    I want an hour (at least) long technical breakdown of the machine, and overview of all it's features, a history lesson on the company, and of course, a top to bottom deconstruction of the machine. Get to script writing, i expect it on my desk by monday.

    Cool video.
    LOGO on a VTECH children's laptop?
    LOGO, developed around 1976, was a widely used programming language in the 80s. Quite interesting to use.

      Yoo no way! I didnt know that, thank you for sharing that

    That programming language is called LOGO and it’s used to teach kids how to program

  • @aaronbrandenburg2441

    I do actually remember programming in the logo language years and years ago and later learned if you use logo righter essentially was an upgraded logo program from the original
    Keep in mind this was able to be run on a IBM XT although it required to color monitor of course.
    The weird thing is trying to get to run we had to load another program that would use the color monitor to essentially trick the computer into using the color monitor for some reason did not play nice with the system with switching over to color monitor in running logo writer!
    I got pretty good at the programming.
    When the big bosses with logo Ryder was the ability to have four logo Turtles running simultaneously.
    A lot of additional functions even being able to do on screen text and much more.
    I do remember even having in the program the ability to use the IBM joystick as an input device.
    I know one person that actually managed to program a game using just the Stock Program which is actually I'm pretty cool one eventually wound up saving it to a separate disc for preservation once he got it going.
    And also I remember the shapes page quite well where you can actually essentially have stamps or use them as Sprites.
    There was a lot of movement and even the ability to use the pin PX essentially to erase and rewrite a line or otherwise which was pretty cool.
    Also there was the ability to do some animation in a few ways
    I never once even doing a scene where there's a waving flag.
    Essentially was just using a few of the shapes Naked Express with just slight differences a switching between them as a waving flag.
    There were actually some quiet capable kids computers back in the day if I remember correctly as well.
    There were a few that could use a printer as well not just this particular one in in this video may have been it looks like one of those brother or whatever things but more like a kid's computer.
    Had full on normal ports for Io.
    I think he was running a variant of Linux on it basically turning into quite powerful terminal was running some other projects via the ports mostly parallel port but also using the serial ports

      Omg this is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing that, IBM XT? Isnt that like 80s tech? But its interesting that LOGO was actually a real thing and tought to children back then through those laptops.

    @2:00 not might be serial although usually that would be a male DB9 instead of a female, many early monitors of the 80s were DB9 female, running either MDA\CGA\EGA, still a very need little machine, i had another vtech that i used the case for a cyberdeck and the original motherboard had a Z80 microprocessor and rand a version of BASIC

    Logo is more like a scripting language for plotting. Most implementations rationalise that you're giving commands to a robot or "turtle" with a pen that can be lifted or placed on the canvas, and those commands are usually along the lines of "move forward", "rotate left" etc and so on. Syntax may vary.

    • @cherrycorestuff

      Ohhh now that you say that and i look back at it it makes way more sense (rt is rotate and fd is forward) thank you so much! ^^

      IIRC, one of VTech's earlier models, the I.T. Laptop (which is apparently shockingly rare nowadays), had you write out the emails on the device, but then connect it via serial to a Windows PC to send and receive using VTech's own proprietary software.
      I can only assume that was still the case with this model.
