313g how did the gmc took our money?
WOW!!! I am a young person and I really like this car....it looks like an upscale lexus more than a buick.. Buick is trying to make the cars they make to pull out of the senior citizen market and get into younger people....I have to say if they keep this up they wont have to worry about that....WOW!
No V8?
that wouldn't be a new car...
you can also get a used ferrari for 30k but that isn't the same either, is it?
Sounds like you're going to be a real prize in the job pool.
Right on!
this car would really catch on in europe ;) btw how can you buy lexus in the us? Apart from the IS they all look too boring, I'd buy one of these or a BMW, Volvo, Merc, in a heartbeat!
Exactly...is it me or did each person explain the details with terms & phrases that you wouldn't expect to hear from engineers..."tap up tap down", "silver lower area", "H-V-A-C"...
@regisiam German cars are usually near the bottom for their price in quality and reliability. Buick is always near the top.
OMG GM is the best!!!!!
i wud buy this over a lexus, infinity, acura and dare i say cadillac, mercedes and bmw
@lavakava
Last time I checked all Lexus automobiles were imported. All but a handful of Toyotas have enough US content to even classify them as built in the US.

@eeckoboi youre right
it's kinda sad that our auto industry is just now making cool cars now that it is in the shitter..
This buick isn't too shabby
: O awesome!!!
i only hope this car can go down a bit in price
in this chinese market, this car is priced as the same price as honda accord, toyota camery, and nissan altima-equivilent

@lavakava I highly doubt that you take care of your vehicles properly.
LoL, ur facts are wrong. The genesis starts at $33,000, The buick will start at 26,000 7,000 in savins. also they get about the same gas mileage, with there bigger v6's. This

@wongwuipong Dude this car is much nicer looks wise than a Camry

@eeckoboi
It should probably have some similarities since Vauxhall is owned by General Motors...or should I say, Obama Motors?
I agree, Buicks in the mid-late 90s were pretty boring, specifically the 97-05 Century/Regal. Pretty good cars but very bland. Buick has certainly produced some unique models (i.e. the Grand National, Lesabre T type, Reatta etc.)
@wh91962008 wtf how man?
It does have a much better looking than ALL the Buicks out there... but it's just a copy of a Lexus and an Acura
@lcascio313g haha i think gm should do better now they released the 2010 buick lacrosse, cadillac srx new buick regal and they r soon gonna be releasing the 2011 chevy cruze and volt they should sell like hell
GM, Less Brands, More Focus on consumer needs, just like the 60's.... Buy American, its getting better......
Where's a wagon? When Buick brings back a wagon, I'll take a look.
i still think that it can't be compete with the big boys(Japan, Germany, and England) It's still looks too much like American, which most of the luxury car buyers don't like.
If you are bored with the GS..you should be bored with this. The profile looks just like the GS
@lcascio313g not MILLIONS....>50 BILLION!!
lmao grannies gettin excited here
and you're 20 yrs old? so..... you must have a long history of driving experience, huh? i mean, to make such a remark.. I'd at least expect a person to be driving for 10 yrs.

THEY STEAL THE DESIGN FROM LEXUS LS460
German and Chinese designed....do we designe anythinig in this country anymore?
Talk about copying Lexus, did you check out the exhausts and overal design. An updated Lexus ES350 to me.
Credit where credit is do. The interior is just gorgeous to look at. I wish GM luck with this one. They could use a break right now.......so could the taxpayers since we now own a huge stake in the company.
@jsong21 it was designed in china...lol
Sorry, but the a to c pillars look like a Lexus GS and the rear lights look like a new Acura RL...made in Europe? I think not, copied in Japan, I would venture to say so...
Yeah, give me a LeSabre or Park Avenue any day!
Instead of bailing them out with funds, bail them out from those horrible designers....nothing like Cadillac...nothing...
Sounds like you have a lot to learn. That Bachelor's degree won't buy you what you think it will, and it certainly didn't buy you intelligence.
@blowndaytona500 lexus es is better
@regisiam The myth reliability of American vehicles is laughable. My father still has the same Chevy he bought 20 years ago. To be honest, it runs better than my 99 Toyota Corolla. Do a bit more research before you believe anybody here on youtube.
I will say LACROSSE is NOT GOOD IN SNOW!!!!
Yeah good luck with that.
