I believe that building was part of Saltaire, which at different times has had restaurants, retail stores, it’s been an amusement park, but unfortunately, it’s been at the whims of the lake and when the lake rises, the building floods.

Enjoy the Pacific Northwest. I lived in Oregon for over 20 years. The coast is amazing, but you will definitely need a jacket, it can get down right cold even in the summer (and the water is freezing, but beautiful). Enjoy the Oregon Coast!

They are gutter guards from Home Depot. I did a video in them awhile back. But I cut them to fit my windows and spray painted them black. The gutter guards were around $2 each.

Securing it to the roof without putting permanent holes in was challenging. The fist solar panel blew off. So far this has not.

Abijah , when I was younger, I did some car traveling alone. Things were different then than now. Anyway, I did drive through Utah(Hole in the rock), it was a natural wonder. Hey. I stayed at that campground last month. It didn’t smell, but the bugs were terrible. I stayed two nights. I was told that a while back they carried away truck loads of died birds. I love being there. I met some nice people there. I saw some of the same things you saw. Oh and that one building near the salt lake looked like it was abandoned when I was there.
I don’t know what the smell was but it was unpleasant. Someone told me that now they host events at that building.
It smells like dead fish because the Jordan river, which is a fresh water river, flows into the Great Salt Lake. The fish can’t survive in the salty water and they die.
Wow! My scary self(can’t swim) would’ve been paranoid that some of that sand/dirt may still have a little water hole under it where the lake has receded/dried up. Kudos to you for being brave to walk out there lol

I have been around dogs since I was a child. I can kind of read their actions. They appeared happy and harmless. But you never really know, so I pay attention to my surroundings always.

I wonder if it’s from the lake receding and possible washed up unalive fish under the sand/dirt? Possibly why all the bugs are swarming in that area as well. 🤔

Utah is beautiful, my daughter is a traveling nurse and she’s stationed there for 3 months, but she absolutely hates it. She loves the scenery but she said the people are weird. 😂😂😂
