  • Pacific City Thousand Trails in Oregon offers beach access. During our stay at Pacific City Thousand Trails we could walk to the beach from the campsite. In this video, we give you a tour of campground amenities and show you some of the best campsites. We also show you a few favorite things to do in the local area to include a local state park with spectacular panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the Oregon coast. Cellular service for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile were spotty to nonexistent depending on the time of day and were not adequate for streaming or uploading video during our stay.

    Born and raised in Cloverdale OR. Worked here as a ranger when I was a kid around 2010. I absolutely loved this job. Loved my staff. Was an amazing place.

    Oregon coast + summer sunshine = nothing better than maybe, just maybe a fish sandwich and chowder. Love the coast.....pristine.

    Just talked to them this week. They've been re-doing all the electrical stuff, so there's no electric until they're done. That also means there's no cell service. They expect it all to be done 5/1/23.

    This is our Favorite campground The 2nd is Bend SunRiver. The cell service between Tillamook and Lincoln City sucks Big Time although its better then what it use to be. BTW their fish n chips are awesome to. If you go to South Jetty campground at Florence Oregon you need to go out in the dunes "Sandland Adventures" its next door.

    Appreciate the video Lou. The Oregon Coast is always amazing. When you said 'fish sandwich" and "clam chowder" I was all ears. Gonna have to give that pub a try. Take care...

    Melody and Lou - this is a wonderful review of Pacific City!! We were there Nov 2019 for 2 weeks. We had an awesome time and my parents also came and stayed in their RV. We got them a Friends and Family Pass that year. It was such a memorable time 💓 thank you for your video!! Blessings to you friends 🥰

      Is the Friends and Family Pass good for just one stay, just one preserve? Do remember the approximate cost? Lou

    Thanks for the video. That looks like a beautiful place to stay. We aren't Thousand Trails members but we have stayed in Thousand Trails campgrounds before. I will keep this one in mind for next summer.

      If you still have the Passport, you can surely get into a lot of cool places. Everything is a trade-off in the RV world. Lou

    Saw this video, a few days ago, and didnt have time to leave a comment , I was cleaning up a few cookie crumbs, santa had left around the fireplace area !! Very nice campground I'd have to say. Private sites and well maintained common grounds. Huge pool, and nice outdoor hot tub! Great job Melody, on the laundry room tour, and what a nice view off that deck, of the Pacific Ocean. Thanks for the heads-up on the Sportsman Pub & grub ! The food n the pictures looked YUMMY! The trek down to the beach looked like a nice walk, wow, and very high up. Of course, its always sooo fun to see Milo! He must have been so excited to be on the beach, running, and having a ball!! Thanks guys, so fun traveling with you !!!! How bout we go back to the campsite now and pop open a few cold ones !! lol Take care vicky

    Thank you for the video tour!! I will be there for 3 weeks working remotely with my T-Mobile home internet (starlink for backup). Do you think the WiFi at the lodge was adequate for remote work?

    • @LivingOurDreamNow
      @LivingOurDreamNow  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The WIFI was not sufficient for anything but light tasks. Of course that may have changed in the interim. You should be okay with Starlink. Just select a site with few obstructions to the northern sky.

  • @amandacaterina6650
    @amandacaterina6650 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Starlink doesn't work well there either we only found 2-4 sites that look like they would get uninterrupted Starlink connection.

    Great video. We have been to Pacific City Thousand Trails several times and have always enjoyed our stays. But I have to ask one question-why no video of Cape Kiwanda state park? It is a great beach, with a good size parking lot nearby. Also Pelican Bree Pub is a good place to get something to eat and drink while watching the ocean and HAYSTACK ROCK (that "big" rock you mentioned). We love all Thousand Trails campgrounds in Oregon, some more than others thou.

      Ronald, Thank you for this awesome feedback. You pose a valid question. The honest answer is that TH-cam viewers on average have a very short attention span. Video length alone can kill the distribution of a video, even to those that subscribe to our channel. Thanks for following our travels. Lou

    New subbie to your channel.
    Very informative, thank you.
    Can I ask since you didn’t have sewer hookup, what did you do for your bathroom needs?
    Do you have a portable loo to use like a composting toilet or similar?
    I’m sorry if my question is a bit gross but I’m a newbie to all this (never camped a day in my life)😂.

      RVs have onboard facilities that operate independent without hookups. Water consumption management is essential. Lou

    Lou, I've watched a number of your videios sir. My wife and I are trying to decide a nice campsite in oregon to visit with our Thousand trails. My question is out of all the Thousand Trails sites you have visted in Oregon which ones do you remember have the complete hookups, Electric, Water and Sewer? Thank you for your response.

    • @LivingOurDreamNow
      @LivingOurDreamNow  ปีที่แล้ว

      Whalers Rest is your best bet for full hook-ups. Lots to do in the local area. Lou

    Do I understand that TT memberships restrict tent camping no matter what level you have.

    • @LivingOurDreamNow
      @LivingOurDreamNow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are a Thousand Trails member, it is always a good idea to refer back on your contract. Thousand Trails has many different variations of contracts out there, so even Thousand Trails member benefit specialists will routinely pull up your specific contract to comment on your benefits. My contract states that while I may stay up to 21 consecutive days at any one of the Thousand Trails Preserves, tent camping is limited to 7 consecutive days at any one of the Thousand Trails Preserves. Hope this helps. Lou
