I recently read Marty's book. The part where he talks about how Steve was on the verge of tears when Martin first told him how serious Nancy's condition was still stuns me.

I can't believe I was driven to laugh and to cry in such a short time, by the same person. This is what I hope we all are able to appreciate in life - true friendships. I so wish these two would tour again, so I can experience the pleasure of their company.

There was an actual SNL skit called Jew, not a Jew. Tom Hanks was the host and played the gme show host. I think three of the choices were Anne Bancroft, Penny Marshall, and Ed Koch.

Martin Short has gotten better with age. I simply didn't like him when he was young. There's something about longevity that - if you last - makes you better as time goes by.
