A beautiful and informative video! In 2016, I flew into Olbia and had to show my passport, even though Italy was included in the Shenghen zone. A mirror on the wall said “Sardinia is not Italy“. Today, Sardinia is included in the Shenghen zone, but as you correctly pointed out, it’s an autonomous region of Italy. I will be visiting the island again in November 2024 to look for a potential site for my home. I believe it is a safehaven From EU political overreach that beholds wonderful beauty.
