Social Distancing here in Singapore is being practiced but some people don't follow it. In some coffee shops/food centres there are tapes in "X" placed on chairs and tables and also when you're queuing up for food a "X" is taped on the floor. We are also encouraged to practice it on our own and to avoid crowded areas. On Saturday (21st March 2020) we saw our first 2 deaths and our government placed more strict measures on our travel industry.

But many are still left behind, especially since they have to stay outside during this cold weather...

Lorry drivers for bringing the food in,
NHS Staff for caring for us,
Bin men for still collecting my rubbish,

I'm from Singapore, and I would say that many businesses and institutions are prepared with work-from-home and business continuity arrangements, and the government is encouraging this wherever possible. Health and temperature checks, contact tracing, travel restrictions and even subsidies for people to visit the doctor are in place to curb the spread of the virus.
There's a lot of change going on, but I'm positive that these measures have helped to keep our numbers relatively low despite being an open country with many in and outbound travellers.

Kristina Miller i’m 16 and live in northern italy. i haven’t left my apartment in weeks, except for medical necessities (my joints are giving up on me hahahahahahahaha it’s not funny).
i live in the suburbs of a little city, so i have no clue how downtown (the most populated and most beautiful place of the city) is doing. i know it’s not remotely as populated as it usually is.
i recently began one hour long online classes: we chat a bit with our teachers, do school, and do it over again three to five times a day. our schedule has been drastically eased: instead of 32 hours of classes a week we do about twenty at most. but, we still have a lot of essays to write and tests to study for... which is not fun.
yesterday my mom ordered food online, today we got our food. THAT was a blast. the most exciting thing that happened so far.
among school, i try to keep myself busy and entertained by drawing, singing, playing music, working out (i do about 30 minutes of cardio - i have a cyclette here at home - 15 minutes of stretching and 15 minutes of other stuff. sometimes, i dance for another good 20 minutes. i highly recommend dancing!), writing, learning a new language (korean) and improving the ones i already know (other than italian, english, german and spanish), watching tv and movies. i’ve also been trying to read more.
new daily cases aren’t on the rise anymore, which is great, but we really don’t know what to except. the health care system is collapsing and i’m craving physical contact, which i usually avoid.
i’m spending a lot of time breathing disinfectant and touching with it, my skin is extremely dry, my knuckles are cracked.
my mood fluctuates a lot, for no apparent reason.
i won a scholarship (i would have left italy and lived in germany for a whole school year), but i had to put it down.
the stock market is crashing, which is extremely dramatic, for a country such as italy.
also, i’m terrified for southern italy, where my family and i are originally from. it’s not NEARLY as advanced and prepared and northern italy for such an emergency.
but honestly, i don’t care. i only really wish for this to be over. i’m still trying to be positive, but it’s kinda hard.
where are you from? how the situation where you live?

In 2 (I believe) states there is already the ban on going out. I’m a US born citizen but I’ve been living in Tijuana, Mexico for about 3 years now because the cost of living is cheaper in Mexico and because I was working in managing a small touring company in Tijuana. When all of this started getting more serious in the US they ended up not completely shutting down the border but they closed it off for anyone who isn’t a US citizen and only people with essential jobs are allowed to cross. Rumors are that if this doesn’t get better soon that they will close the border for good. Because of all this I lost my job, I lost my company, and I had to evacuate my home and return to live in the US with my Boy friends parents.

In the Philippines, the government is handling it poorly. The capital is in lockdown and almost all cities are in enhanced community quarantine which is fine however they do not have plans on how to tackle the pandemic medically. They are not providing PPE to the HCWs. Last week hospitals had to beg the public to donate PPE like face masks since they are running out of it. Some HCWs who work in Manila do not have a way to commute since public transportation are all suspended and they also dont have a place to stay. Some of them still rely on help from strangers online. The public has been demanding mass testing from the government but they said we dont need it now because we're still "fine". Last week we found out that VIP, mostly politicians, breached the testing protocol, got tested and got their results first before those who are under monitoring. Because of this, a doctor who closely worked with the infected patients died bc his test result got delayed for 4 days.
Edit: imagine how jealous i am to that singaporean dude who confidently said that his govt handled the pandemic well. cant relate

Take away food from restaurants only. Schools are encouraged to do online study, it’s our school holiday time. People are being reminded about Social distancing constantly by the government. Hospitals have very strict visiting rules. We can go shopping but online shopping is encouraged. We are in stage 1 I have no idea what stage 2 will mean if it comes to that. I guess at the end of the day we have to do what is needed to keep everyone safe and healthy. Our borders are closed for 6 months!!! I worry about our economy.

It’s really surreal for me, watching everyone’s reactions to quarantine. Mostly because I understand all too viscerally, having been almost completely homebound for the past year due to developing a nerve disease that’s disabled me with fatigue and weakness. Before all this, people would always tell me, “That must be nice, though, getting to stay home and do nothing all the time, like an extended vacation! 😄” probably because I don’t “look” sick or like I’m actively suffering. As if being trapped in my home (in my body even), unable to...DO things, live, isn’t a hellish experience.
I don’t think I’ll be hearing that anymore.

the few benefits of living in the suburbs where houses are spaced out, no one barely uses the sidewalks especially at night, so have no problem doing night walks when needed 😇

i am still attending school daily as schools are still open in Singapore, and there are more preventive methods being used such as wiping tables and chairs after every use and everyone has their own designated seats in lecture theatres, classrooms as well as in the canteen

In Michigan USA, social distancing started a week ago but today we were put on official lockdown order and can only go out to grocery shop or go on walks/runs etc. I am a lot more scared on how this will affect the economy and mental health than of the actual virus, can't wait for this to be over

I can totally relate to that guy from the UK. I saw one article describing how the virus affects its victims, and one line stuck to me "they look like they were drowning because they have so much fluid in their lungs". As someone who is considered high risk, that really struck a nerve. So I'm not taking any chances.

I am from Singapore and i don't want school to close. I feel that studying is very important and that online classes will not be a good as studying in school. Especially since i am taking PSLE this year. This is my opinion and i did not meant for this to be offending. You can disagree.

I’m from Japan, just recently came back from Germany. Comparing with other countries like Latino America, China, Spain and Italy, Japan has not yet lockdown. People go to work, stores are open for certain time, people use transportation service as usual. Just recently the governor announced that districts like Tokyo, need to stay at home on weekends. I hope everybody is safe and healthy and this finishes soon. Stay strong and stay home.

I'm from Scotland and I have asthma so I'm also at risk, the UK lockdown has just started today, I haven't left the house except a for a few walks and a few supermarket trips in the last two weeks - it's a bit scary and a bit frustrating. I haven't been to uni or the gym or to see my friends and my boyfriend in a different city. I hope everyone else copes well and this passes soon x

Social distancing does not exist here in Japan because coronavirus are just not taken seriously. The hurdle to test is just too damn high (4 consecutive days of fever, only then you may or may not get tested), so numbers are low, and people are so positive now, big cherry blossom gatherings and rock concerts are still happening, and no one washes their hands with soap after using the toilet.
