You have to pay when you exit, it’s cost £4 for 10 mins, £1 per minute over. then £25 if you stay more than 15 minutes. If you want to save money, use the MID stay car park which has ‘free Set Down’ which lasts up to 1 hour. Free bus service to the terminal. It takes 5 minutes.
And it can take more than one and a half hours to get from the passport queue to Mid Stay. Stansted has to be the worst airport on the planet. Easily is in my experience. Offers the least amount of service for the most money they can extract from you. The level of neglect is close to criminal. Look what happened when the bus caught fire. Chaos. Anything worse and they would have been responsible for deaths. This airport is so bad it makes me angry. Drop off is £7 now!!
2024: 7 £ to drop off passengers. 15£ up to 1 hr or 20£ up to 2 hrs when picking up. A complete rip-off of a disgraceful, uncomfortable and undersized airport.
Does anyone know if it's possible to end up in the drop off/ pick up session by mistake? Like, are there clear signs for the drop off/pick up area or can anyone end up there whilst searching for directions? Thanks!!
Needed to share my experience somewhere. Just had my trousers pulled down by these thieving wonkers. Couldn't see an easy way to drop girlfriend suitcase baby and pram so took the "meet and greet" drop off....left before my 15 minutes was up so should have been £7....got to barrier and bloke infront took ages so when I finally got to pay I had been 16 minutes so I had to pay £25!!!! Not only that but pressed button for assistance to explain I'm a minute over because of the dawdler before me and the bloke just said leave now before the barrier closes or you'll pay again. Not so much their fault but my girlfriend missed her flight so I had to return to pick her up and pay another £7 luckily 30 minutes had passed otherwise it would have been another £27

yep. Drop off is a total money maker for them.
Stansted set-down and pick-up is a total rip-off.
