I made a previous comment about how this is on par with Autechre, but watching this again, I think this is really on its own tier, because this is literally ONLY machinedrum. You're on your own tier of amazing. I hope you make many more of these
People saying 'this is on par with Autechre', this came on auto-play and I thought this WAS Autechre lol Awesome job, absolutely putting the Machinedrum through it's paces!
Great work! Now i have to sit down with mine and figure out how you made those chime textures. 👌 Machinedrum is so clean and punchy. It sounds super digital, and not in a bad way.
Best, most flexible drum machine ever made / best and deepest machine concept ever. Absolutely no doubt about it. As a melodic spin off, Monomachine, while being my favourite synth ever, doesn't stand a chance in terms of flexibility. 6 tracks, while sufficient, don't match the insane 16 tracks opulence Machinedrum has to offer. I hope some day we will see a multitrack merge of the two cores : tons of tracks of proud digital synthesis with that silver machines industrial, interface and graphic design.
@@buromaschinen yes, just got MD and MONO less than 2 months ago, what a sound combo; just started to learn them, best purchase ever. It would take $5,000 of eurorack to cover what these 2 machines do.
Hey thanks! This track was still made on the official firmware, still no chromatic pitch so it was just tuning stuff by ear fiddling with the pitch knob. Mostly trial and error, nothing too exciting actually :) If you have any specific question feel free to ask!
@@buromaschinen Thanks for getting back, Im pretty new to the MD, just starting building my own kits and wrapping my head around all the possibilities. Still kind of mind blown by what you made right here. I have started deconstructing the AE set and seeing how each sound was made. Gotten a drone kit, the 909ish kits from JustinValer,... and a jungle kit with a chopped amen so far. Id be up for some additional geeking exchanging some sysex kits if ur into it! All the best!
Hi, I really like your performance! I have a quick question: what is it that you do with holding the Classic/Extended button while changing parameters? I've seen it elsewhere, but I'm wondering how it works and how it is called (so as to look for it in the manual!). Thanks! :-)
Function + Extended combo reverts all parameters in the current kit to the last saved status. Basically you can mangle all parameters on all tracks even to extreme directions being confident that with just a key press everything will get back in place like they were from the starting point of your exploration. Excellent to create variations that can then be saved as a new kit, it really is a massive tool - if not the best - for live performing.
Wow this is impressive. I have seen a lot of videos and this is the best by far!!! How can you get that massive kick? I want a MD but a lot of people told me that the kicks aren't too good, but man you're kick have a lot of punch!! Do you layered it?
Hey, thanks! No layers. Single TRX BD2 machine. MD has HUGE kicks (fm and pi machines can generate monster kicks). It can be almost too powerful at times. I usually route kick and snares on a dedicated mono output which helps a lot for delivering powerful percussive hits that cut thru the mixes.
@@buromaschinen Thanks for the Insight! I find the kick triggers the internal compressor far too hard. TRX BD2 quickly became my fave kick template on the MD.
Thanks! I installed it a while ago and it's amazing. I will definitely give it a try as soon as I will have some time to get deeper inside it. It's been a year or so since I had the chance to play, unfortunately! Too much work to do on my last comicbook trilogy!
The sound of MD is unique also the OS is great but I like to use it with my Dynacord tape echo to warm it up a little with tape saturation otherwise the kick sounds from MD are just too cold, dead. This machine is great for experimental type of music. The best drum for me. Check my recordings.
Holy fucking Shit damn I own one for a few months but barely had time to reach something this deep. For how long have you had this Elektron ? Deep & Melodic 10/10
This is reeeally good. Thanks for sharing. Going to watch more of your stuff now. I watched this with this (th-cam.com/video/FGgtwEQ-BTk/w-d-xo.html) playing over the top. They went pretty well together actually. This is great though. Time to hook up my machine drum. I'm inspired.

They actually did a Machinedrum only track so no, I'm not alone. :D

Now I’ve seen every machinedrum jam on yt and to me this is just something else, another league. Bravo e continua così

Awesome job, absolutely putting the Machinedrum through it's paces!
Funny - i stumbled across your monomachine-only tracks on bandcamp a while back.
And now this. You really know how to take the best out of these two.
Absolutely wicked!
wonderful
wow. these sounds are just incredible - all put together with excellent composition.
Good use of those bells!
Edit: this is the best Machinedrummin on youtube.
Probably the best Machinedrum demo out there.
this one is special

Excellent jam oh my god!! This rivals MANY jams on YT, hats off to you
Awesome work!! One of the best examples of what a Machinedrum is capable of, on par with Autechre. Please post more! :D
Very impressive work. I have this machine for years and I'm pretty sure I haven't went this far with it !
I don't know if I'm more amazed by the fact that those pads are coming from FMCYM or that the Machinedrum was released 20 years ago.

This is amazing. Awesome track.
Thanks, MIDERA !
best drum machine ever....no contest even from Elektrons analog rytm
I agree.
@@buromaschinen may I just say sir I have watched your videos for a number of years
And you handle that machine very well
Amazing
Wow. Thats impressive. By the looks of it, you have put in the 1000 hrs required to achieve MD mastery. Kudos.
Super wicked track, great work !
As a die hard Autechre fan, I don't find this reminiscent of ae that much. It is however great in its own way, which I think is better, excellent!
Thanks!
Seriously amazing work!!!
Bloody stupendous!
Sublime
Amazing track, would love to see a breakdown of your process with the MD. Especially for the pitched elements. Great work!

This is great! Just bought the EP.
Thank you so much!
Hope you'll like it!
Love it!

Amazing, I never had the patience to do this kind of stuff with the MD
That’s some amazing work man! Love the harmonics 👍🏼👌🏼. Thanks for sharing.
very nice !
Thank you!

Great stuff. Love it.
It is wonderful to make this far with one unit. I also want to emulate.

hahah thanks!
just amazing! will you make some new performance vids with custom firmware x.05?
I like this. Have you used the unofficial OSX yet?
yes, but still have to really go deep into the true possibilities. Missing so much a chromatic mode also for the sample section. :) Glad you liked it!

Superb track on MD! Did you add some external reverb or other, seeing that you used 4 outputs ?
Hey thanks! No. I used the additional outputs just to have a mono kick and snare for mixing purposes. No external fx, just MD.
