Awesome update from Maruti Suzuki. If they get 4star safety rating, it would be an added advantage. And Sound system is from Arkamys.
rear sensor at corner are also lowered for detecting shorter items, earlier it was combatively above. Maruti Suzuki listen to customer

Arkamys is a sound optimisation technology and not a sound system OEM. Baleno always had good speakers.
The new Baleno looks stunning and the road presence looks amazing as well. What is disappointing is that the CVT has been replaced by AGS ..which in my opinion is inferior when compared with CVT or a traditional torque converter. I had a terrible experience with Celerio AMT and finally had to discard the car and go in for a Hyundai i10 AT. Maruti should rething it's decision to introduce AGS on Baleno when it has categorised Baleno as a premium hatch back.

Great detailed review. One nitpick, the music system is not generic but it is Arkamys Music System but only in top variant. Its the same which comes in i20 sportz as well and sounds pretty close to Bose.
Arkamys is not that great.. No punch in bass.. I checked it today at showroom. Will need to change aftermarket

There is a huge gap when a car get 5 star and another get 0 star. We have a vitara brezza which is 4 star rated at home and believe me the built quality of brezza is very different from those dezire and baleno. I have driven altroz you will feel strength even while closing door. High-speed and cornering stability are unmatched BTW I am not a hater of any company but I am a hater of unsafe car.
A really good update given by Maruti Suzuki even tata should now think about altroz next generation and even hyundai should think of it!

If the seats are not ventilated then fabric seats makes more sense from a comfort point of view… however there’s always the option of leather covers.
Since it has 6 airbags ( airbags in seats as well), it is not advisable to put seat covers

If it scores 4star safety rating... RIP Tata. Tata cars are crap selling only because of safety.they cant compete with maruti engine . Now new features like infotainment screen, HUD etc makes it more desirable than altroz
I20 is expensive because it deserves.
Refinement is at next level, more than new Baleno. Turbo and NA engines are awesome. Paint quality is much better. Steering just like amul butter.

2020 altroz launches shows what a premium hatchback needs . 2021- i20 sir yes sir we agree and made a major change and exceeded the benchmark. 2022 - Baleno update launches with all bells and whistles . But but but i20 still has the crown

Great car using it from past 2 weeks but there are some negatives like touch screen is very complicated takes time to adjust interior is good and quality also looks good but bottle holders could have been more spacious

Why Tata punch recieved instant NCAP rating immediately after its launch, while Baleno NCAP rating test continues to postpone...what is the logic.
Tata sent punch top end to GNCAP for testing before the car launch, so that they can brag about 5 star rating. Maruti did not do it. So GNCAP will need to buy atleast 2 balenos with their own money to do the testing.
I think Maruti has stepped in the wrong direction here!! Just increasing the sheet metal thickness on the outside like bonnet and doors isn't good enough, its still based on the same chassis which has failed to perform well!!! They should have focused on chassis redesign and making it more structurally rigid instead of the build quality of doors and bonnet. Bolero has a lot of weight but is terrible when it comes to safety rating and Nissan Magnite is very light but still managed to score a 4 star rating!!!!!

Just Booked my Luxe Beige Baleno Alpha Manual today...90 days waiting....anyways wish me luck .....my first ever car....but i also love i20....both are fab cars....and right now, the prices between baleno and i20 are almost identical....
infact if you ask me, i20 is more VFM....for same price it is giving you a bigger touchscreen, Bose Sound system compared to Arkamys....a sunroof.....yes Baleno has a 360 cam and a HUD..but I would prefer the feature list of i20....
it's just that where I live the maruti network is much stronger and the workshop and this dealership is next door and also a friend of mine had an i20 elite and she told me her ownership experience was subpar in terms of reliability of the car...so i choose baleno...and also in this Luxe Beige colour, the Baleno just looks top notch..even better than i20 imho....
but of course looks are subjective....I agree with most of your points..I test road both of them for over 10 kms...multiple times....before making a choice...the tractability of baleno's engine is much better than i20...in terms of Naturally Aspirated options...i20 does have better high speed stability and brakes...but in terms of space, i20 is more spacious, sure the boot is a little smaller, but the rear seat space is unmatched, even putting some sub compact SUVs to shame...
i20 also has a lot of creature comforts such as wireless charger, air purifier and the list goes on....Baleno does have slightly better seats...
it's almost inseparable, like king kong vs godzilla....
anyways both are fantastic cars, anyone will be happy with either...and both are evenly priced as well with good dealer/service network and very acceptable ownership costs...i20 was released in 2019, maybe it is due for a minor update...

Well new baleno might be better than most of the Tata hatchbacks but it is severely lacking against hyundai hatchbacks...it is better than nios in premiumness and in some other aspects but it is no match for the new hyundai i20. Under 11lakhs i20 is the most premium hatchback I have drove till now.
But yes this facelift of baleno will have a very good road presence without any doubt.
Yeah this car doesn't get CVT gear box, 5 star safety and has smaller boot.😑Baleno has far better interior than the over priced so called premium interior of the Hyundai. Tata and maruti are very good rivals.
