This song is not written by Henry Mancini, it was written by Melissa Manchester (the woman who sings it). But anyhow... I love this song! Wish I could find a good instrumental for it so I can perform it.
Actually IIRC, it IS blues, but it's done in a way that's meant to be kind of a sneaky pun--she says "I'll take off all my blues" (obviously meant to be a metaphor for ridding oneself of sorrow) but goes on to remove articles of clothing that happen to be blue, revealing her showgirl outfit.
I don't like it anymore. the only song that I liked the most and that exceeds this. It's the Tanya Mousekewitz songs from An American Tail '' dreams to deams '' and '' The Girl You Left Behind '' these exceeds this and are what attract me.
