- PP Bliss was one of the great hymn writers of the mid 19th century. This video discusses his life and his death in the Ashtabula train disaster of 1876. It is important that we remember these old hymns. Contemporary music lacks the depth and value of music like that of Bliss.

As a new baptist, I've been curious about our history and I am eternally grateful that you have started this channel!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Brother Bill!
Thank you for the story of Mr Bliss! I do love My Redeemer! Our churches need to play these hymns!!
This is great, glory to God thanks brother
I am learning some new hymns! Thank you, Brother Bill.
Love the old hymns. So sad they both died tragically.
Wish i liked piano music. I play guitar, banjo, mandolin, dobro. We had a piano growing up my sister struggled to play . For some reason it just sounds like pounding on strings as it actually is and a perfect clear tone does not come out of it like the plucking of a string. Not putting down piano it's just the way i hear it.
