Hello Tailbo. I think you have a great future as a content provider. I don't own the Transalp, but after watching several videos I am becoming a fan. I am also a Florida guy, and I am interested in motorcycling anywhere in this great state.

Thanks for saying that, I have been trying to put in more effort in my recent videos to help out the Transalp community and provide some insight to the owners / potential owners! I have been absolutely loving my transalp so far and trying to make it my own. I think the worst part of riding in Florida is getting caught in traffic on these hot summer days or the rain storms that seemingly come out of nowhere. I have a house in rural Georgia and ride down to Florida a few times a week to see my family, do work, and occasionally I ride to the beach. The back roads / canopy roads are where you'll have the most fun especially if you are a nature lover like myself. Remember to stay hydrated and wear A.T.G.A.T.T :)

Thanks for posting this video as it was quite informative. Just wondering what gear shift you installed on the bike.

@@Tailbo what gear shift lever was that?

@@thefoggytrekker a.co/d/8G1OleI got it from Amazon. It might require a small spacer between the main bolt to the frame and the new shifter to move freely. Alternatively you could sand down the rear of the shifter so it's not contacting the frame. Use loctite on everything!!! I've had the shifter come lose on me without it and it's a pain.

I like the SW-Motech footpegs that have 36 positions in a circle.
I have then installed in the lowest position which is 15 mm (1/2") lower. They are almost 1 inch wider from the frame. I use them with the rubber peg insert removed.
After a few rides I like them and they are easier on my bad hips which was my objective.
My boots are a size 10 or 43 Euro.

Thanks for the review, I was surprised at how much larger the Altrider is vs the Tusk. I was impressed by how much bigger and better the Tusk was than the factory pegs but the Altrider should give much more support and placement options. I would think there would be more risk of scraping pegs with the larger peg but I don't corner fast enough to have it be much of a concern personally

Thanks for watching Greg! Honestly I’m not too worried about scraping because the second I drop it there would be scuffs either way. Adjusting the camber higher would give you less of a chance of scraping though. I’m the same way with cornering I’m not too aggressive. The only time if scraped pegs badly was in my rider training course on a much shorter bike doing some serious maneuvers.

I would be a little concerned about dragging these on sharp turns on road. I bought an aftermarket footpeg already, similar to the tusk in size and shape, and i catch them from time to time.

I would think adding the camber would reduce the risk quite a bit. You can add up to 3mm of spacers per side and I added 1.5 to mine. I was saying to a previous commenter that the benefits outweigh that con for me. If I drop the bike the peg will get scuffed either way and I don’t typically corner far enough to get close to scraping.
