Yet, I find that the comment I posed before this supporting a candidate didn't even make it to your updated version. The problem is, millions of people hear him talk and say "he's a Democrat and just playing favorites like they all do." Meanwhile they don't take the time to understand how the keys work. It's not about the candidates as much as it is about the strength and performance of the CURRENT White House party and whether the President seat is open and some other criteria about the parties. Actually his model is supposed to be bulletproof because he's predicting how people will vote. So basically you could sit on your ass and do nothing and people will go vote for Harris because the Keys say that people are motivated to go and vote for her. I have my doubts because she's a very unpopular candidate but apparently it's not about the candidate but about the incombent party retaining the White house regardless of the candidate.

Well he did the same with Hillary and it didn’t happen, so there are other things to be considered. When he predicted all those in the past, things were different, now we have an autocratic regime in the White House, they have super powered the Republican’s party. And I think this is the greatest factor to believe Kamala will wins yes or yes! It’s sad people don’t see the real truth, they are lying to us, while we pay for the war in Ukraine, Gaza, and much more. Don’t forget what she did in San Francisco the most beautiful town on the country. The border is still open, if she says she’s going to close it, why she hasn’t done it yet? No need for thanks. Prof Lichtman’s analysis is objective, fact-based and non-partisan. He’s not endorsing Kamala, he’s just predicting that she will win based on the 13 keys. In 2016, he predicted Trump’s victory even when 90% of the media predicted an easy Hillary victory. But I agree with you that this is good news for Dems.

I love your podcast. I started watching because I was curious. I’ve continued watching because I am intrigued by the intellectual conversation. When you address the questions in the comments, I enjoy the wealth of factual information you offer. I have started reading your books, Dr. Lichtman. I am learning so much about our election system. I also appreciate the logic of your system. Since I started to read and listen, I am gaining an awareness that gives me hope. Before I was overwhelmed by the mean-spirited, small-minded nature of popular politics that relies on low-level reactions. So much on social media generates mob mentality. @@reddog68u That is not how he measures the economy. He primarily looks for an election cycle recession (or widely perceived by the public as in recession) in the short term and for real per capita growth (often measured in real GDP per capita) compared to the average of the last 2 terms.

I'm on the Left, so tend to always vote Green. But there is an argument to vote for Harris to ensure Trump-Fascism is defeated.
Yeah it’s best to vote ‘tactically’ for Kamala as Trump is by far the bigger threat for the left and green policies. I say this as a lifelong Green Party voter in my early 40s - albeit one in the UK not the US. My city actually does have a Green MP in charge in our recent election but if there was even a small chance the terrible right wing party could have got in our constituency I’d happily have voted for whoever had the most chance to beat them. For the sake of world climate change we need Trump to not get back in or humanity is screwed.

He thinks we have a great economy he thinks there’s no problem with the Ukraine and Israel wars and he thinks there is no social unrest all three of which are tied to Harris.

@@Valerielopez2002 It's his model and his keys. He explained his reasoning fairly well for how he called his keys. You want to make your own model, he encouraged you to do so. What you can't reasonably do is tell him he is evaluating his keys incorrectly.

I hope this guy continues to be right; however, so many people in the comments are acting like Kamala's already won because he's predicted it. Let's not do that. This guy is human and may turn out to be wrong - remember he said debates don't have any bearing on who wins and look how the last debate basically guaranteed a Trump victory. We've spent so many years on this anxiety ridden roller-coaster, with the back and forth between Biden and Trump, the media vs Biden's performance and all the other craziness, and we've finally gotten to a place that is significantly more reassuring. I don't believe there is anything that suggests that the prediction is 'so statistically unlikely' to be wrong.
You can't apply Lichtman's previous predictions as a statistical basis for this election.
They're entirely separate events.

I get being worried, I'm not saying there is no reality where Trump wins, I'm just saying, it's absolutely fair to breath a sigh of relief given Allan's prediction at this point, and given his previous record. The odds are much more in our favor than not. There is no real reason to come this hard after my opinion on the matter. One political scientist got on you tube and said Biden endorsed Kamala has sort of a “screw you” to the Democrats who screwed him.
