    We love Puerto Vallarta. Watching you and then you and Martin, have helped us love it even more.
    November 2020, we had 30 people come to a surprise birthday party for my wife Nancy in Nuevo Vallarta. Not including our wedding or the birth of our three daughters, this was literally the best week of our life.
    I always hoped Nancy and I would have been able to meet you and Martin while we were in Vallarta.
    In your new travels and adventures, I pray that the worst day of your future will be no less than the very best day of your past. Thank you for always sharing your lives with us. Blessings.

      @@TouristtoLocal Nancy and I are old enough to be your parents. That said, we have younger and older friends. The common thread is travel. I feel like if you have that in common, then age is never an issue.
      November 14 2020, was Nancy’s belated surprise 60th birthday party. And on the 14th, we had been married for 14,000 days. Since it was such a mile stone, I decided that not only would I surprise Nancy with a birthday party, but also a surprise proposal, to have a ceremony to continue our wedding vows. (SHE SAID YES!) That ceremony will be on July 17, 2022 on our 40th anniversary. Since the proposal occurred in Vallarta, we may have the ceremony there also. However, we may have it in the Caribbean somewhere. We are in the planning stages now as it’s just about a year away. We would be so very honored, if you would attend. It’s an open invitation for you two. Absolutely do not feel like you need to come but it would be so cool if you were in the neighborhood for you to be part of our celebration.
      I know that you two are very busy and have quite an agenda all the time, but if the stars were to align, it would be so cool (for us!)
      I would be happy to stay in touch with you two as the plans become more finalized.
      Currently we are expecting about 40 or 50 people to attend, but it may grow. There would be quite a number of people your age. And then some people our age, about a 50-50 mix. The cool thing is, no one would realize that you were not part of our family because you would fit in so well.
      I hope you don’t feel this is awkward for us to invite you, but you feel like family. We have known you for so long, even though you don’t know us. It’s been pretty much a one way communication... you to all of your subscribers.
      Blessings
      PS: Gifts of any kind are forbidden. And fancy attire will not be allowed. It’s too hot in July 😃.

    what a great video! another tip - I also land up saving up on unnecessary expenses like atm fees etc in Mexico - using apps like ATM Fee Saver - it helps find atms abroad with no fees or lower fees than others along with withdrawal limits etc. worth adding to your list of tricks!

    I’d recommend after an atm withdrawal go inside bank if open and ask them to give you small bills in place of large ones . People will often not have change if you buy something small with a big bill and some will pretend they don’t have it, been it’s been several years since I was in Mexico , but they used to do it in big banks with no problem several years ago.

    One more thing, VERY IMPORTANT.
    Be sure to ask for more days on your stay permit when you encounter the Mexican immigration officer!!! And double check that that have written the correct amount of days you asked for because I don’t know why they are giving less then you ask for and if you have your ticket for a day after the date they have givin you. You will be in great trouble. There is a German tourist that was not aware of this, and got thrown in jail because he was in the country longer that the date on his permit, even if hijos ticket to exit the country had a later date!

    Great video and tips, thanks, Im heading to México in a few months, so I'm trying to get as many tips as possible, before i go lol, I do have one question, I've heard the water can be unsafe to drink, so my question is about brushing your teeth, should I use bottled water to rinse my brush? Or is the tap water ok?

    • @TouristtoLocal
      @TouristtoLocal  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Use bottled water to be safe as your stomach gets used to being in mexico. After a month, I started to just use tap water and was fine!

    • @TouristtoLocal

    • @TouristtoLocal
      @TouristtoLocal  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I studied Spanish as my minor in college, so I did have a background in it HOWEVER I have many friends who live in Mexico who only began learning it once they moved. You'd be surprised by how nice people are and willing to help! If you can, before you move I suggest at least taking a class or two to be familiar with the basics.

      Is hardly to get sick from ice cubes, so is cheaper to get them from the store than to make them at home, so nobody make ice by their self, ice suppliers are well controlled.
