I got my hands on an Innova starter set for disc golf and took it out to the course for some testing! If you've been following the channel for a while now, you know I am not a big Innova fan. So if I can shoot 3 under par through 9 holes I will be giving this Innova Starter Set away to one of you lucky disc golfers!

As a starter when I got these discs they were actually really nice to throw. They go really straight and are all pretty glidy which makes you almost always feel good after a throw.
One great thing about the Innova starter set. It encourages you to upgrade ASAP.

Any recommendations on what weight to choose when buying disc's? Is there a weight that's better for certain disc's? Thanks for any information. Fyi I'm looking to add a couple mid-range disc's and putters. Just starting out. I have played twice and lost two disc of the 3 starter innova set I bought. 😂
The mold selection is solid, but 150g is a killer
I actually kinda liked the shark it was alright specially if it came in a more stable plastic 💯 but wasn’t a fan of the hand feel of them. They felt fake 😅
Shark in star plastic is a great disc. Basically throws like a slightly beat in roc. They need to be like 170+g though
i throw mainly innova and discmania, only exception is the prodigy a2. innova makes some fire discs
I won’t argue with ya! They definitely know how to make good discs 💯 but I’m just not a fan of how they conduct their business so I don’t bag any of their discs
@discgolfjustice out of curiosity, what are you referring to? Outside of their discs' performances I know nothing about them (outside of them pretty much starting disc golf as a sport and them coming up with the number system.)

Typically, the starter sets are extremely light, that’s why everything is flippy. It was my kids first set though!
Ya I didn’t notice until today that all of them were in the 145-150g range 😂😂
What’s sad is the newer throwers have no touch. If you took a little off the speed of the throw and actually hyzered the 145g discs they would fly great. We as disc throwers should have body control. Might do you well to learn to throw those. A really under stable disc is really versatile. Let it go on a 90 degree angle through a tight gap and have it flip up and sit. A beautiful throw that you don’t see anymore.
I dont bag any innova. not that i have anything against the brand but I really havent been drawn to any of their discs. enjoyed my mako 3 but it just doesnt beat out anything in my bag.

The Starter Set is great for beginners but intermediate and higher power players would do better with max weight versions of these discs, with the Shark and Leopard in Star plastic. You'd have a much better experience than with the 150-class base plastic options. 🙂

I still bag a 177g dx wraith believe it or not. I use it for extreme hyzer flips and massive turnovers. Innova isn't all trash. Just mostly trash 😂

MVP/Axiom starter set is fire. Most others suck.
Maybe I’ll have to do a starter set battle between all the brands

When I 1st started playing disc golf a little over a year now. That midrange was my go to and reliable on both throwing styles.
My current midrange is the eric oakley pathfinder disc with a new a whole new bag and disc.
I slick kinda liked the shark as well 💯
The problem with the Innova starter set is the weight. I have all three that I bought separately in 175 ish weights but got a friend a starter set and was shocked! Great discs if gotten on a good weight but the starter set is crap.
Ya I reckon if the discs were max weight they’d be half decent 💯
The Innova Starter set sucks! I found the Prodigy Ace Line Starter Set a better bang for the buck. I recently picked up two sets for $14.99 a piece on Amazon. They were 50% off at the time. You get to select the weight range you desire in the set (140, 150, 160, 170g).

Get a star roadrunner star wraith star rock and a KC aviar. Give the discs a real try. And give Innova a little respect. Everything you touch evolved from one man’s design.
The Innova Starter set sucks --But that was fun to watch. The set got me started though, so mission accomplished. I Like a lot of their other stuff, why no love?

I just double checked with the boss and it turns out I can give it away 🤙🏽😂 but no I haven’t seen that one I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled!
The Innova starter set sucks! I hit the doc shark in a tree ONE time and it there was a big dent on the rim 😞
the Innova starter set sucks - the light weight and the discs getting dinged up make them squirrely pretty fast. do have a fond memories of my first s-curve flights with the Leopard though!
