    I recently bought this pole saw and for this 71 yr old grandma, I needed a while to install the chain and get comfortable just using the saw. Today I tackled my neighbors tree that has (had) overgrown branches that were dropping tons of leaves and these little black beans on my concrete pathway. The saw cut like butter. I was so amazed how easy the saw cut and how fast the branches dropped. Next week I am going to tackle the front -- so much better that hiring someone. Keeping this saw close.

    I love this saw. I've gotten soooo much use out of it. The chain lasted a long time and spares are easy to find (as of 2023). It's very solidly built. I was going to rent one (for roughly the same price) for one weekend's work and decided to buy instead.

      @@CB-RADIO-UK I just finished the pruning of my tree with this saw. I agree it is very top heavy when fully extended and when pruning more horizontally. The chamber for the oil is also a bit small. However I'm very pleased with it. It cuts through quite thick branches like butter and it is great value for the money. Your review was spot on 👍

    Very helpful review. I've just bought one of these and have a few observations:
    1) As stated in this review, the initial assembly instructions are basic to say the least, but I followed them with no problem. You just need a bit more time and patience.
    2) The instruction booklet suggests you soak the chain in chainsaw oil for 1 hour before you first use it. There is no oil provided in the box and this process makes the initial build a bit more tricky - but it's still fairly easy.
    3) You can cut through pretty big branches with this saw - I've not measured it, but I reckon at least 5-6 inches in diameter. A bonus really as I wasn't expecting such performance.

      @CB-RADIO-UK  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ive used mine a few times now and iam still impressed. Your right i went through a 6" branch without any issue. My only complaint is that when fully extended its a heavy tool to operate.

    I just bought one. Have you noticed that the instructions booklet is completely missing the part describing how to fill up the reservoir with oil? (At least within the English and the French language parts). No drawing neither. OK, it seems obvious for anyone used to those kind of machines, but still, I think this shouldn't be missing from any manual of any chain saw. The only reference to the oil is when the booklet says any new chain has to be first soaked in oil for at least one hour, before installing it. And that the machine is equipped with an auto-lubricating system. But how to ensure that the system gets the oil is completely absent.

      Did you put the chain on the right way round?

  • @RogueDalek
    @RogueDalek 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just got one of these from Amazon and have used it this morning for the first time - perfect for what I needed and I'll be back out using it again just as soon as the rain stops. I agree that the instructions are rubbish. As you say, it's essential that the chain is never allowed to run dry and there's an auto-oiling system, but the instructions completely miss this out - there's no instruction at all to add any oil! Also, a lot of these instructions just seem to be B+D's generic chainsaw guidelines copy-and-pasted, so confusingly don't apply to the pole saw (e.g. "Do not cut above shoulder height").
    I noticed that in your video you put the chain on dry and oiled it heavily before first use. My instructions advise soaking the new chain in oil for an hour before installing it which I did overnight and some people might find easier and less messy. YMMV.

    • @CB-RADIO-UK
      @CB-RADIO-UK  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good shout on the oil. The instructions are very poor. Also the fact the saw does not fit back in the box when constructed is also not good. However the saw does work well enough.

      And you're sure you're not tightening the chain too much? Maybe try starting each new branch-cut gently with less pressure and with a more over-back-and-downwards, "rocking" or arched motion rather than just keeping the saw's cutting edge straight-lined from start-to-finish/top-to-bottom.
