I am an old school rocker and am not much into todays music or bands. That being said this is one of my favorite alltime videos. Such a great ballad made even better with the full youth orchestra. WELL DONE KIDS WELL DONE!!! How many violins are in this orchestra. Such an angellic sound. Just beautiful!
THIS VERSION IS SICK!!! AMAZING that orchestra is huge look at how many violins there are. Just frickin amazing. Such a beautiful song. and this is coming from and old 70's rocker.
I don't like too many newer bands, but I have to say, These guys are simply amazing! Saw them at Indy a few months back, and man, what a show!!!!! They were PERFECT!!! Not many bands can perform at the level they do!
amen brother if you see this guy in concert he dosent junk up his songs with different beats he keeps it original. It makes the experience so much better!
This is one of those songs that i cannot listen to just once. NO WAY! I feel like a little kid that just got his first 45 (that is a record for all you young people) and sits in his bedroom and plays it 100 time in a row. I am 49 & this song just takes me to this fantasy place that i use to go when i was a kid. This is just one of those songs that makes me just melt inside. I cannot explain the feeling that comes over me. God i cant believe i just told the world that. what an idot you must think
I have said it before, and will again: Ed Roland is up-there with Neil Diamond in the quality of his lyrics, and the clarity and uniqueness of his voice. The Band are excellent, and Ed the indisputable leader of a marvelous phenomenon! You guys keep putting it out, I'll keep listening and buying! Thank you!!!
I hope to see them at Chicago this July..keep on singing Collective soul. Their songs are so good, I just can't help myself listening to it almost daily..:)
Thank you Collective Soul for this amazing song. The first time I heard this song , it was played at my sons funeral by his brother. The song still gives me chills, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you.
I love this idea of a Georgia band coming home and including future musicians to share in their music in Atlanta. Anyone who encourages our young Americans to love and appreciate gets extra Karma points with me anyday! I was so fortunate to have really special music teachers, parents, and friends in my life who helped me to love and respect the GIFT of music.
Run became my favourite Collective Soul song after being to one of their concerts when they did this as the last song of the encore. The energy of everyone else, it was just amazing. Any live rendition of this song almost makes my eyes damp, so much love for these awesome guys. Best band ever, I'll never say otherwise.
this one of few songs that can bring a tear to my eye for no reason but the beaty of it... this song just makes you think... about the past, the future, and the present
I LOVE COLLECTIVE SOUL, LETS HOPE THEY APPRECIATE their fans and are not to above everyone else... they are just people who have different talents than others
The orchestration in this video is simply amazing! I've always been a fan of Collective Soul--this song in particular--but the youth symphony adds SO much. Very nicely done. Glad these kids had a chance to contribute.
this version with the youth orchestra just blows the doors off any recorded or live version. I just love seeing all the kids. this must have been a thrill of a lifetime for these kids and they do an outstanding job. Can you imagine being in the classroom when the instructor told them that they would be performing with Collective Soul i bet it was pure bedlam. Just amazing version so soft and gentle but powerful.
Going back thru the years , many bands have done it, not to take anything away from Collective Soul because I think they're great. Moody Blues way back in the 70's did an album with the London Symphony....Procul Harum did also I believe. Many have done so and I fully agree its a great sound!
This had to be totally awesome experience for these kids. Can you imagine sitting in band when the teacher comes in and asks if anyone is up to playing backup to Collective Soul. I bet they just went nuts. That would be like my band teacher coming up to me way back when and ask us if we wanted to be back up to say the Bob Seger or someone like that. What a thrill! What a thrill for the parents. Great job guys and gals. Great Job!!!!
Live with an orchestra, what a beautiful, beautiful song! Has a bit of a Pink Floydish sound to it. It sits right up there with other big production numbers like "Long And Winding Road", "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", and "Comfortably Numb"! My favorite Collective Soul song by far.
I've loved Collective Soul's music for years since I spent some time in America and got into them in the 90s. Unfortunately, they're hardly known at all in England (where I'm from) which is a real shame because they're fantastic. This concert must have been amazing and I envy everyone who was lucky enough to have been there! The orchestra thing isn't uncommon but the fact that it was kids is. Run is one of my favourite songs of theirs and with the orchestra it's unbelievably even better!
This is such an amazing song, its so sad that not enough people appreciate it. There was a time when this would have been a song that everyone bought an album because of. What the fuck happened, I i wish people still loved great music like this.
thanks collective soul you made my day... you are superb... everyone should listen to you at least once in their lives... there is no going back after...
Wow these kids must have had such an enormous experience...i soo agree with brawltilldawn... symphonic music with rock is so awesome! Wow...ive started liking orchestras : D
They closed a knockout concert at the Fillmore on Irving Plaza in Manhattan (NYC) tonight with this as an ecstatic audience chimed in. Great show to launchg a new album
Are these times contagious I've never been this bored before Is this the prize I've waited for? Now as the hours passing There's nothing left here to insure I long to find the messenger Have I got a long way to run Have I got a long way to run Yeah, I run Is there a cure among us? From this processed sanity? I weaken with each voice that sings Now in this world of purchase I'm gonna buy back memories To awaken some old qualities Have I got a long way to run Have I got a long way to run Yeah, I run yeah, I run Have I got a long way? Have I got a long way? Have I got a long way to run? Have I got a long way to run? Yeah I run (Have I got a long way to run?) Yeah I run (Have I got a long way to run?) @GiantsSB2010 Hey yes, same as you... dissapointed at first, but it's all gone by this video. Love this orchestra version. Still waiting for them to come to Indonesia
These guys need the millions of views, not all these people who rap and cuss people out, is it because of bad parenting the teenagers today are like that or what?
