    What is heart-warming is the passion and love with which these machines have been nurtured, its almost how one would treat a queen. Laadli, as it was called, seems most affectionate.
    Showcasing the 75 yr old beauty in the backdrop of another 150 yr old marvel only added the magnificence of the legends.

    • @BhopaliTales
      @BhopaliTales  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I also fell in love with the name "Laadli"...specially given by Nawab Saab Palanpur. The experience was surreal to shoot the video in a 75 year old beauty and our Alma Mater. cannot get any better

      Thank you Sir... You are extremely generous with your compliments...The cj3B was truly iconic itself.. It also happens to be the 55th anniversary of an Epic battel
      The iconic Mahindra CJ3 with the Hurricane petrol engine and Borg Warner 3 speed gearbox and transfer case.
      With the Vickers Recoilless 105 mm calibre gun. Used to devastating effect in the Battle of Assal Uttar in the Khem Karan Sector, Sept 8 - 10, 1965. Havaldar Abdul Hamid of the Grenadier Regiment won the Param Vir Chakra when he destroyed some 6 Goliathan Pak tanks using this little David of a Mahindra Jeep with the Vickers RCL. facebook.com/groups/BhopaliTales/permalink/431446601161282/?comment_id=431541184485157&reply_comment_id=432083324430943

      @BhopaliTales  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes correct..There are very few differences between a Willy's Mb and a Ford GPW.. Ford was only engaged by the US Govt. because they needed more Jeeps and they were the only Company with a production line..The 'W' of GPW stands for Willy's. Ford stopped production of the GPWs in 1945..Furthermore, the American Govt. appointed one common parts supplier in 1944 called The American Central Body - in order to standardize parts. So when these vehicles headed back to the Military workshops - the priority was to turn them around to get back on the field, at that time lots of the parts between the MBs and GPWs got interchanged. Trust this answers the question.. Although Ford had marked most of their parts with the 'F' insignia, still time was of essence and parts got interchanged between both..

      @ranjitsnamli2961 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Herambh, great observation, the fuel tank sump used to have two holes i wish i could send you a picture of that here but on youtube i cannot otherwise it would have been easier to explain you this process... so if you have a hole at the front side is because there used to be a rubber seal that was glued on MB to protect it from fire / used cartridges but most importantly cigarettes butts but please see the design of the FORD / Willys Fuel sump you will know where the two caps came.. the use was to pour hot water it has nothing to do with rain water atall
      Now comes the part of Lights ... there are two types of restorations this my friend is not OE (originally Equipped) its PR (Preserve and restore) i have kept it exactly how it was kept by the Nawab ... everyone can make originals but not many can restore and preserve the machine as it was then !!

      Thank you Sir - you are extremely generous with your compliments. We are only trying to catalogue these age old beauties. Both very close to my heart - my school and a GPW restored by my baby brother Ranjit Singh Namli. Thank you for watching and please do continue to watch and share.

    • @BhopaliTales
      @BhopaliTales  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your best bet is Punjab - there are many people reconstructing these from scratch and they will make it to order. I just heard of a CJ 3A and a Ford GPW that is for sale in Bhopal, i could get details should you be interested. Just to let you know - the prices people are asking now are a bit over the top specially if to an extent it retains its original character.
