    An awesome budget friendly knife in CTS-BD1 steel from Spyderco's budget Byrd line.

    Really like my Raven 2 for sure! The Byrd line was my introduction to Spyderco! Thanks for sharing Peter!!

    Agreed! One of my favorite users, it is in the "if i lose it, i will immediately buy a replacement" category.

    Mine been great, especially back when it was 32$ when I picked it up. Still not a bad deal at 53$ currently. Much better choice than the Tenacious for a few $ more.

      Yeah, the Byrd line, or most of them, make me wonder who would opt for anything in the Tenacious line... which seems like Byrd materials for Spyderco prices. I'd rather pick one of the more economical Byrds or save up for a lightweight Spydie. That said, a few Byrd models have an odd mix of fancier handles with mediocre blade steels that venture out of budget territory... Byrd's original home turf. This Raven though... I mean the BD1 beats the usual 8CR13MoV, plus G10 scales and a nice design. But with the pricing in Canada at least, I think I'd be in the "save up for a Spydie" camp... much as I like how the Raven looks!

    Had the same thought myself w/ the Manix. For some reason lock bar/liner lock placement DRIVES ME INSANE I have a couple that are past where I'd like them butI still like the knives, It makes my nuts thinking do I put them away in a box for safety reasons or keep using them or just scream till I get a sore throat. And thx for showing yours, maybe I will dig mine out.

    2:06 similar story with the Spyderco Dragonfly vs Byrd Robin 2 methinks ... I do have some regrets over choosing the Crow over the Raven but I really wouldn't trade my Manix for anything (other than maybe a Shaman😝)

    Seems like a good serious knife. I like the blade and the comparison.

    Just curious. Did the Raven 2 come with a sharpening choil or did you have to add it?

    So...here is the thing. If the lock bar moves over to 100%, and it doesn’t change the action...why get a new knife? What is the problem with a worn lock bar...where is it going to go?

    • @ATherapeuticEdge
      @ATherapeuticEdge  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My experience has been that once the lockbar moves that far it's journey to the show side accelerates, and then things like lock rock start to show up. Also, it just sorta bugs me.

      A Therapeutic Edge...Ok...I get that it bugs you, I get that, but I still don’t get how it would effect the operations of the knife. It is still locked, and I can’t see where it might get in the way of how the knife functions. Am I still wrong? Just asking for a friend...lol.

      @@mickkeim4142 once it runs out of room to travel the bar can either start getting stuck over at the lock side, but more often it wears short and lock rock starts. Now for this knife to get there may take another 2 years or more. It was just something I noticed in the review and commented on.

      A Therapeutic Edge ...thanks for responding. I have a couple knives that are get close to that 100%. That splains it a little better. I imagine that’s why it is important to have a hardened lock steel as it might wear out faster than the blade itself. Thanks...
