A melodic masterpiece with very graphic lyrics. If someone comes to your home to do you harm, don't feel bad about doling out violent retribution. I like Andy McMaster's voice for similar reasons to Ian Hunter's - an all-out volley of hurt.
This is WAY WAY WAY beyond a Broadway show. Clearly, this is from the point of a child witnessing poverty and the horrors of living with nothing. Guttural song writing with lots of heart.
You can hear him but not see him. He's on the recording but both the drummer and guitarist in this vid are just miming to others' playing. Don't know who they are. The bassist on the record and on screen, is Martin Ace.
God God, man. Jimmy Webb never wrote with such guttural grief and pain. Go sip your latte and munch your scone. This is not your "cup of tea." This is not some pop song, dude. This is pain.
I completely agree theres potential there but the song is too repetitive and annoying … its like they ran iut if udeas to do with the song even tho it starts interesting.
I already love this song
Absolute banger!
The Motors is a unique rock band. Unmatched till today. ''Airport'' is another great tune. Have been a fan since the 80's...fun time in Toronto!
Superb. Unforgettable
Can´t stop listen!!
These lyrics sew so real. Very emotional.
Dit vind ik een geweldig nummer ! Thanks
This is a Fantastic album, so overlooked.

Andy MacMaster had a brilliant new Album out in 2017. Take a look on his You Tube channel.😀
Weinig reacties terwijl dit toch een steengoed nummer is.
gentle giant anyone?
Good point, yes.
3 albums then did nowt since...what a waste.
Jimmy Webb homage surely? Brilliant nonetheless.
Interesting comment! Why a Jimmy Web homage?

@@74mpaul Comment is clueless. Misses the grief in this song. No insight at all.
I used to like this song when it came out, now its just to weird. All they say for most of the song is Tenement Steps.
I used to hear this on CFNY a huge new wave station. I don't understand this now. It sounds kinda awful.

I’m sorry but this sounds like bad Meatloaf
