Well, there's no action when you're just shooting 3s from afar. People wanted incredible ankle breakers and high speed fastbreaks. But I do agree with you that Midorima's shooting skills are OP. I wonder what it would look like if he was in the Zone.
Midorin is probably my favorite character in the series. He's a tsundere who secretly always supports Kuroko and has taught Kagami the lesson to become a better player. He's also pretty exciting to watch given his zodiac obsession that made him pull off unexpected actions such getting silly lucky items and being anxious if it's his bad luck day lol.
Also it's cool that he is both calculated his shot and believe in zodiac horoscope ... He really doing everything, from logical math science, to illogical fortune magic ...

But Midorima skill is what every SG hoped to have.
