My jeep has that extra cap too and its on the front side also! I highly doubt its for hot water. Those are drain holes for the rain water!! And the nissan tail light.. otherwise excellently restored
Hi Herambh, great observation, the fuel tank sump used to have two holes i wish i could send you a picture of that here but on youtube i cannot otherwise it would have been easier to explain you this process... so if you have a hole at the front side is because there used to be a rubber seal that was glued on MB to protect it from fire / used cartridges but most importantly cigarettes butts but please see the design of the FORD / Willys Fuel sump you will know where the two caps came.. the use was to pour hot water it has nothing to do with rain water atall Now comes the part of Lights ... there are two types of restorations this my friend is not OE (originally Equipped) its PR (Preserve and restore) i have kept it exactly how it was kept by the Nawab ... everyone can make originals but not many can restore and preserve the machine as it was then !!

How did these Willys and Ford war jeeps come to India?
Thank you Sir - you are extremely generous with your compliments. We are only trying to catalogue these age old beauties. Both very close to my heart - my school and a GPW restored by my baby brother Ranjit Singh Namli. Thank you for watching and please do continue to watch and share.
@@BhopaliTales that's great but you didn't answer my question, namely how did these jeeps got to India???
My jeep has that extra cap too and its on the front side also! I highly doubt its for hot water. Those are drain holes for the rain water!! And the nissan tail light.. otherwise excellently restored
Hi Herambh, great observation, the fuel tank sump used to have two holes i wish i could send you a picture of that here but on youtube i cannot otherwise it would have been easier to explain you this process... so if you have a hole at the front side is because there used to be a rubber seal that was glued on MB to protect it from fire / used cartridges but most importantly cigarettes butts but please see the design of the FORD / Willys Fuel sump you will know where the two caps came.. the use was to pour hot water it has nothing to do with rain water atall
Now comes the part of Lights ... there are two types of restorations this my friend is not OE (originally Equipped) its PR (Preserve and restore) i have kept it exactly how it was kept by the Nawab ... everyone can make originals but not many can restore and preserve the machine as it was then !!
@@ranjitsnamli2961 thankyou for the information hukam. My willys mb(Lalgarh) purchased by my great grandfather in 50s has two bullet holes on chasis behind the rear wheel..
Herambh Chauhan aarey waah hokam !! Laalgarh jeep .... sangram dada has it he was our senior in Daly college waah yeh toh gazab ho gaya lovely coincidence !!
@@ranjitsnamli2961 yes hukam he is my father😀
Trust this is sorted between Ranjit and you. I am OCD about open comments and decided that both of you figure it out of not resolved Hahahahaha. Taking a call as a senior and it stands closed.

There is a place in Rajasthan called Sikar - this has been approved by Kaiser Willys to manufacture the body and parts for all models. If you wish to restore it in Venezuela then I can give you the contact. Everything will be shipped to Venezuela.

Hey my jeep has that hot water chamber near petrol tank
Thanks for watching and the hot water chamber is something rare so please do not change or modify. Please do continue to watch and share
Hii can you find jeeps for sale
Your best bet is Punjab - there are many people reconstructing these from scratch and they will make it to order. I just heard of a CJ 3A and a Ford GPW that is for sale in Bhopal, i could get details should you be interested. Just to let you know - the prices people are asking now are a bit over the top specially if to an extent it retains its original character.
@@BhopaliTales I will finding ford jeep in reasonable price mean not so high
@@manvendrasingh1391 That is the best - these are very personal choices and best made by oneself. Good luck with looking for a Ford and the restoration.
@@BhopaliTales sir I am also owner of 60 bigha in Punjab I will have to go farm every week,I will prefer jeeps to go farm but I don't think that gpw will fulfill my demand
@@manvendrasingh1391 No - I don't think so. You are better off with an air conditioned Thar. That will be more practical - get the old model soft top.

Lol indeed a unique ford gpw with a willys mb chassis with nissan 1 ton taillights.
This is a very unique jeep indeed ... as mentioned there are two types of restoration one is OE (original equipped) another is Preserve and restore .. i have taken the second option and kept it exactly how nawab saheb had kept it !!!!
@@ranjitsnamli2961 I am sure nawab saheb knew his jeeps and wouldn't have done the mods that are seen in the jeep.he wouldn't have used 1 ton back lights for sure.secondly the hole in the petrol tank sump was not for what has been told in the video,it was to drain the water from inside the jeep after river crossing or washing.
Samar Aulakh below the petrol tank there is no connection for a drain !! Above the fuel sump the petrol tank fits ... think about it !!
@@ranjitsnamli2961 look carefully the petrol tank is L shaped and fitted in the sump with little space between the sump floor and the bottom of the tank, the water would drain into this place under the tank from where it was drained by opening the drain cap ,hence it was called sump drain.check the original ford & willys manuals ,you will get what I am saying. Attaching an article which will support claim.www.ewillys.com/2019/11/19/draining-away-the-water/
Samar Aulakh kamaal kiya saheb !! Great piece of information shared ... this is why its important to share views - to gain knowledge !! Waah waah waah thank you !!
