I have one of these. It's a great knife. I bought it for myself as a condolence present after my father died. I think he would be happy knowing that I bought a traditional, American made, old school knife that would last me all my life.

I got my 120x with the same sheath in the military exchange when I was in the army. I carried mine in to a couple deployments. It's a great military scout knife. If I had to chose any other Buck knife, it would be the the stepped up version of the 120 with the textured handle. That's my only hang up with the knife is the smooth handle. They've been making the 120 since WWII. You can use this to debone, and completely butcher a carcass in the field without having to need any other knife. (I worked as a meat and seafood cutter's apprentice before joining the military). The "Blood Groove," is actually called a, "Fuller." It's to make the blade more rigid and lighter. The 120 is a keeper. It's an American classic. It's up there with the Jim Bowie knife and Texas Toothpick IMO.

The 119 is better for scalping, but for decent dispatching of human prey, the 120 has more opportunity.

Now I've had the 119 for years with no complaints AND, just picked up the 893 GCK but, that 120 filled the niche!!! Now, on to the 110... What oil do you use for your leather sheaths those sheaths look really good to be old like that. Buck is my favorite knife right alongside Kabar. Getting a 119 made with the same black phenolic handle but with S30V steel. I want to keep it traditional like the ones I remember growing up. Buck Knives is a Christian company and I like that. They are really awesome knives and I would not baton wood with mine unless I absolutely had to, I can watch other people beat up their Buck knives on youtube to know that it can. Buck knives have a hollow grind, so get a full flat grind if you want to beat it up on wood. I honestly think it's stupid to just rely on one knife to do everything, it could break if you're out in the woods out in the middle of nowhere only to find that you are surrounded by hardwood trees. I live in Canada so there's a lot of pine and fir trees which are softwoods but the bigger trees are the Maple and oak and I won't touch those unless it's deadfall, and with an ax.

Mythology has no place in a factual world except to creat harm and false narratives. I like Buck knives because they are a good product.

Yeah! And all the military forces in the world use Buck knives! Actually a Buck knife is a cheap piece of crap. Try throwing one and watch it break in half.

I have used them for years. They have always been very reliable. They also have the forever warranty. For throwing - I would use a throwing knife! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
