I sometimes miss the massive fleet engagements. It could be a bit hectic and a way to loose a lot of ships in one go, but it worked in the other direction as well. I t was a great opportunity to annihilate an enormous number of enemy hulls in a single engagement. There's nothing like seeing 6 x BCs sweep the ocean clear of 100 enemy units in on go.
I think a major reason I’m glad they’re gone is largely performance wise. The game just couldn’t handle all that many objects. Gameplay wise, I never played it, so if they could fix the performance, I wouldn’t object to seeing them again.
2:00 yeah i found that one out myself: sometimes you can't change the Speed. And i dont know what to do to make it work again. It mostly does, because of reasons..... If it doesn't, let it be and your Ship will never slow down, even with heavy dmg and engines disabled. Now that i call a feature! xD
At least two reasons DD's take less damage from torps is 1) Their relatively light weight means when hit, the torp explosion has more of a push effect on the target ship, like a boxer rolling with a punch, lessening its impact. 2) Thin armour is actually more effective against torp blasts as it bows/bends inward, like reason 1, providing a shock absorbing effect rather than splitting or shattering. Think hitting a coke can with a nail and hammer(shell) the nail passes through easily and explodes inside. Hit a coke can with just the hammer(torp) you make a big dent, but no hole.
Playing as Russia would be pretty interesting I guess. This country never really priorotised the fleet in its entire history and opposing countries like UK, US, Germany and others (I assume) would be challenging
So I started an 1890 ah campaign after I lost my 1890 usa campaign, which I made it to 1945 before my laptop turned itself off and deleted both my saves, my first plan in this new campaign is to immediately take over Italy
they have fixed divisions, so large fights are doable now, if you find its still not working, turn off avoid torpedoes and collisions. also any idea if you can invade through sea smaller nations. i think alliance still needs work
something similar happened to me in my campaigne i normally dont build ships till i get a few techs so i found my self in a war with russian empire with zero ships so i had to mass produce 1000 ton dds to hold the line i ended beating them into submission with 100 dds and 30 CLs
Duck hunt is so annoying when you're trying to chase down fast destroyers with battleships. This game is so much fun, but that aspect of the game is very annoying.
I think they should focus the game more on the naval battles till it's 100% and then on the other stuff. It could be such an awesome game already !!!! ;-)
I started download the game again, but thought i would watch one of your episodes to see if the game offers any decent opposition, and now im cancelling the download.
The absolute power move of calling the battle you had with the enemy a "Duck Hunt" has the same energy of a certain Turkey Shoot.

Glad I managed to pick it up for $5 at some point because it definitely isn't worth $50 but it is fun.

I have found if you change directions with the ship it normally frees it up

i find it the best way to sink dd is by 13 inch armed battleships firing he shells just one salvo and the dd is sinking
