      Forget it, there's a lot of sketchy information in this video.
      Edit: For instance they advertise "cuddy cabin" in the title and show almost nothing at all in the video.

    I was excited when I read "cuddy cabin" in the title. I knew the accommodations would be small, but that was kind of the appeal.
    Then the 8 & 1/2 minute video shows a grand total of about 15 seconds of the actual cabins. Why do this?

I've not found a single cuddy for sale in the United States new for under $100k US. It's why I clicked on your vide in the first place. The flyer 8 in the website starts at 33k base price. But the used market is between 100k and 160k............ where is the disconnect?

    • @HarbourMastersTV
      @HarbourMastersTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      The difference in pricing between the base price of the Flyer 8 cuddy cabin boat on the website and the prices in the used market can be attributed to various factors. The base price typically represents the MSRP with minimal or no additional features or customization. As boats age and gain popularity, their value can increase due to factors such as market demand, limited supply, and upgrades made by previous owners. The condition, maintenance history, and location of the used boats can also affect their pricing in the market. It's important to carefully consider all these factors and conduct thorough research when comparing prices between new and used boats to ensure you make an informed decision.

    Really good work on the video.As for the boats,I like their looks,but for the price,I would rather go a couple of years older. Getting a full boat,a couple cabins,real sitting areas,full size sun bathing areas,possible fly bride,useable kitchen ....these,for what you get..are way to expensive.you can get a sub 35ft for less then 50,000 dollars.yes a few years older,but for what you get....makes more sense to me,,but just my opinion.nothing more.

    No sterndrive powered boats? I like having a full width swim platform for easy boarding and entertainment. Those outboards are costly to maintain and some mechanics don't have the tools/training to work on the newest ones.

    • @chrishackett554
      @chrishackett554 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually preventative maintenance and upkeep on a modern four stroke outboard is significantly less expensive and time consuming than any IO. All of the major manufacturers have retooled their molds to accommodate the outboard and retain a large swim platform. Look at the platform and layout of the Monterey M65 as an example. The power to weight ration of OB boats is superior to IO. For winterization you lower the trim, let the water drain out and done. There’s no crawling under an engine hatch or fitting into tight spaces like an IO while access the OBs is right there. I wouldn’t take any boat I own to a mechanic who doesn’t have the tools or knowledge to fix a modern IO or OB. Other than a full width platform, there is zero benefit of an IO compared to a modern four stroke OB.

    • @drewmueller3913
      @drewmueller3913 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrishackett554 In this labor shortage environment I challenge you to find a capable place to work on the newest outboards. I live in an area of the country where winterizing is not needed. Many people are in the same situation. An outboard powered boat is just plain stupid, unless you are some sort of person who just needs the visual presence of engines to somehow satisfy their desires. Chris, you are either very young or uninformed or both. The history of the sterndrive was to address all the negatives of outboards- those factors remain unchanged to date.

    • @chrishackett554
      @chrishackett554 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drewmueller3913 Considering I possess a USCG Masters license for over twenty five years and insured by Lloyds of London as a yacht delivery captain and shuttle multimillion dollar yachts with never a marine incident, I’d say that I’m neither young nor misinformed. You are 100% correct that the old carbureted and the the first generation of EFI outboards smelly oil burners and especially the carb OBs, unreliable. Contrary to your opinion that modern OBs are so “dumb” then why is every major boat engine company (Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda etc) producing more OBs now than anytime in history with no end in sight. I guess their marketing experts are dumb also. You attacked my credibility rather than counter my facts of why modern 4 stroke OBs are better than recreational IOs. There are dozens of non partisan experts on the internet and TH-cam who will state the same facts as I have. Stick with your IO and I’ll stick with my OBs and all will be happy.

    • @drewmueller3913
      @drewmueller3913 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrishackett554 I've never crawled around my engine do do anything. I live in Ca. where we do no winterizing- as do many people, but it's not a big chore. If you like the looks of machinery cut into your stern platform then by all means go ahead. When your girlfriend or wife complains that she cant re board the boat just ignore it all.

      @chrishackett554 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drewmueller3913 My wife and family have zero issues reboarding our twin OB Renegade or Monterey M65 OB. I’ll bet my Monterey platform has way more usable room than any IO in the class and also a usable sun pad. Keep your IO and I’ll keep the OBs.
