It's crazy to see that hockey is not even US's game but yet can romp on teams who claim it is theirs. It seems like hockey comes first in Canada when deciding a sport rather football, basketball, or baseball here in the US. We know all know Canada has the talent to compete. I think Canada just had a rough year this year. I hope hockey grows more in the US though. It really is a fun sport to play and watch.

I can completely understand that. I was just saying population usually doesn't mean anything, especially if you live in a developed country. I live in Pennsylvania and wanted to play hockey growing up, but my parents couldn't afford it growing up. I instead played soccer, t-ball, and swam for the swim team.

I hate when Canadians say it was luck for them, USA fought hard in that tournament and they deserved it (a Canadian)

Brooks Orpik is a good defenseman whether you like it or not. He is getting older. I do believe he helped the Penguins win a Stanley Cup.

Yeah, most of it has to do with the closeness of Canada to the US. Anywho, USA has some beast ass players holy shit. And most of them are young bucks!

300+ million people who primarily play football, baseball, soccer, basketball, golf, etc. USA hockey players primarily come from northern states (especially Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, etc.), which if you add of the populations of the states it would come out to about the population of of those states it is around the population of Canada, 30+ million. Population doesn't mean anything. USA won more medals than China at the 2012 Olympics, when China has 1+ billion people! Stop whining.

USA coaches never focus on skill? You apparently don't watch hockey. Bylsma, Tortorella, Laviolette. They don't focus on skill? Oh yes, Callahan, Giroux, Hartnell, Crosby, Malkin, Neal, etc are horribly skilled players since their American coaches never focus on individual skills!

yes please go on wth your list of 30 goal scores and maybe one 40 goal season, please do.lol you didnt even include ryan miller.sorry but 6 usa players were in the top 25 in scoring last year, thats pretty good right.what a joke.coaches in the usa suck and never focus on indivdual skills thats why they have none.which 1 of these scrubs you named can stick handle like datsyuk.besides maybe books orpik r u serious, brooks orpik you used him to try to get your point across...the olympics says it all

Trent Aubie That's cute. How does it feel that all of your top players get recruited to play in the States on cup winning teams. IE Chicago, LA, Pittsburgh?
