- I created a series of Altered Playing Cards that I have traded as Artist Trading Cards called FORGOTTEN MESSENGERS.
The focal points are washi stickers of birds with script on them… which made me think of carrier pigeons! So using that theme I created a lovely layered piece of art!
This video takes you step by step through my process.
Thanks for being here!

Very inspiring!
Thank You🖤🩵🤍
I love it! Where is that stencil from? I've ben looking for a good dot stencil but can't find it. Also, love the cards with the rectangle already in the middle.
Thank You🖤🩵🤍
The stencil is from Temu… it was under $2! They don’t name their listings specifically so just search stencil dots and browse!
The cards are JUMBO from Dollar Tree… jumbo just means the corner numbers are larger and the middle area is shrunk down with the rectangle around it! It’s very useful in many altered card projects I do!
This is awesome. I have a question. What kind of glue do you use?
Thank You🖤🤍🩵 for these I used Mod Podge and the in the tiny nib bottle is Alene’s Tacky Glue!… I do use Glue Sticks from the Dollar Tree too, but I don’t think I used any on these cards.
Just wondering what you used to glue down the birds and did you peel off the backing of the sticker before you glued them down?
Hey Leslie, yes I peeled off the backings… I used Alene’s Tacky Glue… I just keep some in a small squeeze bottle with the tiny tip for small/precise applications like this!
Do you pretreat the crackle or card to get the ink/paint to run? I've not had success with getting my ink/paint to run with the water.
I did spray my first batch with Rustoleum matte sealer, but I forgot to spray this batch… mine didn’t run very well either… which is why I just painted it on!
