I was hooked and now appreciate all the earlier stuff because of her. She is indeed the best of both worlds when compared to the previous 2 singers who I think were perfect for the times they were there.

Metal is her preferred genre with Nightwish. She sings in at least seven languages. Also, Floor had been singing Symphonic Metal over an hour and there were two more songs she had to sing. The word 'beast' barely fits her. Look up 'Sing Meinen Song' you will hear Floor kill seven or eight songs singing in German only. I've never seen her perform like she did there. You're one of the few who acknowledged the little reach out she does to the crowd at the end. It's exactly how you described it: a "thank you" to the audience for the positive emotional energy. She, Floor Jansen, actually does a reaction to this performance on her TH-cam channel. You can hear that she gets a little emotional about that last note, which isn't in the original version of the song. She actually added that in when she joined the band (she is their 3rd singer.) She added it at one of their earlier rehearsals and the band loved it so much, they kept it in. It's become a pivotal part of the song ever since.

I guess you’re just going to have to keep on going on this NW journey to find out. My favorite is “Ever Dream” live Wacken ‘13. But they have a smorgasbord of songs that will take you out of any bad spot life seems to put you in. GLS is one of the most epic songs in all musical history. She has said Ever Dream is one of the hardest songs to preform. You wanna see some vocal control, check that one out asap. She’s had some amazing training btw. If you really want to know about her, you can dive into the vast amounts of content on her, here on YT. I may not know the musical terminology you do, but Floor and NW changed my life in ways I never knew possible. They made me become a better human being. And for that, they have my loyalty! That last vocal blast is insanely amazing but believe me when I say, it's just a tease of what she can do. Goddes, valkyrie, amazon, now elven princess, whatever you want, she is one in a trillion. Keep digging the Nightwish rabbit hole and you won't be dissapointed.
She is a classically trained and a professional voice coach with at least 20 plus years experience and can do anything from death metal growling to high opera notes and different styles and languages and she is married to the drummer of the band Sabaton.

At this concert very few of the 82,000 had heard Floor Jansen sing with Nightwish as she joined only ten months earlier during their North and South American tour replacing the previous singer and learning the complete setlist in 48 hours ! Every song at this concert written for previous two singers, one operatic (Tarja) and one pop (Anette) and she nails them all and improves most of them. She also has her own You Tube channel where she performs covers of various songs, chats to fans and gives lessons in vocal technique.

'Elegant' is a term I've not before heard used for Floor, but I really liked it. That she is. She is IMHO the best female vocalist on the planet. Strap in because this Nightwish rabbit hole is VERY deep and you don't want to miss any of it.
GLS is one of Tuomas´ masterpieces, really brethtaking. The power of that final note shows the divinity of Floor... 8 seconds without vibration after more than 1 hour singing. Hail to the Greatest Vocalist on Earth!
Original singer, Tarja Turunen from 1996 to 2005 also is classical trained singer. She and Tuomas (founder) were classmates at a school in Finland. In 2005, Tarja was either fired or leave the band on her own because of her husband. This affected Nightwish so that Tuomas put the band on hiatus for nearly 2 years because he went into depression after fans accused him for Tarja leaving the band. In 2007, Nightwish regroup with new singer, Anete Olzon. Anete went from 2007 to late 2012 or early 2013. She left Nightwish. Then current singer, Floor Jansen at 1st hired as touring vocalist for an upcoming tour. On a video, Nightwish were in Western USA for a warmup tour. Floor had to learn all Nightwish songs in 48 hours. This concert in Wacken shows her vocal skills. After this tour ended, Floor and Troy Donockley (instrumentalist and singer since 2007) became full time members of Nightwish. Jukka Nevalainen (drummer) left touring because of sleeping issues, but he still works for Nightwish on day-to-day operations. Kai Hahto (Wintersun) is his replacement drummer. Marko Hietala (Bassist) from 2002 to 2020. He left the band in 2021.

( Freja ) Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish. Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Floor has only been with the band about a half of a year at this point. When Annette left Tuomas Holopainen, the composer and pianist for the band had to find a lead singer. He asked Floor Jansen to learn the entire song set in just a couple of days. She did. Floor on stage with her boots on stand 6'5" tall. She is over 6' tall. She is also married to the drummer of Sabaton. Just some basics about our Danish Valkyrie Goddess that was adopted by a Viking band from Finland.

Yep, classically trained when she was young (only a little bit of opera training iirc), but also rock academy etc. Incredibly versatile voice and sublime control. I think the method she studied and uses is called Complete Vocal Technique. You are in for a treat, and such an adventure, if you drive deeper into Nightwish's catalogue.

Another soul carried away by our Valkyrie goddess, Floor Jansen (pronounced Yan-sen). She is perhaps the best and most versatile female vocalist today. She can sing everything from opera to death growls. Yes, she is tall at 6'2" without heels. I am glad you checked out this magical band. I will never forget the first time I heard this song and this band with Floor as vocalist. My brain was at the same time fried and opened up to a place I hadn’t felt in a long time musically. Everyone in the band is a master at their craft and they work together as a unit like none I’ve ever heard before. Agree with you on Floor being “old elegance “. I think very much the same. She is mesmerizing for sure…saw them this year and her stage presence is unparalleled. Her voice is so pure and powerful live. I love the richness and multiple colors of her voice and how easy she transitions from different placements. Her vibrato is a math nerd like myself’s dream as so pure and equal on either side of the note. Glad you have bandmates with great taste in music 😜.
I'd very much like to try and NOT sound like a rabid fanboy here, but her vocal qualities aside, her stage presence IS unparalleled. She's a very nice lady off stage, a bit reserved and unassuming even, but once she enters the stage, she completely transforms into... I don't even know. Her smile, her facial expressions, her body language are, in my opinion one of a kind. The warmth and charisma and into-the-song-ness she exudes turn her into someone so stunningly beautiful, it's ridiculous. This'll sound really corny, but she becomes the embodiment of the respective song she's singing, and she even manages to look and feel completely different, depending on the song. I've never seen this before with anybody else. At least not like this.

What you have just witnessed was the Valkyrie Goddess, all I had to hear this was once, I been hooked ever since. Her name is Floor Jansen, she was operatically trained, also many other forms of voice training. She can sing any genre she chooses, but is a Metal Queen at heart. The thing that always amazes me about this performance is that this song came 1 hour into their set. She had already been rocking for an hour and still delivered this!
When she releases the energy/moment with her palm down after she is done singing, she is returning it. When she walked out stage she took the energy/moment with her palm up, fingers pulling it in before starting to sing. It feels like an unspoken promise that if you give her your attention/time she will give back a performance worthy of your time.

What I love about this band is that they don't show off for showing-off sake. They do what the song needs. Each and every single one of them are world class artists on their chosen weapon, but they live in the service of their art, and to me that's beautiful. Take Emppu's guitar solo for example; the man can shred with the best of them but that's not what this song needed. It needed something more subtle and melodic, just repeating the vocal line with some emotion injected into it, so that's what Tuomas wrote and that's what Emppu plays.

The name of the genre they generally belong to is Symphonic Metal but their discography is EXTREMELY varied. The "Symphonic" backing tracks of their music is composed in the majority by Tuomas and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. This was the 13th song in this particular set, Floor is belting notes like that the entire set. Nighwish are almost always better experienced with LIVE versions of their songs if at all possible. Most new reactors are better off sticking with the Wacken 2013 set to begin with as it offers a taste of a lot of what Nightwish has to offer, they have multiple concerts though all of which are superb. Some suggestions for more songs for you to continue your journey would be Storytime, Ever Dream, Romanticide, Ghost River, I Wish I had an Angel, Song of Myself, Dark Chest of Wonders, I Want My Tears Back and Amaranth all from Wacken 2013 (pronounced Vacken). Saying that, anything from Wacken 2013 is golden really to start, there's a reason why that set is pretty legendary at this point, 82,000 people were in attendance. Beware of some messed up slowed down versions of the Wacken 2013 songs as they can take the energy right out of the performances, just check the comments on them and I'm sure someone will mention if it's a slowed down version. Your choice obviously but I'd avoid Poet and the Pendulum and The Greatest Show on Earth for now until you are more familiar with the band and it's history, they will make a lot more sense and be more enjoyable for you that way. Prepare for the Nightwish army to arrive and enjoy your Nightwish journey, I know I did!😎🤘

I watched Floor's music videos and live performances for her solo singles which were released this year - first one released in March was "Fire" and second one in May was "Storm". Gabriel will walk you thru the most incredible moments of you life, you have no choice but to become a part of the NightWish ARMY. This band is fantastic, you will not hear a mistake with every song. You will never be the same again. Floor is the best singer I have enjoyed in my 70 years.
That bow and then her projecting the forecoming applause at the end to their drummer reveals enough of what kind of being she is... It had been the antepenultimate song of the concert at the penultimate concert of their 2012/13 Imaginerium World Tour. I didn't know what to expect when I clicked on the Wacken 2013 full concert stream for the first time in 2015, my introduction to Nightwish with lead vocalist Floor Jansen. IMO Wacken 2013 is amongst the very best (rock) concerts ever recorded live until today. When the question what they could have done better needs to be answered by a shrug of the shoulders.

I recommend Storytime or Everdream, from the same show, but there are so many good, and different, songs from them. Floor's voice and stage presence are unreal. She's mesmerizing. You nailed it too - she is really appreciative of the crowd. Saw them for the first time in NYC back in May. It feels like she is there for you, and if she asks you to cheer, or clap or sing, you do. You can't help it. She's so - I want to say in control, but that's not the right way to put it - you can't help but support her, and she thanks the crowd for it and the whole band is just better live than in studio. They just love to be on stage. You can just feel that energy - even from a YT video of them live. It was the best live show I have ever seen.

I've watched this reaction many times.......the expressions on your face are so awesome ! (and your comment too). This is how an epic performance should be experienced. I've seen some other reactions from so called experts (...) and cannot understand how they can sit there without any emotion. I feel it every time, now matter how often I have heard it by now......I lost count !
Bear in mind that this epic song sits right at the end of their set. The music is intense for the whole concert with extremely demanding vocals throughout, yet Floor delivers this song like it was the first of the night. There is simply no better female vocalist operating in this genre anywhere on the planet. You should check out Floor Jansen on TH-cam specifically. Her ability to sing pretty much any genre of music to absolute technical perfection is astonishing. You should know that she also suffers from hypersensitivity. The response of the crowd when she hit that note at the end would have coursed through her body like an electric shock. Her reach out of thanks was heartfelt and intensely emotional for her.
Such a great GLS reaction! So much to say but I'll focus on the thing that stood out to me which is the "interlude" part. I mean, this has to be the best reaction to that section I've seen so far. You're the only one for instance, who specifically commented on the iconic image of the abandoned mic stand. In the words of French writer Paul Valéry, "the power of absence". And then you proceeded to talk us through your experience like you were doing a live radio broadcast. That was just gorgeous! Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band! This song was performed in Wacken Open Air in 2013, together with Floor Jansen [pronounced Yansen], the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K audience.
About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners.
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland...
.. Tuomas Holopainen [pronounced Tu-oh-mas], the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. Then very recently (May 2021) Jukka Koskinen [pronounced Yukka] became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for the Human :II: Nature tour - and very recently, the band announced he became a permanent member] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen [pronounced Yukka] is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition.
Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen [pronounced Tarr-ya] (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her.
There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps.

Following the success of Beste Zangers show, Floor performed a series of solo concerts in the Netherlands in early 2020 with songs from her entire career (After Forever, Revamp, Northward, Nightwish, Beste Zangers) following that the last and the largest concert, at AFAS Amsterdam, to be professionally recorded and broadcast online, with the support of a crowdfunding campaign. After several rescheduling, due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the concert took place at the beginning of September 2021 in 3 consecutive days. I was hooked and now appreciate all the earlier stuff because of her. I tell you man, As soon as I heard Floor’s voice for the first time in my life, I literally sobbed for 10 minutes. I had a very tough decade and no emotion in my life. Not a single tear.. Then Nightwish changed it all and I feel once again.

6'4" Dutch Coloratura Soprano Floor Jansen. Valkyrie Goddess of Symphonic Metal. She has had Opera Rock and Metal training. Metal is her preferred genre with Nightwish. She sings in at least seven languages.
Also, Floor had been singing Symphonic Metal over an hour and there were two more songs she had to sing. The word 'beast' barely fits her.
Look up 'Sing Meinen Song' you will hear Floor kill seven or eight songs singing in German only. I've never seen her perform like she did there. Those people were almost in faint mode. She brought her own band too.

You're one of the few who acknowledged the little reach out she does to the crowd at the end. It's exactly how you described it: a "thank you" to the audience for the positive emotional energy. She, Floor Jansen, actually does a reaction to this performance on her TH-cam channel. You can hear that she gets a little emotional about that last note, which isn't in the original version of the song. She actually added that in when she joined the band (she is their 3rd singer.) She added it at one of their earlier rehearsals and the band loved it so much, they kept it in. It's become a pivotal part of the song ever since.

Ahh hello there! You’ve stumbled on Floor Jansen, and her symphonic metal brothers in Nightwish! Welcome to the FLOORED club! Lol. If you allow them into your heart, magical things happen! I guess you’re just going to have to keep on going on this NW journey to find out. My favorite is “Ever Dream” live Wacken ‘13. But they have a smorgasbord of songs that will take you out of any bad spot life seems to put you in. GLS is one of the most epic songs in all musical history. She has said Ever Dream is one of the hardest songs to preform. You wanna see some vocal control, check that one out asap. She’s had some amazing training btw. If you really want to know about her, you can dive into the vast amounts of content on her, here on YT. I may not know the musical terminology you do, but Floor and NW changed my life in ways I never knew possible. They made me become a better human being. And for that, they have my loyalty!

At this concert very few of the 82,000 had heard Floor Jansen sing with Nightwish as she joined only ten months earlier during their North and South American tour replacing the previous singer and learning the complete setlist in 48 hours ! Every song at this concert written for previous two singers, one operatic (Tarja) and one pop (Anette) and she nails them all and improves most of them. She also has her own You Tube channel where she performs covers of various songs, chats to fans and gives lessons in vocal technique.

Original singer, Tarja Turunen from 1996 to 2005 also is classical trained singer. She and Tuomas (founder) were classmates at a school in Finland. In 2005, Tarja was either fired or leave the band on her own because of her husband. This affected Nightwish so that Tuomas put the band on hiatus for nearly 2 years because he went into depression after fans accused him for Tarja leaving the band. In 2007, Nightwish regroup with new singer, Anete Olzon. Anete went from 2007 to late 2012 or early 2013. She left Nightwish. Then current singer, Floor Jansen at 1st hired as touring vocalist for an upcoming tour. On a video, Nightwish were in Western USA for a warmup tour. Floor had to learn all Nightwish songs in 48 hours. This concert in Wacken shows her vocal skills. After this tour ended, Floor and Troy Donockley (instrumentalist and singer since 2007) became full time members of Nightwish. Jukka Nevalainen (drummer) left touring because of sleeping issues, but he still works for Nightwish on day-to-day operations. Kai Hahto (Wintersun) is his replacement drummer. Marko Hietala (Bassist) from 2002 to 2020. He left the band in 2021.

She is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. Together they have a daughter. ( Freja )
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish.
Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016.
From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020.

Floor has only been with the band about a half of a year at this point. When Annette left Tuomas Holopainen, the composer and pianist for the band had to find a lead singer. He asked Floor Jansen to learn the entire song set in just a couple of days. She did. Floor on stage with her boots on stand 6'5" tall. She is over 6' tall. She is also married to the drummer of Sabaton. Just some basics about our Danish Valkyrie Goddess that was adopted by a Viking band from Finland.

Yep, classically trained when she was young (only a little bit of opera training iirc), but also rock academy etc. Incredibly versatile voice and sublime control. I think the method she studied and uses is called Complete Vocal Technique.
You are in for a treat, and such an adventure, if you drive deeper into Nightwish's catalogue.

I will never forget the first time I heard this song and this band with Floor as vocalist. My brain was at the same time fried and opened up to a place I hadn’t felt in a long time musically. Everyone in the band is a master at their craft and they work together as a unit like none I’ve ever heard before. Agree with you on Floor being “old elegance “. I think very much the same. She is mesmerizing for sure…saw them this year and her stage presence is unparalleled. Her voice is so pure and powerful live. I love the richness and multiple colors of her voice and how easy she transitions from different placements. Her vibrato is a math nerd like myself’s dream as so pure and equal on either side of the note. Glad you have bandmates with great taste in music 😜.
I'd very much like to try and NOT sound like a rabid fanboy here, but her vocal qualities aside, her stage presence IS unparalleled. She's a very nice lady off stage, a bit reserved and unassuming even, but once she enters the stage, she completely transforms into... I don't even know. Her smile, her facial expressions, her body language are, in my opinion one of a kind. The warmth and charisma and into-the-song-ness she exudes turn her into someone so stunningly beautiful, it's ridiculous. This'll sound really corny, but she becomes the embodiment of the respective song she's singing, and she even manages to look and feel completely different, depending on the song. I've never seen this before with anybody else. At least not like this.

What you have just witnessed was the Valkyrie Goddess, all I had to hear this was once, I been hooked ever since. Her name is Floor Jansen, she was operatically trained, also many other forms of voice training. She can sing any genre she chooses, but is a Metal Queen at heart. When she releases the energy/moment with her palm down after she is done singing, she is returning it. When she walked out stage she took the energy/moment with her palm up, fingers pulling it in before starting to sing.

What I love about this band is that they don't show off for showing-off sake. They do what the song needs. Each and every single one of them are world class artists on their chosen weapon, but they live in the service of their art, and to me that's beautiful. Take Emppu's guitar solo for example; the man can shred with the best of them but that's not what this song needed. It needed something more subtle and melodic, just repeating the vocal line with some emotion injected into it, so that's what Tuomas wrote and that's what Emppu plays.

Nightwish is a glorious rabbit hole of awesome, with world class song-writing, musicianship and arguably (or unarguably to most who've heard her enough😉) the best and most versatile female vocalist alive today (maybe ever), the Valkyrie Queen of metal herself Floor Jansen (pronounced Yansen). Floor is a classically trained soprano and has a vocal range of more than 3 octaves (C3 to F6+).
Floor is the third female vocalist that Nightwish have had (and my personal favourite), she was only with them on tour for 10 months at this point and officially joined the band in 2013, she is still with them today.

Floor herself is Dutch and is another glorious goldmine of awesome as she has a lot of non-Nightwish related stuff (including 2 other bands, After Forever & ReVamp) and a recently launched solo career that she has been involved that are all pretty amazing as well, she is also an accomplished song writer herself. She is also an absolutely lovely, funny, smart and grounded person (in fact all the band members are exceedingly down to earth individuals). She has her own channel here on TH-cam where she has posted covers of songs as well as her solo stuff.
The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter/composer and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen.
The name of the genre they generally belong to is Symphonic Metal but their discography is EXTREMELY varied.
The "Symphonic" backing tracks of their music is composed in the majority by Tuomas and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
This was the 13th song in this particular set, Floor is belting notes like that the entire set.
Nighwish are almost always better experienced with LIVE versions of their songs if at all possible.
Most new reactors are better off sticking with the Wacken 2013 set to begin with as it offers a taste of a lot of what Nightwish has to offer, they have multiple concerts though all of which are superb.
Some suggestions for more songs for you to continue your journey would be Storytime, Ever Dream, Romanticide, Ghost River, I Wish I had an Angel, Song of Myself, Dark Chest of Wonders, I Want My Tears Back and Amaranth all from Wacken 2013 (pronounced Vacken).
Saying that, anything from Wacken 2013 is golden really to start, there's a reason why that set is pretty legendary at this point, 82,000 people were in attendance.
Beware of some messed up slowed down versions of the Wacken 2013 songs as they can take the energy right out of the performances, just check the comments on them and I'm sure someone will mention if it's a slowed down version.
Your choice obviously but I'd avoid Poet and the Pendulum and The Greatest Show on Earth for now until you are more familiar with the band and it's history, they will make a lot more sense and be more enjoyable for you that way.

This is a live band, live is better than studio versions. Once again, sounds crazy, but it's true. I recommend starting at the beginning of this concert and reacting to every song. What a powerful and mesmerizing performance! I absolutely agree that Floor has this other worldly aura! She started singing with a band at the tender age of 16! I watched Floor's music videos and live performances for her solo singles which were released this year - first one released in March was "Fire" and second one in May was "Storm". I’ve listened to this over and over since first hearing it, and her vocal finish still brings tears every time. Absolutely spectacular performance by her and the whole band.

It had been the antepenultimate song of the concert at the penultimate concert of their 2012/13 Imaginerium World Tour. I didn't know what to expect when I clicked on the Wacken 2013 full concert stream for the first time in 2015, my introduction to Nightwish with lead vocalist Floor Jansen. IMO Wacken 2013 is amongst the very best (rock) concerts ever recorded live until today. When the question what they could have done better needs to be answered by a shrug of the shoulders.

Welcome to Nightwish! Hope you react to some more. They'll continue to surprise and amaze you! I recommend Storytime or Everdream, from the same show, but there are so many good, and different, songs from them. Floor's voice and stage presence are unreal. She's mesmerizing. You nailed it too - she is really appreciative of the crowd. Saw them for the first time in NYC back in May. It feels like she is there for you, and if she asks you to cheer, or clap or sing, you do. You can't help it. She's so - I want to say in control, but that's not the right way to put it - you can't help but support her, and she thanks the crowd for it and the whole band is just better live than in studio. They just love to be on stage. You can just feel that energy - even from a YT video of them live. It was the best live show I have ever seen.

She is by far one of the greatest singers out there. To go from operatic to rock to grunge voice is amazing! Listening to you explain the mechanics of it all is very cool! I’m a simultaneous, multi instrumentalist (bass, keys and vocals) and my voice kinda sucks. Do you do vocal lessons?
Welcome to the most talented, versatile female vocalist the planet has to offer.. the more you go down this rabbit hole south is I hope you will see for your self. Everything from full on metal growls to full on opera no genre she can't sing enjoy. ROCK ON!

I've watched this reaction many times.......the expressions on your face are so awesome ! (and your comment too). This is how an epic performance should be experienced. I've seen some other reactions from so called experts (...) and cannot understand how they can sit there without any emotion. I feel it every time, now matter how often I have heard it by now......I lost count !

Bear in mind that this epic song sits right at the end of their set. The music is intense for the whole concert with extremely demanding vocals throughout, yet Floor delivers this song like it was the first of the night. There is simply no better female vocalist operating in this genre anywhere on the planet. You should check out Floor Jansen on TH-cam specifically. Her ability to sing pretty much any genre of music to absolute technical perfection is astonishing. You should know that she also suffers from hypersensitivity. The response of the crowd when she hit that note at the end would have coursed through her body like an electric shock. Her reach out of thanks was heartfelt and intensely emotional for her.
Such a great GLS reaction! So much to say but I'll focus on the thing that stood out to me which is the "interlude" part. I mean, this has to be the best reaction to that section I've seen so far. You're the only one for instance, who specifically commented on the iconic image of the abandoned mic stand. In the words of French writer Paul Valéry, "the power of absence".
And then you proceeded to talk us through your experience like you were doing a live radio broadcast. That was just gorgeous!
