To anyone wondering why countries kept splitting and exploding; that's just how CK3 successions work. Without the proper laws every eligible heir gets an equal amount of land. That's why France split into Lotharingia, France and Occitania for example.
@@qhu3878 I know, I'm saying that by that time period pretty much everyone SHOULD have primogeniture. The mod maker didn't implement the technology advancement so everyone in 1444 actually has 1066 technology.
The split lands are common in CK3 because of how the whole dynasty mechanics work with hires. The most annoying thing is to for example unite all Ireland only to have your dynasty fight each other for the crown and titles. Kinda wish EU4 had this functionality as it adds another element of diplomacy and war elements.
It was rare by the 15th century, which is why EU4 doesn't have it as a mechanic. There are a couple scripted realm splits in the early game, like when the King of Aragon wills Naples to his other son, ending the personal union.
For the people who wonder how the mongols won against the arabs, numbers dont mean anything in wars, the special soldiers mean evrything and the mongols get about 30k of them when formed
Love seeing more CK3 from you! Also it's hilarious seeing Sardinia-Piedmont and their minty freshness, iirc that's a pretty rare formable. At least I've played at least a thousand hours and never seen it. Will def give this map a try!
Chewy in ck3 nations don't really exist, characters have titles and create them whenever they feel like, the AI often swaps its primary titles so like in 4:46 nothing really changed about the land, the ottoman sultan just made byzantium it's primary title.

Denmark actually could hold the title "Empire of Scandinavia" whose coat of arms in Ck3 directly refers to the Kalmar Union. and the kingdoms of Sweden and Norway could be vassals of the imperial crown directly. Also HRE could just be shaped like in the original ck3, but inside the empire change everything to eu4.
Technically, y'all could've made the "Holy Roman Empire" an Imperial tag with election inheritance laws and started it off with the Austrian Duke being both Duke of Austria and HRE Emperor. Same with the "Kalmar Union" but maybe mod it to make it permanent to the throne of Denmark? Then you could have used a mapmode to show the EU4 Duchies/Kingdoms within the empires
@@lord_faded Could you try to give the realms primogeniture at start to make it more historically accurate for 1444 (I think most places had it by then) and prevent splitting of states. Noticed the Byzantines did well because they had primogeniture at start in base ck3.
I think if you forced the kingdoms to have primogeniture succession it could be more fun for this kind of video, since kingdoms won't always blow up or split everything when a ruler dies, there are enough chances for collapses from dissolusjon factions and factions in general.
Szczecin (Stettin) has been part of Poland almost from the very beginning of the Polish state since 967. If you look at the map of Poland during the reign of Mieszko I you will see that the borders are more or less the same as today. Few people know about it.
@Chewbert at 04:42 I wish you would have clicked on and showed the culture and religion of the leader of Green Byzantium formerly know as Ottomans... Yeah why dont they just do the regular ck3 mechanics for the hre? That seems counterintuitive to not just do what the game does and instead not include something so crucial.
