Hey buddy, I saw the key removal struggle on that clutch shaft, if you get a small tip punch and a light hammer and use gentle taps from the front or rear of the keyway, it should slide right out.
Amazing what a few turns of a few screws and bolts etc can do. Always was going to be fun getting that key out just looking at it on the screen. Think he is lucky to have you to offer some advice on the old unicorn for him.
Sometimes you can use a sacrificial blade screwdriver you’ve slightly bent on the end to drive under the end of your key and get one end to pop up which you can then pull out with your pliers - or continue driving the blade forward and it will push the remaining portion of the key out. I think these mowers are so cool. Where I live our ground would have to be a seriously leveled for it to work effectively. 😂 Unrelated….there’s some people I’d really hate to see fall face first into that mower. ☠️ 😝
G’day Alex😃. The unicorn refers to the solid deck 20” cut with triple rear rollers. And they are the most desirable of the model 45’s. I’m Not sure if they are rare as such.
I think other than the grind and new engine. I don’t think it’s had anything done to it. This is he’s first season with the machine. It’s all new to him. Hopefully he is willing to spend a few bucks on it over winter so we can get him on track👍🏻
Gday mate😃 The first series of the Model 45, known to many as a (solid deck). This particular model in a 20” cut and a triple rear roller is the most sought-after of all the 45’s some say they are rare. Therefore it has adopted the name ( unicorn ) I personally like them all 😃👍🏻

Great education for a lot of people.
Are you going to get a 20" now that you tried the unicorn?
G’day Robert 😃, I’m not actively looking for one. But if I happen to be in the right place at the right time🤷🏻♂️😃 never say never 👍🏻

Where there never many 20" SBs made is that why they're called unicorns?

looks like that machine is serviced by SRMC, man it needs a new clutch so bad!
