This gears of war is hands down the best. Gears of war 2 made great memories. And is a classic. But gears 3 was aggressive, badass, badass skins, characters, it was just amazing. No microtransactions other than special characters and DLC. Fabulous game needs a remaster with all content the same no fucking battlepass.
Gears 5s theme is just pure shit, the game isn't even gears anymore and the funny thing is even epic games wouldn't have even made it remotely close to fortnite if they kept the series
I actually really enjoy the gears 5 theme, the only thing you gotta remember is that is a "new era" the difference is the tone of the game. In this one the tone seems dreadful and sad but with a bit of triumph in it. In gears 5 it's alot more triumphant with less dread. I imagine by the time the 6th one rolls around we'll hear a dreadful theme again

the amount of love i have for this franchise man. i can't put it into words. it's just such an amazing franchise. any gears fan will know how i feel. it's a bit of a shame how it turned out. but at the same time it's amazing. out of all of them/ [gameplay wise] gears 5 is the best. storys amazing too. gears of war 1,2 and 3 have the best main menus out of any game. for anyone who hasn't bought or played gears 5 i strongly recommend it. best game of 2018-2019 by far.
If I had it my way, I’d probably tone down the movement speed, replace Overwatch-style ultimates with a different mechanic entirely, but change nothing else. Vault knifing, melee combos, flashbangs, custom fortification placements, the UIR getting more love in the lore, the SHEER amount of characters and skins to choose from… Going back to Gears 3 would be euphoric, but I can’t deny I’d be missing a lot of these things listed above.
