I appreciate that you take the time to mention the level of support you get from each pattern/pattern company. It is so helpful to have high support patterns when you are first sewing! Two thoughts…first, you could do a vlog on your top 5 pattern companies for levels of support, including how you use tutorials/sew alongs (do you literally watch them as you go, watch them ahead, only watch key parts…) I rarely use them 🤷♀️ I usually just use them for a tricky bit, but not often and I am curious how others do. Another idea is to create your own fun rating system for how helpful the pattern was in guiding your sewing. So as you talk about a pattern, you could might give Helen’s Closet a 5 flamingo rating for sewing support. And a Fibremood pattern might be a 3 flamingo. Just an idea ☺️ while the ideas are rolling…another idea tthat came to me to enhance your backdrop might be to paint your wooden drawers box the same green as the wall (leftover paint maybe?) “Everyone needs a friend” Melissa Murrell the TH-cam stylist always says..it would be an easy way to simplify the look of your backdrop and pull the colours together ☺️ just an idea! I love how you changed your title page to match your color scheme ☺️ I also love your flowery dress hack! I can totally relate with the head scratching! Patterns are pricey and mixing a few is not beyond our ability…but it sure adds a layer of challenge! I find that it works better when I attempt those when I have a large sewing window as opposed to the after work sewing. But the result is so satisfying! I love your Maggieport Dress!! I’ve not tried flute sleeves, and they look amazing on your dress! So clever! I am working on a wearable toile for the Style Arc Porter Dress with bow closures…those bows are quite the thing these days! Now that my report cards are done and dusted, I can apply a little more focus to my sewing ☺️ Have a great week!

I really like the flutter sleeves, it wasn’t something I tried beforehand but I loved them on the magnolia . I’m totally with you on chunks of time. I love the trousers. Do you find them bulky in the front at all. It's 6:am here, I've been up since 5:00 am, had my breakfast and just watching some sewing vlogs. I'm going to finish my pot of tea, then cut out some pajamas. I'm going to a celebration of life for a co-worker's father later today. A sad event, but hopefully it won't rain. Then come home, walk the dogs, hopefully some pj sewing before making supper. Tomorrow is mending and alterations for some friends and family. I'm going to take a look at that trouser pattern right now!

My daughter, also Rachel (spelled differently, obviously), just texted me with a request for a sewing project complete with pictures of a coat a young TT influencer made using a twin sized quilt. All of the quilts were of Disney movies, like "Nightmare Before Christmas," btw. I told her she'd have to buy all the supplies, so she looked up the girl's info and no pattern was listed, so she was bummed about that. But now I've just watched your video and forgot about the different iterations of that Tamarack pattern which looks just like what she wants. Yay! Love all your stuff and especially the fact that you use seam tape (or twill) instead of facings. I've been sewing for almost 60 years and I've never liked facings either and have many times used strips of the fabric instead (because there's always plenty of scraps lying around). Thank you for another wonderful, and instructional vlog!

Your trousers are just lovely. I am not surprised you are so pleased with them. I have a similar pattern I use for trousers that I think is a Style Arc one but I have adapted it to suit me quite a bit. I live in linen trousers in the summer, so I know where you are coming from! I also love your mash-up dress, that fabric is stunning and you were very brave pulling all those elements together!

I wonder if maybe the eye of the needle you’re using is too small so the thread is breaking when going fast? I’ve been having issues with cotton thread on my Juki lately and haven’t had time to troubleshoot so went back to using poly thread for my quilting.

Everyone says I must try making trousers and they think they are complicated to make, they really aren't are they and so quick to sew up! Love the trousers. In relation to thread if you have had it for a while it can degrade over time . I keep threads in lock and lock containers. ❤
