About This Video:
Winter camping one night in severe frost and storm. I make a shelter from a tent poncho, make a long fire, and cook delicious food on the fire.
All the wood I collect is dead trees.
To avoid falling into a fire at night, I reinforce the sleeping place.
The lower branches of the spruce die off and slow down the growth of the tree. By cutting these branches I help the tree grow big and healthy.
The spruce branches prevent the skins from getting wet from the snow.
During the day it started getting warmer and windier.
Most of the snow was blown off the trees. A large piece of snow fell on the awning and one of its hinges burst. I had to secure the awning again.
While I was preparing logs for the long fire, a strong storm came, the weather deteriorated, it became very cold, the wind rose, and the temperature began to drop quickly.
As night approached, there was a lull - the trees were crackling from the cold.
The night was without wind, the smoke from the fire rose vertically.
The fire burned all night, it was warm.
In the morning it started to warm up again.
Breakfast was bacon and bread, which I made with flour and water.
Thank you for watching.
When ppl need to survive just do it. No time to long think & throw fear out the door.
We watch, we learn, we appreciate.
Thank you for sharing.
just pure heaven , no people no noise no internet , just nature . love it
Yep, excellent ❄️🌲😎
Great video of how you can make a shelter out of anything. The peace and tranquility is relaxing for sure. I watch your videos with a cup of coffee and look fwd to seeing the next one! Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA.
Still gotta film the edits... it's not all relaxation

The long fire, the best way to survive the cold.
Did anyone else think the taco style fire looked good while he was making it? That was truly Art.
Such a calming experience.
I've camped in the UK in sub zero conditions but -31 deg is off the charts. Total respect to you sir !🥶👍
😎🙌
So have i, Scotland, in a tent, in September...felt like i was being mummified.... i live in Alberta,Canada now. Give me crisp brutal -55 over sub zero in Scotland anyday...
I can smell the forest from here...and sweet nostalgia floods in upon hearing the wind blow distantly through the giant trees and everything cushioned in a thick blanket of snow at times so deafening. Reminds me of my childhood in Europe... Thank you...
well said
There is a pure beauty to camping like this. Some of my best memories in my younger days was as an arctic instructor with the Marine Corps training in environments just like this. Thanks for sharing!
wish you wouldve frozen
Loved it so much I’m watching for a second time! I really like the fire logs, nice, I’ll be trying that next time winter camping!
Hello 🤝 my friend. Tough camping in this cold weather. You are a true survivor. I was already cold at -12 degrees below zero and could barely make it through the night
Amazing?.. 🥶🥶🥳🥳👍
Asbjorn, thanks for another great video. Those forests are wonderful! Peace in its purest form.
So much snow…just love it 🥹
😎
Amazing nature great winter camping
Outstanding overnight trip. The long fire was just perfect for your stay. Nicely done!
camping in -31°c.. unbelievable🥶
Inspirational and fascinating from the Great Man Berg! Good to see your wholesome meal on the shovel table. You make it all look so easy. Wow!
Fantastic
I've never seen a fire built this way and I love the idea! It seems so much more efficient; especially for winter camping. Great content! 😊❤
However when the wind shifts, you will definitely get smoke inhalation. This is why most don't do this type.
Nice Storm

I'm glad you brought a sleeping bag this time! I always think it's so extreme when you only have the pelt.

I've been looking for an idea on how to have the fire on all night and this video is the final answer, thank you so much!
Mega Geil,das so überhaupt funktioniert.😊
Another excellent trip.
I know your experience in the planning makes for a successful outing.
Still amazes me the small amount of equipment you needed to survive a night in the cold. You eat well and have hot drinks.
Thank again for sharing.
Be well.
Love it when you dream about sea😂

Wow, what a NICE place to camp! I have been getting out in the cold, lately. Just snowed and I wish I could have filmed it. Some of my camping videos are...."stealth camping" but in my area, you do what you gotta do - lol. Just spent the night hammock camping (-4c) and trying out a new foldable wood stove. It worked well, but doesn't compare to a primitive style fire. The dakota fire pit is a good option, when in the right areas. I loved the scenery of this video!
I seriously need to try ponch camping, again. NO IDEA where my old huge poncho disappeared to, so it's been a while. I camped a few times using a small, rolled up painters tarp. Pretty much fit in my pocket. Wasn't too bad but you know how it is - lol. I am loving this channel.
Get a new poncho and go on an adventure 😉🌲
This video is 10/10
Thanks 😊

I love it ❤
Weldon great adventure ❤
You No1!
Loved the tropical fish in the middle ;-)
😉
Maybe one day you can make a "making of"?
I think with all that camera-positioning and stuff you actually need double the time as if you only craft your buildings. I am curious about the process.
Oh, and another question:
Do you leave your buildings after you made them? For wanderers to use if they find them after you left?
Now thats a 🔥!! No need to wake up to stoke that
👋
One of the best out there making it look easy! We’ve been getting those temps with -40C windchills lately, much respect. What species of trees did you use for the fire? Looks like spruce, but maybe pine? Impressive how long the fire lasted. Prefer this over two logs stacked or the Siberia firelay. Less fiddling, plenty of fuel … as long as the wind doesn’t change direction! 💨💨💨
It's so awesome to see you, btw. 🤗 glad you're OK 🤗
Thanks for another video! You are the Best ! Greetings from Spain
You are welcome! Enjoy 😉
Thanks!
Thanks for your support! I really appreciate that :)
Enjoy 😍❤
Almost a controlled Forrest fire! Lol!😊
Asbjorm , NO Gloves or face covered - you truly are an Arctic man. YIKES 17 degrees here today and with my asthma - can barely breath outside. Happy to see new adventures with you.
My thoughts exactly. Finger tips exposed for extended periods of time. Lack of face covering. Could potentially result in severe cases of frost bite. At a minimum, contact gloves, ears and nose covered especially in -31.
Harika
Teşekkür ederim
Thật tuyệt vời
Cảm ơn :)
