They definitely come in handy. Low pros and deep sockets always seem to come in super handy. I have a whole assortment, myself. Also, VIM makes good stuff.
I've been saving to invest in the Koken Zeal zeal series of shallow chrome sockets. They're about a 3rd shorter than other brands of shallow depth sockets available. They're a little expensive but still at least half what you'd pay to the tool truck. Koken stuff is super nice and well made. All I've been able to get so far is a Zeal series 3/8 ratchet, some different size pinless swivels, and some short spinner adapters. I really appreciate more compact tools when I'm wrenching on compact equipment and atv's.

Other than the obvious ratchet size difference (3/8 vs 1/2) - what are the differences/similarities between the Quinn and Astro sets?
