I am Nephi Acaling. I am native to Bacolod City but currently living in Cebu City, Philippines. I’ve lived in different countries like Singapore, Japan and United States due to job assignments. In fact I was in the US when I started this channel thus the confusion sometimes where I am truly based.
I have completed my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree and I am currently working as a Project Control Engineer.
At a time, I was a band vocalist performing every Friday and Saturday night at a local bar chain but recently decided to quit from my band to focus on my TH-cam Channel and my full-time job as an engineer. I was also a member of the Filipino Voice Symphony where I was taught by professional chorale singers and we actually bagged the Gold Medal in the International A cappella Championships held in Singapore in 2011. I was also the Glee Club President and the singing trainer for various competitions when I was in the university which was a humbling experience for me.
Ever since, I started watching television as a kid, I realized that I enjoy analyzing and commenting on things related to singing performances. I believe this was the foundation of my interest towards making a reaction channel.
I am a self-motivated, and a disciplined soul. I am always keen to up-skill myself by learning new things whenever I get a chance.
My real strength is my attention to detail. I pride myself on being sensitive to the beauty of vocal embellishments, be it major or very subtle.
Most importantly, I keep my reactions real and natural.

Ghazal untuk Rabiah music have Andalusian music influence...that's why you can hear flaminco music in it.
It's hard to find a unique manly voice like Jamal in Malaysia. but, there is one singer that i just found out who has that similarity and his name is Zam Ryzam. He is Da Asia 4 contestant, a singing competition in Indonesia and thrust me, his voice are superb and the way he sing this 'Ghazal Untuk Rabiah' is almost as good as Jamal! go check him out Nephi.

The cloth over Dato Jamal's shoulder to hip nor under Dato M. Nasir's Baju Melayu is called Kain Pelikat or Kain Sarung wore as Sampin or Samping.
In Silat Melayu if Sampin wore inside/underneath the Baju Melayu carries calm yet cautious value(s).
If the Samping is on the outer layer around the waist, it is showing readiness to perform any defensive Silat movement, to carry the Keris etc.
When Sarung is over the shoulder it may works as bag, readiness to use Sarung as plain weapon nor as single nunchuck when filled with stone. This defensive yet deadly method is tought in Silat Sarung@Sarong (Bahasa Melayu Jawi being lingua franca) or Silat Malong as Pinoy Muslim way before known as Moro by Spain Colonial.
[Ma] in Malong is actually the [sin with alif = Sa] Arabic - Melayu Jawi letter, [long] is the letter L mistakenly written/read due to the Khat Art - Arabic writing styles. Supposed to be R, becoming r + ung= Rung (Sa.rung) or r + ong= Rong (Sa.rong).
Needed to show the Jawi writing for proving Sarung mistakenly wrote/read by Malay Pinoy as Malong in old Silat Scripture. God Almighty knows best.

Jamal a singer..m.nasir both singer n songwriter with hundred of hit songs by him or others. When both on stage they know they are singing with legend. Sometimes its just let the our partner sings and we enjoy it.

Nephi, in case you haven't been informed yet, this style of singing is known as "Irama Melayu", aka Malay Rhythm. So when you hear Siti Nurhaliza, Noraniza Idris, Jamal, M Nasir, etc. playing around with their voices - and sorry, I have no idea what the proper musical term is - then most probably it's Irama Melayu song.
You can hear this in many of Siti Nurhaliza's older songs, such as Cindai. This sound is characteristic to traditional Malay songs, and, since I have absolutely no musical talent or skill, I'll just believe it when I've been informed that it's quite hard to do.
There are fewer songs in this style lately, which is a shame, cuz in the hands of a truly skilled singer, it makes for an astouding piece of music.

Ones of the southern pennisular malaysian traditional/folks music. Ghazal for Rabiah is par beyond any songs had recorded and composed in malaysia (my personal opinion 😎)..its masterpiece frm M.Nasir (malaysian music meister/sifu). This song is dedicated for Rabiah Al Adawiyyah (a sufi)born in Basra(Iran) the lyrics contained elements of philosophy and essence of love and sacrifice of a sufi high integrity. She was kidnapped at young age and sold as slaves.She becomed a deeply pious and caused her to be freed by his master. Rabbiah became a well-known Sufi member of Basrah City and many people came to her for clarification of religion. During her lifetime, not only famous for her deep religious knowledge, but also for her religious poetic writing ✌(source:google 😉)

For your information, this kind of music (traditional malay song mixed arab and andalusian) are hard to deliver if the singers are not skillful enough. It's really challenging music genre.
