My favorite version of "My Funny Valentine" ever! This song, and version, has haunted me ever since I heard it performed (by an lipsynching Demi Moore) in No Small Affair. Nothing I've ever heard has even come close to conveying the song's emotion and anguish like this version!
I was so excited when I bought this soundtrack on cassette when I was in high school. Drove my mom nuts singing with the my broom as my microphone. I miss fun movies like this.
Ah, GlitterWave80s....if you really knew the whole story! I will tell you this: it had nothing to do with Demi "finding her sound" and everything to do with her...habits, that interfered with her being able to get up the necessary chops to cut the gig. So, Rupert called me to cover her and kept it a secret until just before the premiere. She was, of course, FURIOUS. Because I was a quick study session singer, I was on call with several producers to pump up wimpy vocals. Recorded some fat & fluffy bgvox for Celine, too, right around that time, too late to get credited on the "album" but that fat gave her project a whole lot more flava. La. A lifetime ago......
