Not african but can relate 100%. Mom is peruvian and dad cuban… moved to the us at 18. I’m 38 now. I had the blessing of traveling around the world. Dont get me wrong….im grateful to the US for giving me a good life for 2 decades but i’m ready to experience something else. I don’t wish to raise a family here.
As a people who has already struggle I am not going to go to another country and struggle more
All immigrants all across the planet struggle upon arrival. Even immigrants migrating to the United States. The difference is that they have built networks overtime that enable the transition to work out for them. But they don't know the language, customs etc. They have a strong work effort and succeed overtime. Black Americans like you are lazy and unwilling to sacrifice and make a contribution unless you yourself can benefit immediately. All Black Americans and Diasporans can make a contribution.
I don't know the culture and laws well enough not to get taken advantage of over there. Especially as a woman. I will visit but I'm not moving.
If you’re struggling where you are this is not the place for you definitely. You having an understanding of your surroundings and situation will keep you from wrecking your life here in Africa. I wish others that are in the same circumstances would understand this.

As a 66 year old elder who was born into segregation in a republic that never saw myself and my melaninated sisters and brothers as human made our path very difficult. I have been blessed with the opportunity to live around this world from the Netherlands, UK, UAE (Dubai), Saudi Arabia, China (Shanghai), and Rwanda (Kigali) and return to the place of my birth to honor a promise made to my father. I will be transparent and say that I am no longer interested in living in this rotten racist republic. But I am willing to sacrifice the next 4 years and 2 months to reach a goal which will benefit my wife as I believe that she deserves it. But while the time passes, I am researching and formulating a plan to spend what time I have left to travel and enjoy my remaining days doing what I love. As much as I love Rwanda, I completely understand what you mean when you say "I DESERVE BETTER". I agree with you 100%! THE truth is that WE DO DESERVE BETTER. I am looking forward to spending time between Southeast Asia and Rwanda. If it is the will of the Almighty Most High, I will have that opportunity. Brother, while you can, ENJOY YOUR WIFE BROTHER! Rwanda is doing some strange things politically recently. Are they offering you no fuss Citizenship for relocating? Voting rights? Equal rights as born Rwandans? If not then maybe it's not the place to go. What about the Caribbean Islands like Grenada?
Visit Kenya too. You will feel at home.

I’m African and Africa is one of the best places in world. Because it is stress free. You don’t have to work like a dog to pay bills. There’s so many beautiful places in Africa and we eat fresh food and organic. It is wonderful over there ❤

Let just keep it real I'm here in Ghana and I'm from America and now that l have spent around 2 years on and off in Accra Ghana l must say its still a third world country in many ways because of the government system that put in place. The Asian and Lebanese are the backbone behind most of the upscale stores and restaurants. The local restaurants are outdated, the public transportation like old and rundown, lack of good roadways, to many unpaved roads that makes it difficult during rainy season, infrastructure issues because it seem they have to many not completed structures throughout the country, and improper storm drains and open sewage drainage along with high food prices, and malaria issues.
@@edwingross9778 being a 3rd world country in some areas is not that bad it can be fixed . America too has some aspect of 3rd world country in certain area. The lebanese and asian dominated the economy in some countries is due to savage hospitality from Africans towards those foreigners and. also Africans are very naive and genuine people they do not think those people will hijack their economy they see them as people they rescued.from war.specially the Lebanese. It is almost identical too the Asians or middle easterns people flooding to the Black areas to open businesses You have been in Ghana other countries are different from Ghane. APTTMH, you ain’t lying. I’m 57, raised 5 kids as a single parent living in Maryland. I just retired and truly realize that I wouldn’t have survived without my faith in the Most High and following the Torah.
I'm doing that now raising 17,16,15,11 you put one step forward then a obstacle a bill a call from the school knock on the door the sirens constant noises distractions,, yep the most high deep meditation fresh air faith got us through controlling my emotions be calm etc etc no accountability for those that do you wrongs you meant to be superwoman or else..I just breathe. Now I'm taking action especially the fathers that remain invisible. It just seems so artificial. Keep strong keep the visions endurance patience self discipline. Staying home watching those go by carefree whilst you feel stuck..yet mum and dad had the high life in the 70s yet you grow up left to figure it out.. exhausted but determined🤎

I'm also 58 but truly glad I grew up in my generation. I just want to thank you for sharing your traveling journey. I followed you for years and it made me realize no place on this earth is perfect and we won't get to experience true perfection until we enter into the Most High Kingdom.
It was all worth it because you discovered your Hebrew roots and you helped others do the same. Look how powerful that is.

Im a retired U.S Navy Veteran, I left the U.S 2021 move to Merida Mexico, for 2 years. Now I live in Jomtien Thailand 🇹🇭. It’s the best decision I made in my life. The U.S. is not my home anymore. Im a 68 year old Black God. Living my best life 🙏.

I've found the African culture of interdependency a bit challenging. The idea that when you have people expect you to just give them; even when you don't have. Africans need to negotiate a lifestyle that encourages self sufficiency. We just can't be begging or expecting a bribe of some sort. It leaves some people feeling short-changed and used. Also, it is possible to live a minimalist selfsufficient lifestyle in Africa but somehow people don't seem to be creative enough to do that
What’s crazy to me…is Africa is the richest continent on earth. Africans can dig in their back yards, and find precious gems, gold, silver, copper, cobalt…etc. We are the descendants of Tribe of Judah. Africa cursed itself, once they sold Jesus’ bloodline to the colonizers. Now, they suffer…without realizing that if we all come together…NOTHING (but Yah) would be able to stop us!

As a retired Educator who poured my life into forty five years of looking out for our youth in our community. I loved watching and listening to you throughout the years. I was BLESSED to visit Five countries in Africa, after visiting Europe and realizing I want to see the places of both my GrandFathers birth.

But when I made it to Ghana to do an Artist Collaborative. Being called an Abruny=Obruunee!
I was in total shock about being charged way more money than the locals in order to gain access to various places. The list goes on.
You are absolutely correct about not having male protection and representation if we plan to relocate. My Husband said, "No! We are American and no matter where we go....we will always be viewed as Americanas!
America is my home and l have visited Ghana many times and its a very peaceful Country but its not comparable to how good you can live in the USA. Issues in Ghana is infrastructure, very bad roads, and most not paved and the ones that are paved lacking upkeep. The price of food in their grocery stores are priced above the prices in America.

Black Americans and our ancestors fought too hard for everything in this country to give it up. I will continue to travel but I am not moving to any country in Africa. My home is here.
The smart play for Black Americans is to invest in African economies. Just like The Jewish Community invests in Israel. They actually organize spending trips to Israel. They gather dozens of wealthy members of their community together and they travel there with the goal being to spend money and support the economy. That's the least we can do. Beyond that we would be smart to launch businesses there. Partner with local entrepreneurs, provide funding, set up consulting firms, get involved in lobbying efforts that encourage opening the American economy to African businesses, set up student exchange programs with HBCU's etc.

I have always been dubious of the notion of blacks going to Africa seeking
economic, social, and political freedom when those same Africans are leaving Africa in greater numbers seeking the same. Africa is a colonized continent still and we must get past the notion that Africans are free, just like us they live in confinement with European imposed limitations. They are no freer than we are here.
Africa as it stands now, was constructed for the benefit of neo-colonialization for resource extraction and European clandestine global domination.

I'm going to exclude ES and Vin man from my response because I saw something different in her trials and tribulations. Not saying that she never did or said certain things, but the majority of these youtubers on the back to Africa journeys were all on the same trip, many would not have survived if not for donations, godfundme's, selling scam-like consultations, boosting their own businesses and hiding issues, doing raffles and the most egregious things 99.9% of them are guilty of is, lying, hiding, and minimizing harmful truths including goblack. It's good some are being honest now but just think about the people who lives may have been ruined believing them and hardly any of them are taking accountability for lying, scheming and providing disinformation for selfish gains.

My early life was some of the best times circa 60's 70's 80's. Had one of those amazing ❤️mothers❤ 🕊️. Neighbors would watch and correct us as children in the community especially in the 60's. And I did almost every outdoor activity you can name throughout my childhood, including sleigh riding from high hills in snowstorms. Thanks to my parents, I have so many sweet memories that I cherish 🎇. Nowadays, I cry because children can't really just be children like our generation could. Everything is so different. Sometimes it feels like I am living in a twilight zone. I made it through because of the TMH's covering and protection 🙏🏾. I'm am so grateful.

You are right. We deserve better! A place that gives us a sense of community and acceptance and peace of mind ( I can't stress on peace of mind enough). A place we can just flow as a melanated people. Some of us are financially successful and live in posh neighborhoods in DamErica but can't find that space of joy; always fighting just to be. I don't have to sacrifice creature comforts to gain those things as a person. I deserve every bit of them at my age. Africa can offer and has offered me those qualities and space to fully actualize my life. In Kenya 🇰🇪 , I am loved and I just flow.
Am 60 and am thinking about going to stay n Africa but there’s a lot of on my mind I have the means to stay. But buying houses there will the be a good opportunity for me in my family. Am a female did 25 years of Navy Seal and I don’t regret one day of it . But I have a lot on my mind 😊about going their going to check out some things leaving on the 3 of June.
If you can remove the colonial mind and truly love Black people whilst not seeking monetary gain....you will have no problem in finding soul peace in Africa......

Africa is huge, it's 🎉not only Ghana. You can find other countries in the mother land to fit in.
But the Citizens in those countries are suffering from infrastructure issues, bad roads, poor drainage system, Malaria issues, high price of food, and if you want a nice place you will be paying much higher prices. Worst part of all lack of good paying jobs or lack of jobs.

@Sci-Fi_Fan296 l been on the African Continent 2 years, it's only good for retirees that either have social security income, pension or lots of money in the bank. Because you have to spend good money to live how you living in the USA. It's not worth it if you don't have any income and coming to the Continent for a job to make pennies on the dollar.
Trust me the list is very long I'm just pointing out the obvious things. I'm not saying it doesn't work for you I'm just saying people gonna be shocked coming from western countries to see sum.of the ways the poor have to live here in places with no running water or toilets in a box built structures hidden all around the metro.

You ventured out and walked out in faith. Nothing ventured nothing gained. We will continue to visit Africa but have never considered living there., Far too many are dying young as your wife said. We are still mourning the loss of our beloved 36 year old nephew who was not sick. “Life is tight’ as my husband will always say. Peace and good health are priceless!

I’m 70 finished college raised two children who 1 is doing well the other struggleing…became a single parent due to abuse worse than the didy junk going on..but I got out raised kids been through jobs laid off another job… lived decently but modest because I never made over 30 grand with government job…well now I’m living in a senior living in the hood…been through the losses of my parents lost my mind credit and survival of cancer and other stuff… All I’m asking Yeshua my Christ is for a car a Chevy or Ford will do ….i just won’t to go to the grocery store without Uber…I have never been without a car in my life…you are right I am numb to this situation…I deserve so much better….what happened…what happened…Life happened…this is a hard pill to swallow..you go back to Africa I’ve learned a lot from you

Stop it! He did not do it with malice. He did not have intention to harm. He shared his experiences and he then encouraged others to expand if they feel the same. He did not force his will upon others. He really had a heart to connect with his birthplace and share it with others. So just stop with the rhetoric. Everyone is accountable for their own decisions.

Ive been seeing that frustration in your eyes grow over the past few months YOU want more for Africans than they want for themselves. Im a Foundational Black American I've never had an intrest in going to Africa because Ive always understood that Black Americans who go there are people looking for hope and hope lives around the corner from disappointment.
